We have a brand new 2026 Subaru that was rear ended by a customer of this agency. We have not yet even made a payment on the car. The vehicle had less than 300 miles when hit. We have not even received the registration in the mail yet. The company refuses to pay for the car to be restored to its original condition. It was brand new! They are trying to get away with the absolute minimum payout, not a complete repair

Less than one star

It won’t let me leave less than 1 star. This company is an absolute joke. Had a lot of wind damage to my house. The adjuster showed up 5 hours late and dropped lie after lie why he was late including blaming our contractor. He refused to put over half of the damage on the claim and told us we needed to pay for the entire repair up front and submit copies of canceled checks.
Lucky for me we have free legal aid through my employer.

Unresponsive and Lazy

After my car wreck, I reached out and it took an agent a week to reply. The reason was "I'm very busy right now". They asked for a police report, which I sent, and that was the last I heard of them for 2 months. I had to personally call up and ask for information, and I got "Please send us the police report" and "We're still trying to reach a determination." Someone told me, if the other party is uninsured and you don't have Uninsured Coverage, the insurance company will drag their feet. I ultimately cancelled my policy after literally 4 months of no results. I lawyered up and got results immediately from what I assume is the other person's insurance. If you want cheap insurance to register your vehicle or so the cops don't bust you, then use these losers if they're the cheapest around. If you expect compensation and reponsiveness, however, find someone else.

Crooks, Pure and Simple

Esurance is yet another fraudulent company that not only offers nothing, but when you end your contract, they simply continue to take money out of your account. They stole over $700 from me, even when I no longer had a car. Yes, I know what you're thinking. “Get a Lawyer,” right? And yes, that’s good advice, but they have an army of lawyers, and in the end, it's their word against yours.

I fail to understand why and how these fake companies can keep robbing people with no legal interception from anyone. One would think the Federal Trade Commission would look into it, but they don’t, and they don’t care either. Pathetic. At any rate, Esurance would not cover a simple thermostat, which is a part of the engine. The engine is the first thing covered in their program, and more so in their coverage, which I had. But, as any attorney worth their salt will tell you, “READ THE CONTRACT AND EVERY ADDENDUM THEREIN.” I did not read the fine details, which, by the way, are so small you need an electron microscope to read them. So, in the end, I was screwed yet again.

EXAMPLE: Let’s say you’re covered for the air conditioning in your car. Okay, fine. The mechanic calls Esurance, and a claim is issued. But wait! They only cover the fuses in your air conditioner, and not the repair of the air conditioner itself. Oh, so sorry…you get ‘DECLINED.’ But of course, the worst part is that they kept withdrawing money from my account even when my car was totaled, and I ended the service with them. In my mind, this should be illegal…but not today. Not in America.

BEWARE…BEWARE…BEWARE!

Based on the provided search results, there have been several lawsuits filed against Esurance regarding their insurance practices, but these are primarily related to general auto insurance policies and claims, not specifically about Esurance vehicle service contracts or extended warranties.
Examples of Lawsuits Against Esurance:
• Class action regarding sales tax on totaled vehicles: A policyholder filed a class-action lawsuit claiming Esurance and its claims administrator failed to cover sales tax on totaled vehicles, despite policy terms.
• PIP benefit termination during medical treatment: A proposed class action alleged Esurance improperly ended Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits once a policyholder was deemed to have reached "maximum medical improvement".
• Underinsured motorist (UIM) claims and bad faith: A case involved a UIM claim where the plaintiffs contended Esurance failed to adequately investigate and make a reasonable offer, violating insurance regulations and acting in bad faith.
• Collision coverage claims: A case from 2017 involved a dispute over a collision coverage claim, with the plaintiff alleging breach of contract and bad faith on the part of Esurance.
Regarding Vehicle Service Contracts/Extended Warranties:
• There's a mentioned class action lawsuit against Endurance Warranty Services, a third-party provider of Vehicle Service Contracts, which alleges delayed claim processing and unjustified denials of coverage. This lawsuit is not related to Esurance.

Just don’t do it! They’re all crooks!

I wasn't at fault so why treat me like I am

I had an accident. The other drive ran the red light. It was documented on the police report. They still want me to pay my deductible instead of going after the other person's insurance. They also refuse to speak with me. When I call I am transferred numerous times then hung up on and emails are never returned.

