Data Recovery Specialists Avis 

I had two orders, first one approx 50% of data been recovered. On the second I had been given an assurance that it would work, paid the money and result was 0% data recovered. Im glad at least some data are recovered, but trying to explain to specialist that its only 50% of data off HDD, they would not want to understand what I was talking about. Generally I would NOT recommend to use this service.

I would like to second the review before mine, excellent service. Recovered photos and account files i thought were lost forever.

I honestly thought all the kids photos from birth and wedding photos were lost forever.
From the moment I made an inquiry DRS were professional and helpful in sorting my HD out. I had a courier come pick it up the same day, few days later I was contracted to say what data had been recovered and sent a list of files.
Customer service was superb!
All data was recovered and sent back to me on an external hard drive. I was so relieved.
You have 14 days to check if data was all there but I was away on holiday so DRS increased the 14 days for me.
The service was second to none and recovery price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend DRS for a professional service.

Excellent service. A bit slow on the contracting front but we’re very helpful in the phone and email. Definitely recommend.

DRS di do what I engaged them for and seem to have fully recovered the data that was on the defective disk that others had not been able to do. But the cost at approaching £2k was very much more than I had at first thought - and maybe had been led to think - it was going to be - an expensive lesson in the importance of backing up data. So to summarise - a good job done but pretty expensive.

We really thought that all hope was lost when the external hard drive was badly damaged and stopped working completely. But Data Recovery restored the lot! Great communication throughout a stressful time. Recommended.

Avoid at all costs! SCAM! They originally quoted me £395 on the website for recovering my hard drive, only once receiving the drive they quoted me £1000. As part of their service, they said they’d return the hard drive for free if you didn’t like the quote - which is what I did.
I sent them the whole hard drive, cables and extras. They only returned the inner part. When questioned where the cables and outter hardshell of the HDD was, they said they disposed of those items which mean’t I wouldn’t be able to access the hard drive regardless.

My failed HDD contained pictures and documents related to my deceased son and so were an invaluable memory source. Great credit to "Data Recovery Specialists" for retrieving ALL the lost data. The lesson to learn here is..........make a BACK-UP. Data recovery is NOT a cheap exercise but worth it.

Very impressed with the service from Data Recovery Specialists. They were helpful and prompt. They also recovered all our data, including masses of family photos, even though other companies had told us it wouldn't be possible. We are so grateful.

Avoid at all costs! I had a hard drive scan with them, where they told me they would only supply working data and that’s what I’d pay for. They originally quoted me over £350 on the website. Once receiving the drive they quoted me £1000. After me saying that was too much, they dropped to £600. So never firstly take their original price. Once I then received the date, a massive majority of the data didn’t work and they tried to claim there was nothing they could do to recover these files. But they didn’t bother me telling me this first, even after discussing on the phone with them before paying to check the data would work. They are now being very tricky with sorting a refund!

Free collection and return. They did an assessment within a few days and provided a link to all the files they could recover on the drive to review - which makes it much easier to decide before you commit to paying. It's not cheap but as most people who lost hard drives know, there is a lot of sentimental value to the media you have. Highly recommend.

I smashed my usb stick into two pieces and it was badly bent. I am a teacher and had years of work on this stick and no back up. Local IT firms were unable to help so after some research online I found Data Recovery Specialists. The customer service was excellent, keeping track of the usb delivery and keeping me informed of progress along the way. It’s not a cheap service but worth every penny.

Very professional and quick. Informative all the way. Free postage with no commitment to payment was why I chose them. Definitely recommend if you have important data to recover.

I approached Data Recovery Specialists for help as my hard drive with all my family pictures, in particular pictures of the kids throughout their childhood, were on it.

They collected the hard drive by courier and the following day gave me a diagnosis of the problem and a list of options for recovery, along with the different costs.

I went ahead with the recovery and a week or so later received a code to a drobox folder which allowed me to access all the missing photos and documents.

Outstanding service and I was kept fully informed throughout the process by regular phone calls from the company. I would not hesitate to recommend data Recovery Specialists, and would certainly use them again if I found myself in this situation in the future.

They turned a crisis into a manageable problem - they saved my 'business' life !

There was great communication with the company and especially Daniel who worked on my hardrive. There were clear explanations of how the data would be recovered. What was great that after some data was recovered, they continued to try and recover some more and they did! The process was simple and easy for me to download the links with recovered data. Saved me a lot of time in re-creating work again. I found the company great. Cheaper than other companies were quoting me. I was able to drop my hardrive off at the main office (luckily I live 5 miles away!). But they did offer free collection, which not many other people do.

I sent my HDD to them as I was told they were quite competitive regarding the price and were efficient.
I quickly received a quote for 3Tb HDD (due to clicking noise and not recognise by my PC) of 725£ + VAT which was quite above other quotes I had from other companies. After receiving the quote by email they pressure me to accept it and called me quite late. I was busy and asked them to discuss about it later, but they insisted. Since English is not my native language and the sound quality over the phone was very poor I had a hard time to understand what they were asking me. After few minutes I told them that I'll contact them later.

The next day I emailed them not let them know that the quote was way above what I expected and I wanted my disk back. To which they replied me that they were surprised because I apparently accepted the quote over the phone (which I don't remember doing and there is actually no proof of it). Since I supposedly accepted the quote they already started to work on it. I knew them that if I was trying to insist to get my disk back they might try to charge me or I might actually lose my data, I'm not saying it would have happen but reading other comments made me realize that it was risky.
I managed to negotiate the price to 816£ incl VAT and new media.
But there once again they called me and emailed me everyday until I pay. Very annoying to be pressured this way and doesn't look professional at all but quite suspicious actually.

I eventually received quickly my data back and it seems that everything was recovered. So I must admit that they did a good job on that.

Overall it could be a good company if they were cheaper (very expensive for what you get) and more respectful of the privacy of their customers and understand that paying such a price requires to time to think about it.

What a terrible experience, the company is a front for fields data recovery. They basically purchased a url so they would be top of the search engine, I sent them a hard drive then got an extortionate quote for between £700 to thousand pounds. When I said no I lasked for my disk about to be returned, they returned it just the inside of the desk no Housen, the disk is useless, so they destroyed a £200 hard drive and said that they destroy the housin and they don’t keep it in the office for health and safety reasons. Absolute farce. So a so called free service ended up costing me £200. Do not use this company. Avoid at all costs.

Quick turn around and recovered all my data from a broken mac harddrive.
