They do not do price adjustments

Thought the deal I got was pretty good, 40% off and $7.50 shipping. Received my tool and less than a week later their newest deal is for 50% off and $5.00 shipping. A difference of $20.50 for me. They would not do a price adjustment! I could understand if I had purchased several weeks or month prior, but again I had just received my order less than one week prior. Last time I'm going to purchase from them!

If you plan on using direct tools…Don’t!!!!

If you plan on using direct tools outlet on line my suggestion would be not to, in fact I will no longer purchase anything from the just because of there return policies for damaged goods in process of shipping. You cannot return item to store, I bought power washer for daughter had bent handle, she lived near one of there stores they would not exchange it unless she had a sales receipt, Son in law had the sales receipt I had purchased it with on line, would not take it! So I have bought a ton of stuff off them, but that will be my last purchase! Until they make major changes to there return polices if not oh well your lose not mine!

Can't be trusted

Can't be trusted. Offer free shipping and won't give it to you. Give you a discount code that doesn't work. More than doubled the price on the item I was trying to buy. False advertising

Ryobi Tools through Direct Tools have NO WARRANTY

I bought nearly $1000 worth of tools from Direct Tools Outlet. Most purchases were done online and a few were at the Williamsburg store. I did not save my invoices or receipts because they were all on my account online. My brushless impact wrench stopped working correctly and I went to sign in to get the invoice for warranty that Ryobi asked for. Well, when I signed into my account, Direct Tools had deleted all my previous purchases and invoices. Emailing them they claimed they updated their system and all previous account information was lost. So beware, this happened twice where my information just disappeared. I believe they just clear your account every year because there really is not a 2 year warranty on their products.

Don’t be a dummy …

I purchased a reconditioned RYOBI handheld mini-vac for $26+. The on/off switch was stuck in the off position. With much pressure I was able to force it into the on position and the device sputtered w poor vacuum force. So, I got a dud. I get it. It was reconditioned. How about sending me another one? I would have taken my chances. Instead of simply offering me a replacement I was set a return label which I used to return the lemon. Long story short, after fees, shipping etc. I was refunded $14. In my mind, they beat me out of $12+. Fool me once, shame on you. Cheat me twice, shame on you Direct Tools. Doing business with this outfit is a roll of the dice. Don’t be a dummy.

I ordered a product based on the website picture

I ordered a product based on the picture on their website.
The product I received was not the one pictured.
Seems the web site has the wrong picture with the product number listed.
So I returned it, but they refused to give a full refund.
They did not refund the original shipping charges.
Clearly not my error. How would I know the picture didn't match the part number.
Numerous emails and they continue to refuse to pay.
So be aware what you think you ordered may not be what you get. Since I contacted them about the error on their website, they don't seem interested in correcting. The wrong picture remains on the website. Gee I wonder how many other pictures misrepresent the product they will ship you.

Avoid

This business is one of the worst when dealing with a return or refund. If you ever have to have a refund they will treat you like it's their first time and give you the run around. It is impossible to speak to people who can influence change which leaves you without a product, your money and extremely frustrated. Candace and Jewel at customer service are worthless.

WRONG PRODUCT SHIPPED

i ordered a ridgid hammer drill kit sku R86001K and received a regular ridgid drill kit R86001K. upon calling was told to return and reorder . i balked saying i shouldn't have to pay the 20% restock fee and i want the 15.00 shipping of the first order returned. they said they will "TRY". this is not the way i've ever had a wrong product taken care of before. DISAPPOINTED (order# DT560410 )

Item never sent and terrible service

I placed an order for 3 items and received notification that they were being sent in 2 shipments. I received the first item and the next day the 2nd package arrived but there was only 1 item in the box. The third item was not included and the box was not big enough to have fit the other item.

I placed NUMEROUS calls and emails to customer support. Nobody on the phone was able to help and they just said it was being escalated to Mgmt. The people corresponding through emails would take a day to respond and they would not even read what I said so I would have to repeat what I said and wait another day. This has been going on for 10 days now and still cant get a resolution.

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Hart 20v…

I purchased a ‘blemished’ Hart 20v cordless lopper kit from Direct Tools online. Upon arrival I noted that battery supplied would not take a charge (blinking red light on charger). Contacted Hart customer support and they said new battery would be sent out in a couple of weeks (still waiting). Will update if/when new battery arrives.

