We understand the worry, and no, this isn't a scam. Credit365 is a licensed Australian lender. Some payouts were delayed by a transfer issue our team has been resolving, and we're sorry you couldn't reach us in the meantime. Please email us at customercare@credit365.com.au with your name and we'll check exactly where your funds are and come back to you.

Thanks for raising this — a face scan is exactly the kind of thing you should question, so we're glad to explain rather than brush it off.

The face scan is an identity verification step. Its whole purpose is to confirm the person applying is really you — which protects you from someone else using your identity to take out a loan in your name. It's a security check for your benefit, not a way to collect information about you.

OZ Forensics is the specialist identity-verification provider that runs that check, which is why their name appears on the screen. They're an established verification technology company, not an unknown third party — and your face scan is used to verify your identity as part of your application, handled in line with our privacy obligations.

We understand how alarming this would have felt, and we appreciate you raising it — concerns like this are something we take seriously.

A few things that may help. Credit365 is a licensed Australian credit provider (Australian Credit Licence 391069, operated by Zainah Pty Ltd) and a member of AFCA — you can always reach us directly at customercare@credit365.com.au.

On PayTo: setting up the agreement in your banking app is a legitimate part of our repayment process, and it's confirmed before funds are released because it's how the payment rail is set up. The agreement displays a maximum limit, which can look higher than a single repayment — but that's a cap, not an amount we take. We only ever debit the amounts due under your loan contract and repayment schedule.

That said, we don't want anyone left in the dark. We'd genuinely like to look into exactly what you experienced — including the messages and number you mentioned, as scams impersonating lenders do exist and we treat them seriously. Please contact our complaints team at customercare@credit365.com.au so we can review your case properly. If you've also raised it with ASIC, that's your right, and we're happy to work through it with you directly.