Bunch of scamworthy insurers.

This one was wild. I've had insurance coverage with these morons for quite a few years. As long as they have you under their customer belt, there shouldn't be much of an issue.

Minor preface: I've never had any accidents, collisions, citations, or anything of any sort for the lifetime of my license history... I also have nearly perfect credit.

With that said, I ended up having to go overseas for an arbitrary period of time. I told them over a year ago that i needed to cancel my policy.

This is where the issues began. They completely ignored all of my requests to cancel, so I took matters into my own hands and filed two claims with the FTC, as well as a chargeback with my bank/credit union. I was also getting stuff sorted to get the state attorney general involved.

The moment they received that nasty tick on their record, they finally respond to me saying that they have no records of me making any attempts to "cancel."

Now I'm getting notifications from them that a payment is "due" despite no longer having any ties with them.

What they're pulling right now is outright illegal, and I will stand my ground against this nonsense.

I suppose that if I do have to get an attorney involved, I will have no choice but to do so.
To be fair, they pulled three separate payments from me before I was finally able to silence them... At least for now.

Avoid these scam baiters at all costs. Even Progressive has better standards than this. That's saying a lot.

Esurance will screw you.

an Esurance (allstate/NGIC) insured motorist ran into our car from behind when we slowed down in an intersection. police report and statements from both parties confirm it was his fault as he was following too close or not paying attention. After a month of trying to get a response, Esurance denied our claim because if our car hadn't slowed down then he wouldn't0 have hit us. Unbelievable.

Do not go thru esurance..

Had a policy full coverage, told me I had a rental for up to 45 days, While the "adjuster" did their end. They had me turn In my rental a couple days later. So I've been walking to work ten miles total a day to and from... I received a call from the " adjuster" telling me to sign over the title and they will send me a check of an agreed amount, so I can replace my car... they have had my car and the title for weeks. Still no check, and he won't answer his phone or return my calls or voice mails... I'm feeling a little irritated and ripped off.

Esurance should be brought up on criminal charges, and an Aplus for bringing back White Out

Consider my rating a -11.I purchased a new vehicle on December 8, 2022. It was stolen on June 6, 2023.

By July 25, 2023 The Total Loss Claims adjuster gave me a final offer of $19.034.40. I at first said , NO. I just wanted my car back. Finally, the total loss claims adjuster explained that he needed to clear up this claim. I finally had no choice but to agree.

But thank God,within 2 hours and 35 minutes of speaking with the Toal Loss Department from Esurance, my car was recovered, in good shape, by the police!!! All parties involved in my claim were immediately told that my car had been found, the Devonshire Division of the LAPD waited by my car, until I could get to the location of where my car was left. They also waited with me until we could get my car safely, back to my home. I was on the phone with Esurance, I spoke with John Kaufman Claims adjuster who was actually a fantastic, empathetic, knowledgeable, and a man who was so far superior in his knowledge in all things, claims, and property and casualty related, that he is the only shining light in that pathetic, mockery of an insurance company. I asked him and the Total Loss Adjuster if I can keep my car, since it appeared to be in mint condition, just dirty, and only had a few miles on it more than had been on before, so I am thinking "Joy Ride"? My almost brand new, fully paid off (I was so proud) car. had only been 4 months old and I had paid almost $22,0000 cash for it, and then proceeded to tint windows $400, have seats reupholstered, in black and white leather, which cost more than $2000.00 and I purchased a platinum extended warranty for $1800.00. I also had the carpeting recovered to match the seats and my car still had less than 55,000 miles on it. Which is why I did not want to take a $19034.40 dollars for my vehicle. So I ask them if I am able to keep my car. They said, Yes, since , obviously, The Total Loss Paper work had yet to begin, being prepared, since I had only , grudgingly, agreed to the final offer only 2 hours and 35 minutes, prior to this. So, they tell me okay, we all agree. A Win Win, They pay out Nothing, and I have my car back, in mint condition!

I agree to take it as is. I am thrilled to have my vehicle. I never could have imagined what a nightmare my life was about to become. In the first week of December 2023, I went to the Van Nuys DMV to register my car for the very 1st time (as the dealership handled all paperwork at the time of purchase).Oddly enough, I felt the people looking at my paperwork were looking at me as if I was crazy or a criminal. They kept walking away, bringing over a supervisor, calling another supervisor. I was then told to come back the following day. This continues on and on with four different DMV locations, and nobody telling me what is going on here!

