The Edge Your Child Needs in the Age of AI

In this age of AI, I find Doyobi to be the easiest and most progressive way to give my daughter immersion in highly relevant, cutting-edge, real-world topics and scenarios, while applying skills that will actually prepare her for the "real world" and set her apart from the crowd academically. The quality and richness of the content blows my mind, and the live gaming-based, hosted, interactive interface is very good. There are few products out there so thoughtfully put together with such direct relevance to preparing our children for the future. I'd definitely recommend it.

Unique experience

My child enjoys it, the team communicates with me and it's an experience that I can't get elsewhere. It's intangible but not every building block in a child's life needs to be tangible.

Refreshingly different

Their current curriculum is designed to challenge kids to solve problems effectively and think independently, which is refreshingly different from the traditional classroom environment.
When the curriculum evolved to introduce life skills to kids ages 8-12, Team Doyobi always made us feel welcome and supported.
I love the fact that the lessons are always purposeful and aim to address relevant global issues. Exposure and a holistic appreciation of these issues will help Gab navigate the world more confidently in future.
As a mom, what makes me impressed by Doyobi is seeing how Gab is always excited to see her new friends in class and she shares so much about her experiences in their virtual worlds.
Seeing this positive attitude from Gab is a big win. Learning comes easily when the child is open and enjoying.

Teaching kids to problem solve!

My son thoroughly enjoyed his experience in the Doyobi Metaverse. From speaking to him afterwards (and a bit of eavesdropping) I was amazed at how all the kids worked together - identifying goals, evaluating options, prioritizing and executing. To them it was a fun game, but they were actually learning how to problem solve! Kind of eye opening in terms of what 9 year olds are capable of if we only give them a chance :)

The kids rated it "11 out of 10"

My children (10yo and 8yo) absolutely love the Doyobi classes and workshops! They rated every session "eleven out of ten", they loved the "quest" format, and they've maintained a great connection to their teacher Ms Penny. The types of problems they solved were fun but required a lot of great planning and critical thinking skills.

Highly recommend this to parents looking for engaging digital learning experiences for their little ones!

Different and very important!

Doyobi is a very different kind of learning. The kids are engaged in fun tasks, like fighting zombies who invade their city or negotiating with a dragon for the ingredients to make a potion to save the world. And while saving the world, kids are guided to learn and use skills like critical thinking, negotiation, problem solving, creativity, financial literacy, digital safety etc... All super important skills for the world today and in the future.

I love that my kids are learning all these skills, not in a sterile classroom environment and not feeling like they are in a lesson or being taught. I was rather impressed when I overheard the kids having all these "worldly" discussions abt refugees or debating the tourist dollar vs. conservation.

It is really an engaging, well-thought through and well-delivered product. Highly recommend!

A sincere EdTech product to learn life skills

I signed my daughter (age 10) up with Doyobi after a good friend who is very savvy with education and children development highly recommended Doyobi. She said that Doyobi teaches life skills, communication skills and team work. These are skills which I want my daughter to have, so I signed up.

We have experienced about 10 sessions so far. These are the strengths I see in Doyobi:

1) Encourages creativity and independent thinking: I noticed that my daughter was given tasks and missions that are open-minded in nature. There were no clear right or wrong answers but lots of room for discussion and personal views.

2) Happy and self-directed: I was also heartened to see that my daughter was upbeat after each session, and looked forward to more. I wish I could say that for tuition and school.

3) Collaborative work: Participants are not pit against one another but work together towards resolving conflicts or accomplishing a mission.

4) Attractive and engaging themes and missions: The themes are very current and thoughtfully designed. Some that I noticed were solving an environmental crisis, appeasing a dragon, facing off with some aliens, working with AI and robots.

5) Gamified interface: The interface is like those simple yet addictive RPGs. The commands are easy to pick up. It can certainly be better but being simple has its beauty. It does not take the focus away from the interaction among participants.

