€44,000 Paid, Four Months of Delays, No Vehicles Delivered, Now Pursuing Legal Action
We ordered three vehicles from Electric Buggy Company in June 2026 for our business. We paid €44,000 by June 9, based on the agreed specifications and expected delivery timeline.
Delivery was originally scheduled for mid-August 2026. That date passed. We were then told mid-September. As of September 22, we still had not received the vehicles and were told delivery would take at least another three weeks.
UPDATE – END OF OCTOBER 2026:
We are now approaching the end of October, FOUR MONTHS after placing our order and paying €44,000, and we still have no delivery date or meaningful update about our supposedly street-legal golf carts.
Communication throughout this process has been extremely frustrating. Calls to the owner, Tony, have repeatedly gone unanswered or not been returned, messages have gone unanswered, and our sales contact changed three times during the process. For a business purchase of this size, the level of communication and accountability has been unacceptable.
Even more concerning is the issue of homologation. The vehicles were sold to us as four-seat vehicles that would be legal for use on public roads. After becoming concerned about the delays and documentation, we contacted other parties in the supply chain and received information originating from the manufacturer in China indicating that the homologated version of this vehicle was a TWO-SEATER, and that a homologated four-seat version was not yet available.
This raised a very serious concern for us: whether a two-seat homologated vehicle could be supplied with an additional two-seat conversion and presented as a four-seat road-legal vehicle.
We raised this issue directly with Electric Buggy Company and repeatedly requested the appropriate documentation, including the Certificate of Conformity demonstrating that the vehicle is homologated as a four-seat road-legal vehicle. We did not receive documentation that satisfactorily resolved our concern.
These vehicles were purchased specifically for our business launch. The repeated delays and lack of communication caused serious disruption to our operations and left us with no choice but to find another supplier.
We eventually contacted a different supplier, and the difference in experience was absolutely incredible; professional from the very beginning, communicated clearly, answered our questions, and delivered fully street-legal, four-seat golf carts, complete with Spanish license plates, in just one week!
And here's the best part: their vehicles are cheaper also.
After waiting four months for Electric Buggy Company, seeing another supplier deliver exactly what we needed in just seven days was astonishing. It demonstrated that our expectations regarding communication, professionalism, and delivery were entirely reasonable.
LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ELECTRIC BUGGY COMPANY:
After months of delays, poor communication, and unresolved questions regarding the vehicles' homologation, we requested a refund of our €44,000 down payment.
We are now pursuing legal action against Electric Buggy Company to recover what we paid for vehicles that have still not been delivered.
It is extremely disappointing that, after paying such a substantial amount and waiting four months, we have reached a point where legal action is necessary to recover our own money.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Electric Buggy Company. If you are considering purchasing street-legal golf carts for your business, I strongly encourage you to verify the homologation documents, delivery commitments, and supplier reliability before making a substantial payment.
We would be happy to update this review or consider removing it entirely if Electric Buggy Company resolves this matter and refunds the money owed. Our goal is simply to reach a fair resolution and recover the funds we paid for vehicles that were never delivered.