Ordered some saw blades and saw on…

Ordered some saw blades and saw on April 30th 2024. Blades arrived a few weeks later with a note in the package saying the saw would be sent separately due to inventory issues. Called several times since then hearing promises they will send the saw right away and I would be getting a confirmation email. Never received the saw, never received an email. Time for small claims court? It's now early July.

Disappointing Customer Service…

Disappointing Customer Service Experience
I have purchased from Direct Tools Factory Outlet a number of times and have not had a problem. I believe mostly due to buying items that are categorized as factory blemished tools. I purchased a Miter Saw Stand that was categorized reconditioned. Unfortunately with this purchase, my experience with their customer service has left much to be desired. The original Stand Delivered can in a broken box and was missing the required hardware to complete assembly. I raised an issue with Direct Tools Factory Outlet support and the staff's lack of attentiveness and professionalism was disappointing. I have encountered a disorganized and chaotic response with staff members seemingly more preoccupied blaming Ridgid than attending to some sort of workable solution. Despite my attempts to seek assistance, the response from the staff was indifferent and unhelpful. Furthermore, when I inquired about my order, I was met with a dismissive attitude from the representative, who seemed disinterested in addressing my questions or providing any meaningful assistance. This lack of engagement and willingness to assist customers was deeply concerning and reflected poorly on the store's commitment to customer satisfaction. The subpar customer service I experienced at Direct Tools Factory Outlet was a significant letdown. As a customer, I value understand that things happen. I sincerely hope that the management takes proactive steps to address these service issues and prioritize the training and development of their staff to ensure a more positive customer experience in the future.

Waste of time and money

Not a good experience for me. I tried using them to get a Ryobi leaf blower and battery that was a "factory blemish" and was sent an unusable item with the handle thread bolt stipped the plastic inside that held the other side of the bolt so I could not even insert the battery. I had to go through two reps repeating my entire problem and they never emailed the return shipping label but after contacting them again I received it. Then instead of replacing the blower as I asked, after they had my returned item for ten days, the just issued a refund instead so after about seventeen days I had no tool to do what I needed to do, even though when they received my blower they still had the item showing in stock. If you look them up in BBB you will see a lot of complaints so I wish I looked there before letting them waste my time and gasoline. Big thumbs down!

Small Savings but Big Problems

Prices reasonable but you are screwed if product defective. Direct Tools sent me a non functional Ryobi rotary tool that was described as having only cosmetic blemishes. Clearly it was more than blemishes, of which i saw none. It was likely returned by someone else due to it not working. I didn’t open it up and test it within 30 days and thus it requires going to Ryobi for service. Can’t return it even though i’ve never used it. The closest Ryobi service center is three hours away. I can ship it there at my expense. If I had spent about 15% more at amazon or at home depot i could have exchanged for another one for free. I won’t ever order from Direct Tools again, not worth the small savings.

Great products

Great products, great discounts snd better than average shipping speeds. I have had no problems and i am a great fan of Ryobi tools.

Worst company I've ever ordered from!

Placed an order for 2 garden tools. They notified me that it would take up to 20 days to process my order and another 1-2 weeks for delivery. I chose to cancel my order. After multiple emails and replies, they still have not refunded my money for 12 days. They kept saying that it would be in my account within 24-48 hours. I still have not received it. They are the worst business to order from. It has taken weeks to receive previous orders. And they always come banged up and packaged poorly.

Former Fan

Direct Tool used to be one of my favorite places to shop for tools. In the past year, I've noticed a steady decline in shipping speeds, to an ultimate point of waiting 8 business day for an order. When no updates were given about my most recent order, I called customer service (great representative- this review has no bearing on her), and I was told that the website should have been updated to say an 8 day MINIMUM, with orders taking up to 20 business days to ship. In today's day and age, with mass communication being widely available, web design that a child can manage, and constant access to communication tools, it is ridiculous to not inform customers about that long of a shipping issue. This leads me to the conclusion that management at Direct Tool has tanked, as indicated by the deceptive business practices.

Years ago, I wasn't living in the best situation and had to essentially live in a house that was under constant repair and renovation. At my local Direct Tool store, the workers got personally invested in my projects, one regularly went out of his way to make tool suggestions (even going against sales if he thought I didn't need something) and would explain resources I could use to reduce project costs.

I know Direct Tool has amazing employees because I've experienced it first hand. I am in disbelief that the company has sunk this low to take almost a month to ship orders and not be up front about it.

I love this place

I love this place, they have the same Ryobi tools that Home Depot sells but, for a lot less. They offer a 1 year warrantee and I have bought at least 8 18-Volt tools from them so far and all have worked perfect!
