Misleading Product Description and Uncooperative Return Process

I ordered a product advertised as a genuine Akari A1 light, but after receiving the item, I realized it was not authentic. When I contacted the seller, they admitted in writing that the fixture was “designed by their own team,” confirming it was not an official Akari product. This is a clear case of false advertising.

When I requested a return, they refused to cover return shipping—even though the product was misrepresented, not simply unwanted. I was offered partial refunds to keep the item, which I declined. Only after I filed a dispute with my credit card company did they begin to respond more attentively, but they still refused to take full responsibility.

I find their handling of this matter to be deceptive and unprofessional. They delayed meaningful engagement until a financial dispute was filed and continued to insist the product was acceptable despite acknowledging that it was not what was advertised.

I am leaving this review to warn others: be cautious when buying from this company, especially if you’re looking for authentic designer items. They misrepresent their products and make the return process intentionally difficult.

Do not buy from this company unless you want to take a gamble.

I ordered a light that took a long time to arrive- that’s when I realized it was being shipped from overseas. Once it arrived, it was damaged in multiple areas. Not only was the electrical broken but the base itself was cracked like a smashed eggshell.

The company has completely outsourced the refund process to a third party and it is “out of their hands”. Why should that be the consumer’s problem? I have exchanged countless emails, sent photos, etc. It should be a slam dunk refund. The lamp is beyond repair.

There’s one nice woman on the customer service side but nothing gets done. I read another review that this is a fraudulent company. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Now I will go to my credit card.

Great Customer Service

I ordered a black bedside lamp for my son but got a pink one. Customer service was super helpful and fast - they sent the right one right away and didn't even need the wrong one back. Great service!

Orderrrd in early Dec. received in March.

It seems like this company is trying to go factory direct, which is probably why the prices are reasonable. I ordered the chandeliers in early December and received them in mid March. This was very frustrating. The chandeliers did finally arrive in good order. They look nice but are pretty rough/sharp on the inside of the glass plates. Long-term this will probably make keeping them clean very difficult because you will have to be careful on the very sharp spots and dust will gather in the rough areas and be difficult to remove. Otherwise, the chandeliers are beautiful.

This is a fraudulent company

This is a fraudulent company. The website is fake and there are no products being shipped from anywhere
I have received a lot of garbled emails from them with absolutely no integrity and have yet to get a straight answer from them
I have contacted my cc company to open an investigation and refund me.

UPDATE: I changed this review to four stars after the company corrected the issue. The light took about 6 weeks to arrive and the customer service wasn’t the best but I’ll day the light was higher quality than I expected!! I was excited when it finally arrived!

I made a purchase from dekoorlight on December 1. The light purchase has still not shipped. I've contacted the company multiple times to request a status update and they told me the light shipment was a UPS issue. I contacted UPS and they informed me it was the vendor who needs to open an investigation. I called the company and the number immediately went to voicemail. I believe this company is fraudulent. I am waiting for a response but I will likely be contacting my credit card company to reverse the charge.

After I placed the order, their customer service told me that the price was marked incorrectly by an employee, but they would still ship the product to me as usual. Two weeks later, I received the wall lamp and the quality was very good. I wanted to buy another one, but they had corrected the price, and I can no longer purchase it at the lower price.
