I’ve been using EcoGPT for a while now, and it’s honestly become one of my fav apps overall. The interface is clean, it’s easy to use, and I like that it gives thoughtful responses without feeling overly complicated. What really stood out to me, though, is the mission behind it. It’s refreshing to see an AI company focused on being more resource efficient while also funding tree planting through usage. It’s nice knowing I can use an app that’s genuinely useful for everyday questions, brainstorming, and research while supporting something that’s trying to have a positive environmental impact. Definitely worth checking out!

I'm a big fan of all things eco-friendly and environmentally conscious, so finding an AI that helps lessen the negative impact of AI on the environment has been a gamechanger! The general UI of the app is also very user-friendly and enjoyable in the way it presents your environmental impact. So glad apps like this exist

EcoGPT has no valid evidence for their claims & are deliberately making abusive undisclosed ads to people online. They are charging their consumers for absolutely nothing, thus abusing their consumers & are even making their advertisers become abusive to people online who use AI, just for the sake of profit instead of making genuine criticism about AI's environmental problems & trying to build genuine solutions to AI's problems, they don't publish where they plant the trees. They don't have experts in climate science, AI, meteorology, architecture, geography, urban planning, regional science, regional planning, built environment studies, regional studies, crop science, agronomy, agricultural science, ecology, aquaculture, hydroculture, hydroponics, technology, environmental studies, environmental science, sustainability studies, sustainability science, marine biology, oceanography, atmospheric science, agricultural business, farm business management, crop & livestock production, land management, agriculture, botany, hydrology, limnology, geology, & other fields that study plants, water, sustainability, the environment, & AI backing them up, in fact there are barely any computer scientists that have even noticed EcoGPT, & there are no peer-reviewed papers that are even confirming anything close to their claims, in fact there are nearly no academic papers, no research papers, no concept papers, no position papers, no data publications, no video papers, no review articles, no survey papers, & no technical papers at all on EcoGPT. At best, an assistant professor named Udit Gupta with a PhD in computer science who teaches environmental sustainability, computer architecture, machine learning, & computer systems & who's focus of research is on co-designing solutions in computing stack made EcoGPT, a greenwashing AI that is basically a Deepseek wrapper or a Llama wrapper which is just so slightly better than ChatGPT, but not as much better as many EcoGPT advocates claim it to be & is not an eco-friendly AI. EcoGPT won't save the planet. Udit Gupta should pay for scamming AI users & for making advocates of EcoGPT become abusive to AI users online. Honestly any Local AI is way better than EcoGPT, because they do not require any data center in order to function, Local AI only needs local processing in order to function, EcoGPT stills needs data centers to function as it is an AI that still requires cloud processing. The real solutions to the problems in AI are serious AI regulation, better AI governance, more serious accountability in AI, minimising reliance on AI, holding the people in charge of AI more severely accountable, more serious education, more serious training & learning, & democratic oversight of AI.

I use EcoGPT as my default now. I love what they're doing for the environment and also have found the AI to run very well. It's great for when I need quick answers like "what should I make for dinner" but it also helps me with more complex things like my year-round marathon training schedules and helping me stay organized with work. I love knowing that I am helping them plant trees while using it. Overall, it's great.

the only truly sustainable option if you want to use AI

I use ecogpt regularly for my daily tasks and some trivia questions. the responses are fast and thoughtful. Best part is they plant trees and are saving our planet. Can't recommend them enough.

i've been using ecogpt for a while now and I've switched over from gemini completely. it's just as fast and helpful, but the big thing is that it feels really good to use it since every interaction actually helps the environment through planting tress, and it's much more efficient too. the community around it (shoutout to the discord) also makes it feel less like a product and more like a movement of people who actually care about the impact AI is having on nature. highly recommend if you want something that gives back to the environment
