Smooth experience even during a challenging time
I joined EA Ski & Snowboard for a season in Canada (Cypress Mountain) during the peak of the pandemic, transitioning internationally from Japan as a European — which could have been complicated, but the team made it feel surprisingly smooth.
They were incredibly supportive with visas, logistics, and accommodation, and communication was always clear. Even during uncertain times, I felt well guided and supported throughout the entire process.
Once in Canada, the experience exceeded expectations. The ski school offered great (and free) training for instructors, the environment was welcoming and supportive, and I was able to grow a lot both in my skiing and teaching. It was also an incredibly fun season — I made long-lasting friendships and still look back on it very fondly.
Overall, what stands out is how well EA combines solid organization with a genuinely positive experience on the ground. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone considering a ski season abroad.
My EA Journey to Mentorship
I had a great experience with EA, starting the internship in Niseko, Japan. The training was well structured and high quality, enabling me to confidently achieve both my Level 1 and Level 2 snowboard instructing certifications within the season. It provided a strong base for my instructing career, working immediately after passing exams, ensuring there was no gap between skill aquisition and real world experience.
Now, stepping into the EA Program Mentor role for the 2026 New Zealand ski season at Mt Hutt feels like a full-circle moment. I'm proud to be helping a program that launches careers and builds capable, inspiring instructors.
I believe EA is more than a certification pathway — it’s a career accelerator, a support hub, and a genuinely fun experience where you make great connections and meet so many amazing like-minded people.

Nakiska ski szn
I was very nervous about doing a ski szn and ea made the whole process so easy and explained everything to me as I was really confused. The person I was in contact with allowed me to email her whenever and answered my questions really well. Once I got to Canada, EA got me to the resort and trained me for my level one making sure I passed. It’s a brilliant program I defo recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a go

Positive experience with EA Ski and the team
We’ve had such a positive experience so far with EA Ski. From the very beginning, the support, communication and guidance have been excellent.
Our son is currently in Japan and absolutely loving his time there. He’s learning an incredible amount, throwing himself into every opportunity, and really growing in confidence. A huge part of that is down to how well everything has been organised and supported. Knowing he’s in safe hands has made the whole process so much easier for us as parents.
Ray has been fantastic throughout. Always approachable, encouraging and clear, whether answering big questions or small worries. He’s made the whole process feel easy and reassuring.
There’s a real sense that EA Ski genuinely care about the people they’re helping, not just the programme. We’re already looking ahead to the next stages of training, which says a lot about how positive this experience has been.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend EA Ski, and especially Ray, to anyone considering this path.

Julie and team!
Julie, Eddie, and the whole team were fantastic. They were very responsive and friendly. It is quite a gamble to send a child who is fresh out of high school halfway around the world to a completely new situation in a different country, but Julie and the team made sure all of our questions were answered and explained thoroughly. That made all the difference for us!
My son made a lot of great friends, had the opportunity to explore a new part of the world, doing the thing he loves the most--skiing--with other people who love it just as much. He had the experience of living, working, and training with 12 others from all around the world and of different ages, and I know this is an experience he will remember for the rest of his life.
Thank you to EA, it was a spectacular experience.

2025 Mt Hutt Internship
I recently completed the EA Ski and Snowboard internship program at Mount Hutt and couldn’t be happier with my experience. A massive highlight of the program was the two weeks of intensive training, which came with a guaranteed job offer once we passed our exam. The training was incredibly thorough and practically set us up for success in passing our Level 1 exams.
One of the standout aspects for me was being paired with our EA mentor, Morgan. He was not only knowledgeable but also extremely helpful, approachable, and inclusive, always ensuring we felt supported and confident throughout the process. His guidance made a huge difference in both my learning and my overall experience.
It’s true that the program comes with a hefty price tag, and at first glance, it can feel like a significant investment. However, after experiencing the instruction, training, mentorship, guaranteed job placement, and everything else in between, I can confidently say it’s worth every dollar. The skills, confidence, and connections you gain are priceless.
Overall, I would highly recommend EA Ski and Snowboard training to anyone serious about taking their skills to the next level and launching a career in snow sports.

