Ian has just installed a new staircase for us . We have used him many times over the last ten years . He is professional with a very high quality of workmanship . Would highly recommend

We've used Ian for several jobs with another lined up soon (to replace external doors). He's replaced and re-tiled/refurbed two showers, replaced kitchen cupboard door-fronts (and painted carcasses in matching colour) and all associated decorating, fitted some outdoors lighting, etc. Quality work, decent prices, and a professional and nice fella.

Ian is highly professional and trustworthy, he has the ability to deliver a first class result but can also suggest creative ideas to improve on your original idea, Ians workmanship is not only first class but he is very clean and tidy when completing the job

Really impressed with Ian and his company which is a really professional outfit. He designed some bespoke storage shelving for a small utility cupboard to help give more space in my 1 bed flat.

He came and spent a long time talking through my requirements then sketched a design for my approval. It was very well thought out maximising the space available and was in-keeping with the general aesthetic of the flat. His pricing was transparent and fair and he was able to fit me in fairly quickly once I accepted the quote.

His craftmanship was immaculate, just as per the design and in fact exceeded my expectations.

I am very happy with the quality of the shelving and the general service and would go to Ian again for sure. On top of that he is a thoroughly friendly and nice bloke and it was a pleasure to chat with him while he installed the shelving.

Ian has done a brilliant job of tiling my kitchen and installing Wainscoting/paneling in the hallway & stairs which was a technical challenge. Very accurate and professionally done all round.

Ian carried out the extensive redecoration of walls and replacement of skirting following a burst pipe. All work was completed to a very high standard and water staining never returned.

Ian designed and created a floor to ceiling walk in wardrobe for our new build home. I have to say that having dealt with previous traders, I had little expectations. From the moment we had our initial meeting, Ian completely changed my view and exceeded our expectations. The finished product was beyond what we expected. We had our bathroom completely refurbished. Ian did a great job for us. He helped with design, unexpected problems and completed work to high standard. There was never a mess left after day’s work. Ian was always tidy, organised, even worked around our toddler’s nap making sure noisier jobs were done when he was awake or out! Ian did tiling, pipe work etc even carpentry to fit doors and built -in shelving. Great result! We are very pleased with our new bathroom.I would recommend Ian for sure!

I had several jobs done and services provided by Effigy already and everything to the highest standard. Ian has custom built a wardrobe and decorated kids’ room, with great attention to details and plenty of valuable advice.
He has also helped creating more storage space in the kitchen, where I though no more storage could be added... managed to match extra kitchen units exactly with the existing cupboards, tiled the kitchen and it now looks fantastic!
Ian is friendly, reliable, accommodating and extremely tidy. :)

Took off all the corrugated tiles on my outside sheds and replaced with flat tiles looks great 👍 very tidy cleared up after the job.

Having recently changed my boiler for a combi boiler, making the hotwater tank redundant, I asked Effigy to create an airing cupboard in the space that had previously housed the hot water tank. This space sat within a walk-in cupboard in the spare room. Effigy took time to discuss with me various alternative options, and provided a quote for the work involved, including the removal of the door frame into the original walk-in cupboard, and the stud wall above it to the ceiling, thus extending the space in the room.
Also included in our initial discussion were options to box-in the numerous pipes beneath the new combi-boiler, and options to replace a temporary loft hatch with something that would fit closely in order to exclude cold air escaping into the stairwell from the roof space above.
Effigy's subsequent quote was both detailed and reasonable and the work went ahead. The result is very successful. Effigy have created a bespoke and beautifull airing cupboard, large enough to accommodate all my linen, towels and spare bedding, with slatted pine shelving, each slat sanded smooth... and a tubular airing cupboard heater... with ventilation holes above and below the doors to allow air circulation. Perfect. The floor to ceiling shaker style doors match a wardrobe in the room, so visually the work is very sympathetic.
The pipes below the boiler in the kitchen have completely disapeared behind a bespoke box, fashioned from rigid, gloss white plastic, which matches the kitchen tiles, and the white boiler above it. The box is held in place by magnetic catches, so that it can be removed easily for the gas engineer's annual inspection.
Effigy also fashioned a new loft hatch out of wood, which fits perfectly, and the stairwell feels warmer already, now that the colder air from the roof space is excluded.
I am absolutely delighted with the results of Effigy's work, which was carried out with great care and attention to detail.
I have already asked Effigy to quote for other carpentry projects in my home, and can absolutely recommend their creative, careful, sympathetic and highly skilled work.
