Daniel Johnson's Showreels from Scratch Avis

Dan was great to work with! Really collaborative throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend!

I had the best time and experience filming my showreel with Daniel! From start to finish Daniel was so supportive and helpful and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone! I felt so comfortable and relaxed on the day and am so happy with my reel :) Thank you Daniel!!

I came across Daniel via Spotlight, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. He tailored original scenes around my casting strengths, which made the material feel specific, grounded and genuinely useful for my showreel.

The process was straightforward and professional throughout, and Daniel gave really helpful direction on the day to make sure each scene was as strong and truthful as possible.

I’ve come away with scenes that feel contemporary, casting-aware and well aligned with the direction I want to move in as an actor. I’d definitely recommend him to other actors looking for bespoke showreel material.

Had an amazing experience filming with Dan! Super friendly and collaborative with the writing as well as filming the scenes.
His writes specifically for each person making it personal and right for all types!

Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for new showreel materials.

After learning about what I was after, Daniel absolutely nailed the brief. The script was perfect, just what I was after - and he provided a really solid scene partner to work with. I am delighted with the whole process, and the end product. The actual filming day was calm, focused and Daniels direction was spot on. I would highly reccomend him if your looking for new/fresh scene.
NB please note, when I worked with him, it was in a home setting as no studio available. Jan 25.

Expert and Professional
I cannot recommend Daniel Johnson for his expertise on filming, directing and editing my showreel.
So if you are looking for the "Best" - Daniel is the man to contact

I had a great experience working with Daniel on my showreel. From our first conversation, he took the time to understand me, my strengths, and my vision. He wrote scripts that fit my abilities perfectly and directed me with helpful suggestions. The filming process was calm and comfortable. Daniel's approach focused on being genuine rather than perfect, which allowed me to relax and be creative. I'm very happy with the final result and excited to add it to my Spotlight profile. Thank you, Daniel!

Best showreel service about! Went to Daniel seeking one scene to enhance my reel after an initial conversation with Daniel explaining my needs, he went above and beyond to help achieve it and the final product was above my expectation! Definitely recommend.

I truly can not recommend Daniel enough!!!! From our first meeting to the final product, the entire process was nothing but delightful. I felt involved in every aspect, and Dan completely understood and honored my vision. My reel is even more than I could have asked for. An actor is nothing without a great director… so thank goodness for Daniel!

Just recently had my showreel done with Daniel, it was such a great experience. Totally professional, excellent scrips, fantastic actors to work with. A pure pleasure from start to finish and really happy with the results. He gives superb direction, makes you feel at ease and the end result is high quality.

Daniel is the man to go to if you want a showreel! Fantastic quality footage and scripts that highlight what you have to offer as an actor. Daniel creates an environment that's relaxing and very enjoyable. Genuinely a fantastic day of filming and a top-quality showreel. Could not ask for more!

Daniel is an absolutely fantastic filmmaker. Throughout the process of putting my showreel together, he was so professional in his approach, combining a really creative eye with a willingness to discuss actors' ideas and options for individual takes. The entire experience felt very well structured, but at the same time, Daniel made the process engaging and fun, which is always conducive to great results on screen.

He was also very attentive in our initial consultation, and came up with really great scene options for us to work with. He's a great screenwriter, and he really captured my "vibe" as a performer, which allowed me to showcase my acting in the best possible way!

Daniel made me feel so at ease throughout every step of the process, and I gained a lot of experience confidence from him, he doesn’t just ‘write’ these scripts, I sense a great deal of care and thought put into the mechanics of the dialogue and his creativity and flair for comedy, makes my job as an actor much easier and all the more enjoyable to play with!! I am so happy with my showreel, now up on my Spotlight.

Dan approach to creating showreels is unique in the market. No one else offers a service where the material is written bespoke to you and your casting, and is shot and edited professionally. I can highly recommend the service the quality of the product speaks for itself.

Dan is a lovely chap and a great filmmaker. He really takes his time to write a good range of scripts that work for your showreel. He's got a good network of scene partners and creates a really relaxed atmosphere on filming days. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of working with Daniel on a showreel and I couldn’t be happier with the results. His writing was fantastic and he was very professional throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking to get a showreel done.

Dan is a consummate pro. From the initial chat (that I had to reschedule at short notice) to writing the scripts, the filming day itself and the edit; Dan took care of everything and I mean everything. He initially wrote three scenes for me, but I wasn’t sure they were quite right for me. So Dan went off and returned with three new scenes, all of which which bang on and were used on the filming day.

During the shoot, Dan sourced the locations and other actors to film with. I didn’t feel under any particular time pressure and was very happy with the direction I received as well.

After the day itself Dan sent an edited version and when I asked whether he could change the order of scenes he was more than happy to do so. Can’t recommend enough!

Daniel was very understanding and relaxed, and a great director- he explained things very well and had a clear vision of what would look best. I’m very pleased with how my showreel has turned out. I couldn’t ask for a more professionally made reel.

Daniel takes the time to understand you and carefully creates scenes that cater to the characters you will play. Everything is bespoke and from scratch, on the day of filming everything is incredibly professional. I received my edit in good time and will definitely return for updated scenes in the future. Cannot recommend enough!

I can’t recommend working with Dan enough. In the run up to shooting, his communication was brilliant and he was incredibly considerate of my casting type and wants when it came to writing scenes for me - they ended up being absolutely perfect for me. The other actors he sourced were also very talented and well suited to the scenes.

On the day itself, Dan was a brilliant director, which was especially important to me as an actor with less screen experience. I’ve had great feedback on the scenes he shot for me since, and will definitely be coming back to him when I’m looking to update my showreel in the future.
