Overall, we were very pleased with the whole process from start to finish.

We knew nothing about solar systems, but James was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Our initial conversation on the phone gave us some initial insight which James followed up by email. He then spent a couple of hours with us at our property taking us through the whole process and how and where the system would be installed. This was followed up with a written quotation. There was never any pressure to purchase.

Once we had agreed to go-ahead James managed the required approval from the Grid to install our system and kept us fully updated until it was received.

We agreed an installation date, and everything went to plan and on time, from the scaffolding being erected to the installation being completed. The MCS certification was provided on the day of completion along with the required Grid information and James helped us apply for our Export with Octopus.

All the workmen that James used were professional, polite and courteous. The work was clean and tidy.

We have had no issues with the system since installation over 5 weeks ago and the couple of queries that we have had since were very quickly answered.

The installation went smoothly and we are happy with quality of the workmanship. The in roof solar system looks modern and we have had lots of compliments about the design.
All certification paperwork and MCS certificate were provided.
The support post installation has also been excellent with James answering any queries straight away.

We had a solar & battery system installed by a company that went into liquidation and James came to look at one of the batteries that kept switching off intermittently. He noticed a number of problems that, whilst not stopping the system working, were not correct. James explained the issues in clear & concise language that I understood, offered to allow me to switch our monitoring over to his company & left. There was no pressure to pay his company to correct the faults at all. I felt reassured.

I approached HIES to enquire on the insurance backed warranty but was advised that having paid partially on credit card I needed to follow section 75 in the first instance.

Again, James to the rescue (not all heroes wear capes!) he came and spent several hours going over our total system, taking photos etc and produced a comprehensive report for my credit card company. This process took from June 2024 until early February 2025 so not a quick process at all. James and I stayed in contact throughout and I was relieved to have him there in case of any issues.

James offered a couple of alternatives to us including a new larger inverter and battery capacity. We discussed each option and we opted to keep our existing set up plus an extra battery, James explained the new set up, additional requirements due to regulatory changes. Again, very patient, no pressure and the planning & communication throughout has been brilliant.

James and Jacek arrived early Monday and worked until late to remove and reinstall. The difference is staggering.

All in All - I'd definitely recommend James to anyone (& that's unusual for me!) wish we'd found him first time around but such is life.

I had a bit of a strange one. Had a solar system installed by another company that went bust. I started having faults, was going round in circles. James identified the fault (very poor install), was super helpful, supportive and very patient through the section 75 credit card claim (to remove and reinstall) and spent many hours helping me. (Trying to solve it without a section 75 claim first and then supporting me through the section 75 claim with evidence, regulations, etc)

I thought I knew a lot about solar after doing all my research but James knowledge is fantastic and so much better than big company sales persons. From a G99 application (that a number of solar installers did not know about), through to system design suggesting a different battery size that I thought I did not need (I was wrong!).

I really appreciated the lack of pressure, the support and the going out of his way to help.

The planning, contract process (I read every document and felt no pressure to skip bits), roofers, delivery of kit (even with a delivery hick up) installation went really well with lots of communication and letting me know what the next steps were.

The electrician Jacek was great too. Clearly knew the regs in depth too, suggested changes when what I wanted did not comply and was very helpful.

Post installation was great as well, the pack of documents, warranties, info, etc was explained and received promptly. Also the system demo was very useful too.

Having had the unfortunate luck to have two solar installs I can compare the experiences and this was 11+ out of 10!

As an aside I love the fox inverter compared to the Sunsync. No fan so no noise (I could hear the Sunsync through the garage wall), better battery discharge rate and a nice battery stack so less space on the wall! And the panels without the lines look great too!

It’s now around 3 months since my solar - battery system was installed by Eco Switch.

From initial site visit through to and beyond installation the level of service has been exceptional, I sincerely wish more companies were half this good.

The level of product knowledge and quality of advice given was first rate, the system designed to my needs.

We’ve now had our solar for 5 months and we are so happy with the performance albeit through the winter months. The minefield of solar nearly sent me crackers looking at the different companies and options. I spoke to several companies but for some reason James at Eco Switch made a positive impression with his passion for doing the job right. Don’t confuse this with a salesman selling you the dream. James guided us through the specification, how it all worked, why some things would be a good investment (batteries) and not so good (UPS). We chose James over the others and so pleased we did. The installation team were superb and made such a neat and tidy job and very efficient too. I’m more than happy answer any questions that anyone has.

