Everything messed up with BMO/Diners!

I had cancelled the card by phone on 11/7/2023 and paid the full balance. I then received a statement charging me for the annual fee of $95 for the period AFTER the card was cancelled, then a statement for the fee plus late charges. After 3 calls to C/S number and a 34 minute hold I disconnected. I received a Collections call the next day. After 58 minutes and a transfer from Collections to Customer Service the agent confirmed BMO/Diners would/has reversed the charges and will send a confirmation letter within 10 (?) days. There was no dispute that I had canceled the card as described! Outrageous that I had to spend more than 1.5 hours to deal with their failure. FYI: I had an issue in January 2023 where my card just stopped working. Resolution was equally difficult. Again, no reason for the card disruption - whereby I was unable to use the card for 2 months - just a mistake at BMO/Diners. Also no fee credit for the lost 2 months usage. After more than 20 years with Diners Club Card this is when I decided to cancel the card. Now on hold for more than 12 minutes to resolve the transfer of rewards points to Delta that was submitted 8 weeks ago and has not been credited. Should be easy to resolve - if I could reach someone at BMO/Diners since I have a confirmation number for the transfer. None of my issues are resolvable or reportable on the BMO website although the on hold voice constantly directs the customer to the website. How messed up can a company be?

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I have been a member since 1983 and never had a problem until BMO took over. I pay the total due monthly and have never been late. They reduced my spending limit and won't tell me why. I also have had a lot of trouble getting refunds on unsatisfactory merchandise and then there's "CUSTOMER SERVICE" ....they don't know the meaning of the words. When this was JUST DINER'S CLUB it was great!

Crap app.

Why such basic nonsense app and everything about the card is so unclear. It’s as if they don't want u to know all the benefits in fear that u might use them. Its 2023. The app does not cut it. Please sort something. Even basic cards these days give u more control and info on the product u pay for.

I've had this card since the late 1990's thru various owners and thematically its gotten worse with each successive company. BMO is rock bottom.

The website/online payment is ancient, barely functional. Whoever runs their IT has totally fleeced the company and the board must all be tech infants.

When you call their customer service you will wait. sometimes out of sheer curiosity I'll wait to see how long it takes....you can easily wait 1 hour to 3+ hours only to get someone who can't address a credit card issue and then be disconnected.

This is a zombie company.

Worthless card

I tried to contact their customer service, I was disconnected and was supposed to give a phone password I never ever had...
There is no benefit to this card at all..

Their Website is rubbish

Their Website is rubbish. Trying to navigate it brings me back in time to 2005. This is B2B, and considering what we are charged, you'd think that it would be easier to get a hold of our statements. Onerous log-in, user-hostile experience, obfuscation. I'm just done. Sadly they have the monopoly on what I'm trying to do...

We are currently in Turkey

We are currently in Turkey. Ou Diners Club card has been put on hold. We don't know why. We have tried for hours to get help over the phone and we keep getting hung up on or disconnected. We are stuck. DinersClub has destroyed our vacation and we have no idea what to do.

Terrible service and card

Terrible card and even worse service. Usually faults when booking flights. Customer service is accessed via a maze of links. Don't bother with this card

Ocjena-1...Nakon 25 godina korištenja i urednog plaćanja otkazuju mi karticu jer ne dajem podatke o stalnom prihodu..danas kad šaćica ljudi radi u tvrtkama sa stalnim prihodom.Otkazuju mi partnere...koje partnere?kad sam imala Diners Hak znala sam za što plaćam članarinu koja se vani ne plaća!ali otkazao vam je parner Hak.i za šta se sad plaća članarina?za komad plastike koji mi nikad vani nisu uzeli...hvala napravili ste mi uslugu!!

If I could provide a 0 rating I would. Have had the card for 22 years. Last 3 it has become a total nightmare. Customer service is the worst of any company. 2 hour wait time often. Frequently have to call 3 times for same issue. Example- Diners's fraud dept. locked my card because I tried to buy an AA airline ticket. Blocked with no notice by Diner's (you have to find out when your card stops working). I called and they supposedly resolved. 2 days later I get an email saying my card is locked due to fraud. I call and am told it's the same AA ticket issue. It's supposedly resolved (again). A week later my card is declined for no reason. I call CS and they tell me the fraud department has shut card down because of SAME AA ticket. Have been on hold now for 2hrs and 40 minutes to speak to someone. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. I'd cancel mine in a heartbeat if I could find a way to not get credit hit... TERRIBLE. Frustration is cumulative...often have to call because card is on hold a week after they receive my payment??? Each time I call its the same - supposedly resolved only to happen over and over. Nightmare.