6) Skillful facilitation: The facilitators are able to elicit feedback from participants while guiding them to think creatively and critically. My only complaint was that my daughter was so excited during one of the barter trade sessions that she was almost shouting throughout the session. I guess she might have potential to be a stock trader.

7) Offers a chance to interact with children from different backgrounds: I noticed that other participants in my daughter’s session were from other countries. Some of them might be children of expats who were in international schools here. It was heartening to see that my daughter was able to communicate with them naturally.

8) Post-lesson reviews: I appreciate the post-sessions short reports that were sent to me. At least I know what has gone on during the sessions.

Great platform for kids to learn world issues

My girl, Primary 4 this year, looks forward to her session of Doyobi every week. I see her communicating a lot with the other users, planning, strategising, instructing and following instructions. They seem to have a lot of fun!

In addition, with the platform, I feel assured that it's a "controlled" environment, not just open for anyone to come in.

Doyobi creates relevant topics for…

Doyobi creates relevant topics for kids to discuss, among themselves. Current events are good to keep the kids in the loop of what’s going on in the world and how to give power of communication to young minds to brainstorm and solve problems. This, ultimately open doors for young minds, to be more involved and responsible about the issues around them. While school focuses on getting kids to pass examination.

A fun way for a kid to learn about the world

Doyobi enables my kid (10 to 11 years old) to participate in simulated real world projects that explores various facets of the world, which includes nature, robots, AI.

The knowledge learnt from the classes is only one facet of doyobi programme.

Another more important learning outcome from the programme is empowering my kid to develop critical thinking (being curious about a problem and asking questions) and team work (participating as a team member in the conversation).

After each lesson, I’m happy to see my kid excited to share about her learnings and her thought on the issue/problem (quests) raised.

Creative, Inspiring and Real-World Relevant

Creative, inspiring, real-world-relevant and learner-oriented programming led and delivered by a passionate team. Both my child and I felt well-supported, that our feedback was valued, and that we were part of a meaningful community.

Definitely different from school.

My son attends the class with Doyobi. He learns a lot of things, from critical thinking, communication, metaverse even design (because the metaverse design is so cute and my son like to copy the layout, etc).
My only concern is just the price. Hopefully it can stay affordable.
Thank you.

Doyobi: Guiding Kids to Think, Understand, Learn and Create

Doyobi delivers a true learning experience. Children are introduced to topics such as climate change, artificial intelligence and human augmentation drawn from real world contexts, and encouraged to understand the opportunities and concerns that belie these areas of global interest. I love how the Doyobi platform and content is carefully designed to interest and engage a global classroom, and connect kids from diverse backgrounds and abilities to think, understand, learn and create through group discussions and individual reflection. The facilitators are friendly, knowledgeable and yet firm in guiding the learning process so that it is meaningful and productive. My 11 year-old and 7 year-old are ready and eager to be at Doyobi every week. I never have to remind or hurry them to log on. Doyobi is never boring. It truly offers experiential learning that has to be experienced to be understood.

Leadership skills for a quiet kid

My 8yo has been with Doyobi for about two months at the time of this review.

What attracted me to Doyobi was the promise that my child would find her voice, recognise why it is important to speak up and appreciate why her own opinion matters.

Two months in and while she is still a quiet child, she gets really excited and passionate during the student-led discussions in class. The facilitators do a great job of ensuring it's a safe and supportive environment - they nudge discussions in a calm and firm manner and remind all participants to be respectful. They also ensure quieter kids have room to speak.

The role-playing aspect of it is really great - my 8yo feels a sense of responsibility to the people she represents; and she knows if she doesn't speak up, their interests and opinions won't be heard. It's a realistic representation of how it works in the real world, without pressure or nagging from an adult to speak up.

I think this is the first class of its kind where I've seen kids excited to turn up early to learn and discuss the clues from the last session to crack the mystery.

Highly recommended for any child who isn't confident about having his or her own opinion, or is shy about speaking with others.

Notes: Not recommended if your child cannot use the mouse independently, move with arrow keys or do simple things like click links.
