Long wait for phone to be answered
We renewed our travel insurance [ annual , Europe only , couple
Tried to ring as had a few queries , but had to wait for at least 45 minutes for someone to reply .
She was perfectly pleasant , but then said we had to do a medical form as well [ never had to do that before] .
Tried to do it on line , but it was complicated , so I rang the medical company . This time I had to wait at least an hour .
And in spite of only taking a few low dose preventative medication [ me statin , partner hypertensive medication and nasal spray ] we had to pay £150 extra .
I was so fed up with being on the phone for so long that I paid it , but next year I will research other options .
The staff themselves were perfectly pleasant - just wish there were more of them to answer the phone !

While medical screening requirements can vary and are assessed on an individual basis, we appreciate that the separation between the main policy journey and the medical screening process, particularly the time spent waiting to speak to someone, detracted from what should have been a straightforward renewal. Your feedback regarding call wait times and the overall screening experience has been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams.
We are currently working to better integrate the medical screening process into our main online journey, with the aim of reducing the need for separate calls and improving wait times overall.