The worst

The worst, call customer service over 2 hour wait. Have corporate card cause company makes me use it. Begging them to switch. Have had multiple interaction and problem is still not resolved. Amex is much better. Web page is not very user friendly. Had one rep Micheal who was decent but dropped my call after a very long wait.

Been a Diners Club customer since 1997. Have never had an issue in that time and have probably used it for 1M in purchases over 25 years and never paid a single bill late.

Today? Card used for legit sneaker purchase. Email from BMO restricting use of card for "suspected fraud" and instructed me to call a number. Called special number which advised me of THREE HOUR WAIT to speak to a fraud specialist. No chatbot, no way of communicating, and no way for me to remediate. Worst I've ever seen. I will pay my bill and cancel my card and never do business with this company again.

BMO Harris Bank ruined the brand in the USA

I've had this card since 1998 and it was wonderful and incredibly useful until BMO Harris bought the brand in the USA. Years ago Diners Club used to guarantee that a real person would pick up the phone when you called customer service, and the customer service was A++++++. Now, any calls to customer service typically require a 20- to 40-minute hold. Any use of my card at a gas station flags the account for a fraud alert, so I have to call customer service to remove the fraud alert in order to continue using the card. The website is horrible, and is very difficult to find the proper place to login as it's being migrated to BMO Harris...and last weekend I couldn't login at all, even with over 2 hours on the phone with customer service ("Firefox doesn't work for all of our customers; try Chrome; try Safari"); none of them worked, but I was finally able to login using the DuckDuckGo browser on my phone. I've paid my balance in full every single month and on time since receiving the card, and have used it extensively, but I have now replaced it in my wallet with another card. I will keep the account open because it does still give you primary insurance coverage for rental cars (most cards offer only secondary coverage). It's probably a matter of time before that is taken away as well. Diners Club is owned by other banks/entities in other countries, and apparently works fine in most of those places, but the incompetence of BMO Harris has ruined it here in the USA. I feel bad for our wonderful Canadian neighbors who have to suffer with such awful and incompetent banks.

This card has become a joke

This card has become a joke! Try calling their customer service (30 minute wait - no callback feature). Agree with others - BMO's purchase has been a disaster. Member since 1996 - canceling today as I sit on hold and try to navigate their TERRIBLE website.

I have been a customer since the 1990s and never had issues until this new company bought out Diners Club. I pay of my credit card every month, but lately they have placed a hold on the funds for 7 days every single month, even after my online Diners account showed they received the payment. This causes my other automated payments to bounce and is costing late fees. I can't get a good resolution to this ridiculous hold every month. Each time I get a different explanation. The quality of service has gone from great to horrible.

Now that BMO has taken over Diners Club…

Now that BMO has taken over Diners Club North America, you as the consumer have zero consumer protection. You will get an ugly surprise if you ever want to dispute a charge, because the disputes department will not be filing your dispute, and it will be completely up to you to try to get your money back from unscrupulous merchants. Do yourself a favor and get an American Express card instead.

Diners Club's Quality Has Been Ruined By Its New Owners, BMO Financial Group / BMO Harris Bank NA

For me, Diners Club was the jewel of the credit / debit card industry. Its reputation, customer service, membership benefits, and rewards program were extremely good and always made me proud of being a Diners Club cardholder. However, the customer service of Diners Club has been, in my opinion, purely and simply destroyed lately, after Diners Club North America has been acquired by BMO Financial Group / BMO Harris Bank NA. My recent experience had arisen from the completely unjustified declination of my card payment at a merchant (allegedly because the merchant swiped the card instead of inserting it for chip reading in the machine, which is unbelievable…) and the temporary suspension of my card privileges by Diners Club Fraud Department, as well as from the treatment I then received from two customer service representatives in the Fraud Dept. when I called the very same day in order to resolve the issue (the representatives hung up on me twice, talked to me in a condescending manner and refused to provide me with their names and IDs). Subsequently, I decided to file and pursue a complaint against the Fraud Department of Diners Club and the respective process has shown me, first hand, the disastrous customer service at Diners Club and its new owners. During my unsuccessful attempts to obtain a resolution to my complaint I have been confronted with complete incompetence at the Diners Club customer service level, with lies and deception at the BMO Harris Bank N.A. Consumer Credit President and Retail & Business Payments Head levels, with total lack of empathy and unprofessionalism at the BMO Harris Bank N.A. Consumer Advocacy & Governance Director level and with absolute indifference at the BMO Harris Bank N.A. CEO level. Purely and simply disgraceful... For me, the new owners are certainly not worthy of the Diners Club name/brand and they have succeeded in staining Diners Club’s reputation forever. After 36 years of Diners Club membership I have cancelled my account.
