Finished the full IQ assessment, closed the app to take a phone call, and then couldn't figure out where my score had gone. Support replied within the hour with a screenshot showing the exact tab.

Trial Converted to Paid Subscription Without My Concent
I clicked on a Facebook advertisement offering a service for USD 0.99, which was the only payment I knowingly agreed to make. After completing the process, the website never finished loading. It continued spinning for more than two hours, and I never received access to the service or any confirmation that my registration had been completed.
Several days later, I discovered that USD 41.51 (R681.63) had been deducted from my account. I had not knowingly agreed to a recurring subscription and was surprised by the charge.
Only after investigating the company's website did I find the General Subscription Terms stating that the USD 0.99 payment was for a trial that would automatically convert into a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ended. In my experience, this was not made sufficiently clear during the sign-up process, and I did not receive any reminder before the subscription charge was processed.
The first communication I received from the company was only after the payment had already been taken. I contacted them requesting a refund, cancellation of the subscription, closure of my account, and confirmation that no further charges would be made.
I believe the company could improve by making the trial terms and automatic renewal much more prominent before payment, providing clear confirmation that a subscription has been created, and sending reminder emails before charging customers.
Based on my experience, I would advise anyone considering the trial to read the subscription terms carefully and understand exactly when the trial ends to avoid unexpected charges.

My composite IQ number was nowhere on the dashboard, just the category scores. Apparently it sits one tap deeper support pointed it out in their first reply.

Honestly thought deleting the app would stop the billing. It doesn't, obviously, and $39.99 later I learned that from a very patient support agent who also processed my refund.

'one off' payment was a subscription
Didn't realise my one off payment was actually tied to a subscription. My bank called about suspected fraud and cancelled it.. I had tried to log on via email with no success, assumed it was fraud..

Retook the test hoping to beat my old score and then couldn't find either result. Support explained the history lives under Progress, not on the home screen, and both scores were right there.

Signed up on cognius during one of those late-night scrolling spirals and forgot about it like two seconds later, classic me. Trial ends up billing me, and I'm bracing for the back-and-forth, but support just undid the whole thing, no interrogation, no "well actually" — just handled it.

My banking app pinged me at 7am about $39.99 going to cognius.app and I was sure my card details had leaked somewhere. One chat with support and it turned out to be my own forgotten trial — the refund landed the next morning.

That $39.99 withdrawal looked exactly like the sneaky recurring charges my bank keeps warning about. I flagged it to support fully expecting a fight; instead I got an apology and a same-day refund

I am usually the type who actually reads the fine print and I still somehow missed the auto renewal thing. Figured I had get some whole lecture about it from support but Cognius just put the $39.99 back, no fuss, no attitude. Did not even have to explain myself twice

I filled a FREE IQ test on Facebook then to get your report it was 99p . I didn’t pay the 99p nor did I ask you for £36.99 monthly subscription . Bank reported to me about fraud on my card off this Free test . Now my card is frozen I have to call my bank using the number on the back of my card. To cancel an attempt on my card more than once what I don’t get is how the hell did they get my card details from because I didn’t give them my details nor authority to charge my card.

Autorenewal and refund
Well, I fell into the autorenewal trap!! But I contacted support and got a refund. So all in all the autorenewal is a cheap trick but the company is acting honestly. So I give three stars and five stars for the support.

This app tried to charge my card for a subscription I didn't approve. I took a so called IQ test that was free but to get the results it was .99. So I paid that and then they tried to get 27.99 out of me which the bank stopped and now I will be issued a new card. I saw p people saying to just lock your card ,my was locked and they tried it but the bank stopped it. So locking your card doesn't help with this app. Just wanted people to know this.

This company is an absolute scam
This company is an absolute scam. You are signed up for a subscription without your consent. When you try and click on the link to access your account to cancel the subscription, you find an error page. They hacked into my Google Pay account so even when I cancelled my card and was issued a new one, they still got the information from the new card and tried to take a further payment. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Scam_No info on internet for this company
****UPDATE #3--I did receive an email from Cognius, after they read this review and they did provide a refund to me for $24.95. Today (07.23.26) the refund did post to my credit card account. So, if you have any issues or concerns, I would recommend using the contact email address they have on their site. Clearly state what those issues/concerns are and indicate what your expected resolution would be. Based on my most current experience, their customer service was very attentive and very pro-active to come to a mutual resolution. I hope this helps you!
***UPDATE #2--After reading the reviews, again AFTER I got scammed, I notice some of the reviews received this (canned) message-HOWEVER, please do not believe what they stated in their response as they do NOT tell you when you are registering that you are signing up for a 3 day trial (what company does a 3 day trial anyway?) and you will be charged $39.99 a month! Anyway, I caution you, please don't register for any test and don't give them your bank/card information! Here is the response from the company:
'We would like to clarify that Cognius is not a fraudulent service. Subscription terms are clearly presented before the purchase is completed, and a subscription is automatically activated after 3 days with the relevant information provided in advance.'
**The response from the company are LIES! They do NOT provide you with any information!!!! This company is a SCAM!!!!
***UPDATE: Same day: I had to contact my bank to have all charges from this company stopped. I also had to obtain a new card because this company has my credit card information. NO where on the sign up does it state you are on a 3 day trial period and will be charged $39.99/month. I only found that out thru their confirmation email. When you visit the site, there are no phone numbers to talk to anyone and the chat is AI and you can't speak with a human. When I contacted my bank, they did give me this phone number: 202-990-9615 but it too is automated and you can't speak to anyone. To cancel, their system will text you a link to follow. I did NOT use the link. I didn't want to give them anymore information than they already had. Also, when I called the number, it was listed as "Tryinnerly!" Also, when I sent an email to their "support" all I received was a "canned" letter stating my subscription was cancelled. However, I personally don't believe it. This is the reason I requested a new credit card! Please, please don't fall for this scam!!!
I would imagine this company has low life people sitting around their computers just adding up the .99 cents they are receiving for their stupid test, laughing at all of us who fell for their deceitful tactics! PLEASE, don't do it!
Okay, I got screwed! I paid them .99 cents and it was deducted out of my account, but when I tried to locate them on the internet, I can't find any information for them! I came here and now I realize I was totally scammed! I am so sorry now that I didn't trust my instincts!
