My honest experience with copy MBA

I was extremely “anti-course”. Got scammed pretty badly on an e-commerce mentorship in 2023 ($15k price point, was a complete bait and switch, awful) so every time I saw ads for courses I would immediately ignore. I saw a Copy MBA ad back in 2024, and even though Mason was technically a “course seller”, he didn’t make any outlandish claims and seemed a little more genuine.

I went through their sales process still extremely skeptical, but ended up enrolling in April. I’ve only spoken to Mason in the DMs once, but the coaches have truly gone above and beyond. Not sure how they do it, because there are quite a few students in there, but they respond quickly and Coach Tommy helped me land a client on the side of a busy full-time job that I have no problem handling.

The team is young (I believe they’re all under 30) but they have genuinely restored my faith in courses/coaching. There are some good ones out there.

Not bad

I joined Inner Circle late May and ROI’d late June. Although helpful, the actual course content is a little too much. It took me forever to go through it, so I’d give that a 7 out of 10. The coaching is where they excel. Very responsive, quick feedback, suited to my style of learning. I’ve only been able to attend a couple of the live coaching calls, and again, can be dense, but good. Coach Tommy and Coach Griffin are both very bright.

I was a little skeptical of Copy MBA…

I was a little skeptical of Copy MBA originally. Mason looks young, and I questioned his experience as a copywriter, but I was pleasantly surprised! The course content is pretty dense and took me a while to go through it, but it was fairly effective in teaching how to actually write professionally. I spoke with one coach for the most part, Natasha, and she was so kind. She personally helped me land a small client with an e-commerce brand for $1600 a month. Honestly, that’s all I was looking for at this point. Happy so far with the coaching about 2 months in. Only note is I wish they moved the coaching calls later in the day. Most students have jobs and can never attend live. Other than that…would recommend!

Misleading, Dishonest & Unresponsive: Do Not Buy

I had a terrible experience with Copy MBA and would not recommend it to anyone. I purchased this course on May 24th because I couldn’t afford the $5,000 Inner Circle program, and Conner—one of their team members—told me that many people take different routes with Copy MBA and still find success. That reassurance was one of the main reasons I felt comfortable moving forward.

During my video call meeting with Conner, he screen‑shared their refund policy, which made me feel more confident about enrolling. Later on, after the meeting, I asked to see the policy again over text for my records, but Conner was hesitant and kept saying it was “on the backend.” After pushing, I finally received a screenshot of the policy, which clearly states: “If you complete 100% of the content in the program and implement the action steps provided, and you don’t get results within 60 days, you are eligible for a full refund on your payment.”

The problem is that the course never explicitly defines any real “action steps.” Still, I tried. I even created a practice ad template and sent it to Conner for feedback via text. After reviewing the content in more detail, I realized it didn’t align with my goals or needs, so I decided to request a refund. To meet their requirements, I quickly reviewed the remaining videos to achieve 100% completion, which I accomplished within the 60‑day window. On May 30th—just six days after purchase—I formally requested a refund after taking time to test out the course.

After that, I experienced complete silence. Conner ghosted me by text and call, and the company never responded to my dispute through Whop. I even called only twice about my refund, both at reasonable hours (July 11th at 7:11 PM and again at 7:24 PM CST), yet I still received no follow‑up.

To make matters worse, the owner, Cardinal Mason, previously replied to this review using my real name, which violates Trustpilot rules, so that reply was removed (convenient that they reply as soon as I go public after previous silence). In his reply, he falsely claimed I “harassed” Conner by calling multiple times in the middle of the night and suggested I might be attempting a “resell scam.” This is a clear attempt to gaslight me and shift blame, but in reality, it makes him, and his company look dishonest. A customer is always entitled to exercise their right to a refund in any business space, and their refund policy isn’t even public on their website...it’s hidden “on the backend,” as Conner admitted.

Finally, after skimming through the course, I can say confidently that the content is not worth $500. You can learn AI copywriting for free on YouTube with just a bit of searching. Between the hidden policies, poor customer service, and lack of response, I strongly recommend avoiding Copy MBA. And for the record, I have receipts, screenshots, and documentation to confirm everything I’ve shared here is true.

Would not recommend

Sat through the webinar. Then did the application but since I couldn’t invest in the high ticket, I bought this $1 Freelancer Fast Track Case Study. Never got the $1 product after purchase instead it took me to a page to upsell a $297 product. The $1 was deducted from my card. Reached out to Mason via email and Instagram. No response. I know it’s a small amount of money but if this is how he and his team treated low ticket customers then I can’t imagine the service will be better if you buy his course.

I reached out to CopyMBA team per email provided. CopyMBA responded and corrected the issue by not only giving me the case study but also First Client Playbook. Thank you for trying to make this right.

We often have issues with that one particular product (the $1 case study) not auto-enrolling students upon purchase.
