Blackmail
Blackmail, psychological pressure, shouting and refusal to return money — avoid this company
Emporio Vacanze is a management company that rented us an apartment at Le Maree Miriacheddu in a completely uninhabitable condition and then spent three days refusing to resolve the problem.
Condition of the property:
Cockroaches, flies, spiders and snails on the floor, walls and in cooking utensils. Unbearable smell of rot and mould. The front door with a glass panel would not close and kept slamming in the wind — the glass could have shattered at any moment. Bedroom window broken. Dirty non-functional fans. Falling shelves. Damaged and burnt furniture. The apartment was filthy and uncleaned. Photos attached.
The company's response:
Two employees came. The first said there were no problems, raised his voice and left. The second personally confirmed the door was broken — and also left without fixing anything. We were forced to leave the apartment on the same day we checked in.
Three days of pressure and blackmail:
Instead of resolving the problem the company spent three days lying, ignoring us, shouting and manipulating the situation. At the office we were kept for three hours under psychological pressure and presented with two documents — one offering €0 refund, another €261 — both requiring us to permanently waive all legal rights forever. After refusing to sign — we were thrown out. The full amount of €1,130 was never returned.
Calling the police:
On the next visit to return the keys they called the police. The police refused to come — declaring the reason for the call unreasonable.
Official position of Booking.com:
Booking.com wrote in an official letter: "We apologize again for the blackmail you experienced at your accommodation." An international platform officially recognised the actions of this company as blackmail.