EA Mt Hutt 2025 Season
Royally recommend!
Before getting to Nz and deciding whether to take the jump and then all the pre travel admin, Ray\Izzie from the team were super helpful and answered my many questions both via email and organised calls to - they were super helpful, friendly and rapid responders.
Since arriving in Nz, we were assigned an EA Mentor, Morgan, who helped us every step of the way. He greeted us all at the airport and then was our first point of re any questions about the course/mountain/Methven (where we were staying). He was worth his weight in gold, as you can imagine being in a new country (NZ) so far from home (UK), he was vital in helping settle us in rapidly, and created an environment in the group so we more easily built bonds between the group of 8 of us who were on the course. Once we passed our exams he then helped us settle into the staff room with the other instructors too. To save writing a book, I’ll just give one example of how above and beyond he went with his duties and care for us and our experience - there were so many more though! After a couple of weeks of training, my boots were getting really loose, I took them to the local shop in Methven and was told I was sold a whole size too big. I didn’t know what to do, so messaged Morgan and straight away he called the shop I bought them from to try and sort, and called the EA head for support and helped me try and get this sorted as quick as possible. I was so grateful for how supportive and proactive his was - Big thanks Morgan.
Methven is a fab village and I’m so glad I chose Mt Hutt - there’s a proper warm and friendly community. It’s a small village with no public transport so I recommend sharing getting a car with a group of people, otherwise hitch hiking is possible and easy to do, and you meet so many interesting people.
The Mt Hutt work team are great too. Super open so settling in was easy. For employers / colleagues they were so supportive and shared tips and tricks when we were struggling.
I would say it is quite a pricey course, but for the experience and support both before coming out, and throughout when in out in Nz, it is worth it.
Having a blast and it’s made me want to sign up for another season!
Thanks Team :)

EA training was a very fun and productive experience for me. I chose the mount Hutt option with the guaranteed job offer upon completion of training. I met a lot of great people, both those who were involved in the training, and those getting trained alongside me. The program did a great job integrating us into the job and mountain life. I felt very prepared for my level 1 exam when the time came. It’s quite an investment but one that I already am happy I made.

Ripoff
All courses offered by EA Ski and Snowboard are a complete and total ripoff. You are paying more than $10,000 for what amounts to a job offer. Our accomodation was cancelled from what was promised and we ended up in the most disgusting, cheap and dingy accomodation that could be found. Many peoples preferred locations were cancelled, no compensation was provided and no help was offered. Their visa help amounts to 'search it up' and they are completely inept at supporting new young travellers overseas and should absolutely not be trusted with your money. Credit where credit is due, the actual in person staff were helpful to an extent but its too overshadowed by the horrific cost, lack of support before getting over to the country and the terrible conditions they set you up in. let alone the lack of compensation.
If you want to go overseas and work doing this sort of thing, book the training independantly from EA, work another job until you are trained and then apply that way for whatever mountain you would like. Many of my friends and co-workers were not given anywhere near enough shifts to support themselves on, we were given no help to find appropriate accomodation outside of the terrible original accomodation. The people you meet, the training provided and the job OPPERTUNITY (not 100% you will get it) are the ONLY things that you're really paying for. Plenty of other companies do it better (we are sno, Snowmids etc.) DO NOT go with EA.

Queenstown 5 week training level 1 experience.
Would highly recommend this course. EA organised pretty much everything including accommodation, ski pass, buses to training. Worth the cost imo to have all this sorted for you. Ray was super helpful on the lead up to my course and Kang / Eddie / Izzie were welcoming and attentive throughout the stay in QT.
Queenstown is brilliant, definitely come here over Wanaka - so much going on.
The ski training was really high quality and made the exam a breeze. Many of the people in the exam obviously weren’t with EA and hadn’t done a training programme. It’s still quite easy to pass the level 1 if you have a decent base level and good understanding of what they are looking for (body movements etc). If you are a good skier, it’s worth thinking about sitting the lvl 1 exam without training and then training for lvl 2.

Kang and Izzy did a great job with all the organising and onboarding! The program gave all the training needed to help pass the exam, and covered the accommodation, exam cost, training, etc. Kang was super supportive, especially when I had some trouble and he was there to help.
If you want to become a ski instructor, this course will cover all your bases!

How to be an instructor and have a break from routine for a bit
I have been in Banff CA for the eleven week program and I have to say everything went smoothly.
Made lots of friends, had a lot of opportunities in growing my abilities in skiing and snowboarding, besides having the chance to always ride with friends. Julz, who was our person of reference, she has been always sweet and super helpful, passionate and available for everyone and everything.
Cherry on top I know have a work offer as an instructor also thank to their “sponsorship” in the ski resort.
Would recommend to anyone who just want to ski for 3 month.

What a Season!!
I spent the season out in Revy, it was awesome! The snow was epic and I had an amazing time as an instructor!
EA made everything so easy, helped me out with my visa, and was so supportive throughout the whole process. Izzie was great too, helping me out a lot even after we had arrived.
Made friends for life and am planning on heading to New Zealand next year, and EA are helping me with a job there as well!!
