I joined the Career Guidance Course with Dr Simra (Emergency Focus) in February 2024, and in 2025 I got an opportunity with ICRP. By the grace of the Almighty, I am now in the system.
It has been an incredible journey full of ups and downs, frustration, and self-doubt. Anyone who goes through this pathway knows how challenging it is. I was working full-time alongside my personal and AMC journey, and honestly, it was extremely hard to find time for job searching and related preparation.
Before joining this course, I had no idea how to write a CV, cover letter, and most importantly selection criteria. That’s when I decided to enroll in Dr Simra’s course. I asked many questions (some very silly 😄), both professional and personal. Simra was always there; patient, encouraging, and consistently positive.
With her guidance, I finally secured a job and obtained my AHPRA registration.
One very important lesson I learned is: know your strengths and weaknesses. No one understands them better than you. In the Australian healthcare system, knowing your limitations and seeking help when needed is essential. If you feel you need guidance, take professional advice. Asking others whether you should do it or not is not always the smartest move; it’s your call.

This review is for emergency focus - a platform made for people studying for AMC. T0 be honest the orientation class was very informative and provided a good guide on how to go forward while studying for AMC. There was clarity and consistency with the information provided with clear referencing.

I've done Career Guidance with dr Simra and the GP Observership in Sydney. I'm happy with EmergencyFocus service for both things! There is very valuable information in the Career Guidance and they support you all the way. Simra is very experienced so you can definitely trust her. The only negative aspect for me was that it is a bit disorganised and the time of the classes sometimes is a bit weird. The GP observership was great and it helped me a lot understanding how the system in Australia works overall. It's expensive but if you can it's worth it!

The information was productive, the answers were well elaborated, and the session was informative.
Though time was not enough to cater to all the questions from the participants.

When you join the group of IMGs with Dr. Simra, first you will be lost, you will feel rest of the people knows more, knows better.
But, once you have a intro session with Dr. Simra, you will be relaxed, you will have a new set of eyes to look at the whole application thing and thats where the game changes.

Dr. Simra will describe your CV way better than you can define yourself, and that will be the turning point of everything, at-least it was for me.

I never texted her with random queries( i know all queries are valid).
But the thing is, when you search your own queries, you come to know 5 more info along with it and ask the final question At one go. And the person responding will give their best to help you.

Also, the conversation of people in the group. Even though you don’t understand their conversation, just try having a read and try to search what they are talking about. ❤️✨
