The counselor and the services they provide has truly helped my daughter's college application and navigate on what she wants in the future. I will say I believe their sessions are a bit too short at 45 minutes. However, they do go above and beyond to make sure everything goes perfectly.

We are still at the beginning of our daughter's journey given she's a Sophmore. So far, we are very pleased with Empowerly and Sophie. They took the time to consider our needs and fit us with the right counselor based on interest and background. Empowerly has been a tremendous help throughout the college application process. It provides invaluable resources like essay editing, which has been a big help with both my personal statement and supplemental essays, AdCom reviews which have provided personal feedback that helped me feel much more prepared for submission. Most helpful however, has been the counseling. Raisa Alam has been incredibly helpful throughout the entire college application process, her knowledge of every step, her quick responses to emails and flexibility with scheduling made everything manageable and took away a lot of stress. She has a talent for drawing out the best in you, specifically in your writing, and helping you showcase your strengths authentically in your applications.

I work with Sophie, my counselor at Empowerly, and she has been outstanding in every way. She is always available when I need guidance, consistently thoughtful in her advice, and exceptionally knowledgeable about every aspect of the college admissions process. From SAT preparation and strategic course selection to extracurricular planning and shaping a strong application narrative, she brings expertise and clarity to each step. Sophie takes the time to understand my goals and provides personalized, practical support that truly makes a difference. Contacting Empowerly to help our Daughter, who is currently a Junior, improve her chances of getting into her first choice college was the best decision we've ever made! It's a lot of work, however, we found the best fit counselor immediately who has been great in future course selection, activities, and her passion project, we are so lucky to have been able to work with her. My daughter has also met with 2 other SAT Tutors and unfortunately didn't learn much, but she absolutely Loves her Empowerly Tutor and has learned so much and is so excited to keep practicing and learning. I wish Katherine had been there to help my older son with his college application process. I vetted a number of college counselors but never hired one because their approaches felt very cookie-cutter. My older son’s school counselors also didn’t offer personalized direction—they often said, “let your child do whatever they’re interested in,” which isn’t always the right approach.

Katherine, however, stands out as exceptionally efficient and deeply knowledgeable. Her experience allows her to tailor solutions specifically to our son’s needs, and her advice is consistently accurate, thoughtful, and trustworthy. She has a strong understanding of what STEM majors require—from recommending the right courses both in and outside of school to identifying meaningful extracurricular opportunities. Katherine consistently provides valuable, actionable support, and we are truly grateful for her guidance.

Suhani has been an incredible resource throughout our senior's college application journey. After each weekly meeting, there is a clear plan on what to work on to stay on track. Suhani is consistent with her feedback and very responsive outside of the scheduled sessions.

Along with Suhani, the essay editing team has been incredibly helpful. They provide detailed, in-line feedback not just on grammar or wording, but also on bigger-picture elements like structure, specificity, and what each college is truly looking for in a prompt.
