Extremely disappointing Vishu Sadhya experience - Poor portions and hostile service
I ordered a Vishu Sadhya for 4 people, but the experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. I called the owner in advance to confirm all items were available before collection; however, upon arrival, I was told the Thoran was unavailable. While they offered a nominal £1 discount per person, the overall quantity of the remaining items was unacceptable.
Furthermore, some of the main side dishes (Olan, Theeyal, Kaalan, etc.) for 4 people were packed in tiny, condiment-sized containers (see attached photo). When I raised concerns about the portion sizes and missing items, the staff member packing the food became dismissive and claimed those were "thodu curries." Parippu was also initially packed in a small container; when I asked if this was really for 4 people, he insisted that Parippu is also a "thodu curry." As Malayalees, we found this ridiculous, he was fundamentally misrepresenting the role of Parippu in a Sadhya. Later, he added one more container of Parippu but slid it across the table without even closing the lid, an unprofessional and disrespectful gesture.
The most upsetting part was my follow-up call to the owner. I called privately to share my feedback, hoping for a professional resolution. Instead, the owner began yelling in a hostile tone, telling me that if there wasn't enough curry I should "just bring the food back, take the money and leave." He was incredibly rude when I asked why he was shouting and showed zero patience or interest in legitimate customer feedback.
I chose this restaurant for a special occasion like Vishu for my family, but the lack of quality control and the aggressive attitude of the management ruined the experience. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful or value-for-money takeaway or dining experience.
I tried to share this feedback in their community WhatsApp group, but the admins immediately deleted my messages and removed me from the group to silence the issue. Potential customers should be aware that this business does not accept accountability and prefers to hide legitimate complaints rather than address them. Attaching images for reference.
