“We are a forward-thinking construction-focused cost consultancy. Our strong network is unrivalled, giving our clients access to a trusted team of contractors and tradesmen, meaning the outlay is repaid twice over.” We have provided professional, timely and accurate costing advice for nearly 30 years. We are proud to be a leading provider of specialist building cost analysis to clients and contractors, both personal and corporate. Key to success is listening to the client and the design team to create a living breathing cost model to identify the crucial project levers, inform decisions and identify risk. As the design develops so does the cost model adding layers of detail to the budget pack.Working through the design decisions with the team and benchmarking the costs against the DGA Body of Knowledge to build trust and confidence. Clarity in communication and understanding the needs of the client is a priority for DGA. Our cost models are bespoke and appropriate for the project stage and grow with the project’s design certainty. They reflect the individual needs of the client and provide the flexibility and freedom to explore alternative worlds, without incurring prohibitive additional fees.

QS report from Derek Gough to major company Build Store
The QS report was requested by two major companies namely Build Loan and Build Store
I engaged Derek Gough at a cost of £480.00 to calculate my costings which was then submitted to build loan and came back with a course letter stating what is this not even dated or even signed
And no company address either
My response is that it is a financial lesson learnt and next time i should put more effort in to selecting a Quantity Surveyor

Hello David
We are so sorry that you are dissatisfied. We have undertaken an internal review involving 3 of our Directors and the QS who undertook your project and we have raised a customer complaint within our ISO quality system.
In our defence, it is always difficult when a budget costing document is used by a client for funding purposes. This format was never intended to be used for funding bodies, it was designed to be used by small contractors for budget costings. We use a specialised detailed report format for funding projects specifically formatted for the funders needs. Our professional job in these situations is to provide robust cost advice to the funder so that they can have confidence in the costs. We have no control over the outcome of the funding decision in any case. We feel that in this instance we have done our job well within the scope provided and the budget that was given to us.
If you wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact any of the Directors here at DGA.
Kind regards
Philippa Gough
