Do not SELL your car to this dealer either.

In my understanding, they run a scheme where a potential buyer requests a rare car (in my case, a low mileage platinum color 2005 lotus elise). Then the contact all of the people selling that car and say they want to buy it for about price listed and ask them to remove all the listings of the car from online sites so that the person who is interested in buying it can't see other options. Then they start haggling about the price with the multiple lotus sellers like me intentionally wasting time by taking over 24 hours to reply to basic messages meanwhile assuring you that they are 100% set on purchasing your vehicle. Then, after 10 days of slow back and forth and on the day the money they promised to send the funds, they low-ball the offer. In my case they said the price needs to drop by $6,500 saying they had a group meeting where they realized that the soft-top roof (which only costs $750 new) wasn't in a great condition as well as "some other imperfections they just noticed". Needless to say, the deal didn't go through, a lot of time was wasted and even some costs were incurred on my end, as the garage the car was staying at, was already promised to another car owner on the day collectibleclassics were supposed to pick it up. And I had to tow it (the car is unregistered) to a different garage.

I have a feeling what happened was either that the customer for the lotus that they had in mind either dropped out, or that they low-balled one of the other lotus sellers down enough and then rejected all the other sellers' cars they said they promised to 100% buy at the set price.

Buyer Beware of Deceptive practices!!!

Buyer Beware!!! Look at the low review ratings on this and other review sites and read about the issues that have existed in transaction with Collectible Classics. Especially with BaT and Hagerty Auction sites. The Auction sites do not hold them accountable for deceptive practices. Collectible Classics has a history that you can read about.

Do NOT buy from this dealer

Do NOT buy from this dealer, they are known for misrepresenting what they sell and have burned many buyers, With the car I bought it showed up with the following undisclosed but had to be known to them issue;

-Ignition key won’t reliably engage and start the car

-Air condition system doesn’t function, makes grinding noise

-Headlights are intermittent sometimes fail to come on 4 out of 5 times

-Missing key

-Provided key provided doesn’t function to open/lock any doors or trunk

-Stereo does function properly

-Seat bolster cracking not in pictures

-Coffee/brown stains all over the floor and rug

-Fuel tank release wire is missing (admittedly a bit of a fine point)

-Wheel shakes under braking

-Wheel shakes when driving straight

-Driver store/window squeaks constantly

- Smells like smoke

-Broken foam stuck in the A/C vents

Pattern of misrepresenting vehicles for online auction

Very disappointing experience with a Bring a Trailer purchase involving a 1958 Jaguar XK150. The car had significant undisclosed issues, including severe structural rust, a major exhaust leak, and other safety problems that make it unsafe to drive. These defects were not clearly shown or mentioned in the listing, despite extensive photos and an “imperfections” video.

Attempts to resolve the issue with the seller (Collectible Classics) went unanswered, and Bring a Trailer declined to take responsibility, stating they do not inspect vehicles and placing the burden entirely on the buyer.

This sale was one instance of a pattern established by collectible classics, which repeatedly conducts illegal sales on bring a trailer.
Bring a trailer has enabled the continuance of illegal practices by collectible classes, by allowing new listings, and removing comments and warnings from previous buyers, in new auctions.

"We purchased a supposedly original 19k miles 1985 Mercedes Benz SL in very good condition, rustfree, without major defects. It was purchased over Bring a Trailer and arrived at our shop. Problems which weren't mentioned in the adverstisment and not photographed: - Frame completely rusted through - Soft Top damaged with a big cut - Rusted through front lip held in place with zip ties - Rust all over the car - Vin number in the Front rusted away - Miles are not original (found a receipt with higher mileage) - Muffler has rust holes"

"Undisclosed body damage and wear and tear to the interior. They are very clever with their photos and disguise damage by using angles and cropping to cover damage."

"I bought a 2010 Camaro with only 8000 miles on it from these people on bring a trailer and the car showed up with undisclosed body damage on the front fender. Spoke to the owner, Joey Benjamini, and he was unwilling to do anything for me"

"THE CAR NEEDS 20,000 IN REPAIRS. FRAME RAIL BENT HITTING THE STEERING BOX, HALF OF THE UNDER BODY SHIELDING IS RIPPED OFF, MOTOR MOUNTS ARE SHOT, THE FLUID THAT THEY LEAKED ROTTED MANY PARTS, CAM COVER BLOWING OIL AND ROTTING PLASTIC PARTS, SERPENTINE BELT ROTTED FROM LEAKS, AND MUCH MORE. THEY HAD JUST FINISHED PHOTOGRAPHING THE ENTIRE CAR AND KNEW ALL OF THIS. KARMA WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM!!"

"I have been purchasing cars for over 50 years and this is without a doubt the worst experience I’ve ever had with the dealership. Purchased a car off bring a trailer. "

"I recently purchased a car from Collectible Classics, relying on their written representation of the car's condition on its Bring a Trailer listing. I would not recommend purchasing a car from them unless you have seen the car in person with your mechanic"

"Buyers beware, do not buy a vehicle sight-unseen from Collectible Classics. Please note that they sell a lot of their cars on the BringaTrailer.com website…"

"Buyers Beware! I bought a car from bring a trailer on auction. The auction went very smooth, payment was easy but that’s where it stopped. I purchased a 43000$ car, 500$ of which was negotiated for a ceramic coat that they said was half done ,and if I wanted it to be complete, would cost me an extra 1500$"

"Was made to believe (on Bring a Trailer) that wiring harness on 1995 Mercedes Benz cabriolet had been replaced when in fact it had not. The vehicle arrived with no rear view mirror and Check engine and SRS light bulbs were removed from instrument cluster. Wiring harness and rear view mirror cost me $2509.00 and $309.00 respectively. Other than that, the vehicle was fine. Transacting and communicating with Greg went well. Buyer beware.