After looking into sola for about a year different panels and batteries and what would be best took the plunge.
Open the flood gates to all the ex window salesmen and cowboys trying to sell you cheep tat for full price when asked questions they had to ring the office for information.
Then all the bull about discounts as we are fitting in your area it was time to show them the door.
Then found Eco switch gave them a call,
I arranged a meeting James who came and we had a very good meeting he knowledge on the equipment was top notch he did a proper site inspection and came up with a plan of work as nothing was straight forward from accessing the roof to location of the batteries and getting the cables under the house to the meter.
We agreed a price and a date and even though the weather was against them 4 inch of snow the job was completed on time all and all the guys very professional.
The after service from James with the paperwork and setting brilliant I would recommend James and the Eco switch team to any one thinking about sola.

Although I’m not exactly a customer I wish I was. We have an uncommon set up, an all electric household with batteries and an EPS switch. We had the batteries and switch installed to mitigate the consequences of planned power outages, which haven’t happened yet. They also save us money because we can make good use of off peak electricity.

The supplier led me to believe we would be able to discharge the batteries down to 5% but we can only get to 15%. They went bust before fixing this. We then had a fault and I found a company to fix it from the website of the inverter supplier, Sunsynk. They did this but weren’t interested in trying to get to the bottom of the discharging problem. So I went back to the Sunsynk website and made a few phone calls. James from Eco Switch Improvements has been very helpful. If I was starting from scratch I would be more than happy to use his company.

James put himself out to help. To cut a long story short he established with Sunsynk that the discharging problem is down to the software in the batteries and that because my supplier went bust there is no way to get it upgraded. Well at least I now know what the problem is. If I have any more problems, or want to improve the system, I will definitely use Eco Switch Improvements.

We had our system installed over a year ago and I can honestly say this has been the best purchase I have ever made.
From start to finish our experience was first class. Eco Switch are very open and upfront about the costs and gave us assurance about the installation to put our minds at ease. Everything was installed as promised and with minimal disruption. Since then, we have been provided first rate after care as the system is monitored meaning we can literally forget about it.
We opted for a system that includes batteries, which is a must if you can afford it. The savings speak for themselves. More than £2,200 saved in less than 18 months. This includes export as well as self generation. We would save even more but for the fact we run a hot tub from about April to August so could make even more from export if we didn’t.
All I can say is what I say to everyone about solar, if you are thinking of doing it, stop thinking and just do it because the sooner you get it, the sooner you will start saving. I would definitely use Eco Switch again without hesitation.

We had been considering solar panels and battery storage for some time and finally decided that we should at least have a quotation, as at that time we had no idea how much it would cost. Our local Facebook group was showing very good reviews for Eco Switch so we invited James Bennion (the owner of the company), to call to see us.

James was very professional yet friendly and was incredibly knowledgeable. He was clearly very much about ensuring that the work meets all current regulations and recommended standards so we felt totally confident that he wouldn't do a 'cowboy' job and would make sure that everything is done just right. With something like solar energy the customer has to trust that the professional knows what they're talking about. The price of the quotation he offered we felt was very reasonable.

Our project was delayed for a short while as regulations/recommendations changed immediately before our installation. This meant a change of design of the system from the batteries being stored in the attic to them being placed in a bespoke small shed outside. James handled these changes in his stride.

The installation finally went ahead in May 2024. James coordinated all necessary trades such as the builder, electrician and scaffolder and everyone always turned up when they said they would.

James and his team did an excellent, neat job with attention to detail, and they removed all waste away from site.

At no time at all did we feel pressured to sign up and we were given opportunites to change our mind about going ahead when the original design needed to change.

All necessary paperwork and certificates were speedily sent to us and the after installation support we have received from James has been amazing. He has been very patient with all of our questions.

We have already saved hundreds of £'s so we are really pleased we decided to go with solar energy and it helps the environment too.

We checked out two other companies before we chose James at Ecoswitch on the personal recommendation of a friend.
The quotation was very informative with lots of extra emailed specifications of panels, batteries etc. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured, in fact the whole process took a few months while we considered our options. As a plus point the extra time enabled us to have higher spec panels as they are constantly evolving. In addition, with all the extra knowledge our aspirations changed and James tailored the system so that we could be as self sufficient as possible.Throughout James kept in touch answering questions and explaining any delays eg bureaucracy, delivery etc.
The actual installation was very efficient with scaffolders, roofers (to install panels) and electricians coming and going with great precision. Incidentally the scaffolding was up for less than a week. James was in attendance every day supervising and ensuring a smooth high quality installation, even going up on to the roof to check on things. He and Jacek the electrician took great care to ensure that extra circuitry required to run during power cuts was as unobtrusive as possible.
Paperwork and MCS certification were promptly provided so that we could export our spare power to the grid.
Since installation James has remained in touch both to check all is well and answer any further queries.
