I'm a new in-house counsel. I have worked at a law firm, Deloitte, tax departments of large companies and the IRS. I've been lucky to use top industry-standard research platforms. When I started my career, I was using the printed BNA Portfolios but progressed to web-based tools so, needless to say, I had been more old-school in my research process up until recently. I've been hesitant to get into anything AI, but I realized that I'd be behind the curve if I didn't start using more AI-based tools.
When I started this new job, I found out about CPA Pilot. I was sold when I signed up for a tutorial and the actual owner of the company walked me through it. It was such a personalized experience, plus he was a nice person and great listener! I knew then that it was a company I'd be happy to support.
My mind was blown after I put in my first prompt. In addition to the Code, regs, IRS guidance, IRM, it also includes case law. Now, I pretty much have CPA Pilot open in my browser on a daily basis as things come up. It's so easy to just throw in a question that comes up in my day. I will usually save to PDF and insert the result in my OneNote as reference for later.
I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend this product. I use CPA Pilot mostly for my own education on issues. If you're having to explain tax rules to clients over email or a memo, I think this will pay for itself. Just get it!

My firm ran across CPAPilot in the fall of 2023. Tried the free version and it was interesting enough to upgrade to a paid subscription. The company added states and additional federal resources and I renewed again in 2024.
For reviewing staff work, I was able to handle those nagging questions that used to take many minutes or hours to get an answer, or if you were backlogged, maybe not researched at all. Now, it takes seconds. Like any AI, you still have to confirm its accuracy, but we had no issues in that area.
A colleague who spends north of $30K for research told me during the season that CPAPilot was his first go to for answers. We do the same.
This is just an absolutely fabulous AI program. It is so User friendly and easy to use. It is integrated with many different tax preparation software services and packages and provides solid and verifiable answers that are quickly and thoroughly researched.
