Daymans DIY is a family run DIY and hardware store which has been based in the heart of Leicester since 1928. Our business has been handed down through generations of our family. Founded by William Edward Dayman in 1928 on the same road that we are based today. The shop is currently ran by Steve Dayman (3rd generation) & son Adam Dayman (4th generation). Excellent personal customer service is at the heart of our business and we always have the kettle on and a hot cup of tea for anyone who comes to our store. Whether its to have a brew whilst they wait for their order or to have a browse around the shop. Many of our customers have become friends over the years and we know them by name as they know us. Our shop is an Aladdin's cave of DIY and hardware including: Tools, Paint, Electrical, Building Materials, Plumbing, Garden Materials and more. We currently have over 5000 products on our website which is constantly growing. Our website and customer service are managed solely in house to offer the best service possible. We offer a number of bespoke services such as bespoke builds and free timber cutting.

The product is not same as i ordered…
The product is not same as i ordered item which is different brand and different origin and also much cheaper than i expected. But thankfully the customer service is quite excellent, it helped me to process refund process soon. But you should have a look what you paid and the product received is it the same.

Great business
I needed a specific size of MDF they were so helpful sorted it all via email then I went in to collect the same day 😁 I don’t know much about pricing but I was more than happy with the cost so I would say good value for money

The best local independent hardware shop around friendly helpful and pretty much everything you need in shop and if on a very rare occasion they don’t have it then they will order it for you also their home delivery is 10 stars I’d be lost without them

Limited shipping options
There seemed to be a bit of a delay dispatching the item.
Also you only offer us and Australia for overseas shipping. This means I needed to use a re-forward option to ship to NZ. This adds to cost and delivery time. My guess is that if you can ship to Australia it should be similar effort to ship to NZ.

Hello Ed thank you for your review. With international orders we can send anywhere in the world but we just ask our customers to get in touch with us so we can calculate the postage. We have over 5000 products and with postage rates changing frequently we find this is the best way for us to offer the most competitive prices. Shop locally - great choice and service !
I needed varnish for a couple of small jobs and going to a big hardware shop and looking round is not an option. How easy is it to look on Daymans website, find what I need, place my order on line and the goods are delivered to my door the same day ! Competitive prices, so I shop locally and will do again. Try it - you won’t be disappointed !