Then they bring in DMV investigations after days and days and hours and hours of waiting and getting no answers. I'm simply trying to pay to register my car. Finally, they sit me down and explain to me that according to the DMV computers, verbatim, 'Your vehicle was deemed non-recoverable' and you have already been paid $19034.00 by the Esurance Total Loss Department. That's the reason you cannot register a car, that's never been recovered, Mrs Spangenberg.' As this was a total lie, I then called my claims adjuster again, at the DMV in Thousand Oaks, and I have two people who witnessed my total loss claims adjuster say to me, 'Now you are just making this up...' When told 'why did your company tell the DMV my car was non-recoverable and that your company paid me out $19034.00?' He called me a liar.
I have been begging Esurance Ttal Loss adjusters to pleased make it right. They finally admitted that their vendor, Copart, made the mistake and transferred my title into the Esurance company name, on their own. They admit there was no payout. But they place blame for all other mistakes on a company called Copart. Thereby, accepting no responsibility, Esurance owns my car. They say they are unable to fix it. They have done all they can. But feel free to contact them with any further concerns. Wait, they stole my vehicle, own my vehicle. I am unable to register or drive my own vehicle. It has now been 7 months of back and forth, while I have NO CAR!. Last week, I finally realized, they have no clue what they are doing and they will never fix this. So I wrote an email to my Total Loss Adjuster telling him that it has been 7 months that I have been without a car, that them, or their representatives, illegally transferred ownership of my car to themselves.
So, I said, "You own my car now, You cannot fix this, so pay me $19034.40 and come pick up car. They emailed me back. "We can not pay you for the car at this time. It is not even registered to you." I just about lost my mind. I must save up and pay a lawyer. But am without a car. I found out today, They deemed my vehicle a salvage.

Unsure what to feel about Esurance, but likely won't re-enroll.

I had been with Esurance for about four years before I moved out of my state of Florida. For the most part it had been okay: I am a very low-risk driver so I never get into accidents, therefore I never had to deal with the insurance folks. They also offered the most competitive rate. But after my vehicle was sideswiped in summer 2023 by a speeding driver, who admitted fault on the spot, my insurance fee went up by a hundred dollars (I pay on biannual basis). This is something perhaps many auto insurance companies are guilty of.

Then when I moved out of Florida to abroad for work, I spoke with an agent to cancel my auto insurance as my vehicle would not be in operation for most of the year. I am not sure if I made it clear that the cancellation was temporary--I thought I did, but I was not advised to keep the insurance on. Because a month later (last week or so), I learned that Florida DMV sent me a letter saying that Esurance let them know I canceled my policy, and the DMV requests me to reinstate an auto insurance or my license gets suspended. This would be very bad, since I have to move back to Florida later this year. Up until when I learned of the letter I was not aware that Florida law requires you to have an auto insurance at all time if you want to keep your Florida license and vehicle registration. It complicated matters as I was already abroad at the time...

While my own ignorance is one thing, I just think it is strange that the Esurance agent who spoke with me over the phone did not let me know of this--the only reasonable excuse would be maybe I did not make it clear my move was temporary, but I thought I told them that I plan to still use them when I am back later this year, so to me it would make sense then that they advise me to keep the insurance.

Where do you get off...

So, let me preface this with a little background. I am a retired Army Veteran with 22 years of Honorable service. I'm a very open-minded, easy-going, and somewhat forgiving kind of gal. I like to think of myself as trustworthy and very reasonable, I don't ask more of anyone or anything as long as their end of the deal is upheld when I expect and depend on something to work as advertised.
So, I've had a good many automobile companies over the years, since the day I got my license oh so many moons ago...we won't go into detail bout that. ;P I've had policies with USAA, Geico, Farmers, etc. I switched to Esurance looking to save some cash on my monthly premium, and at first, that was enough...This company did what was required of them which made me a very happy gal, Until it was time for them to actually perform the task which I also came to them for aside from a lower monthly premium, and SADLY with a hasty quickness they wasted no time in disappointing in spectacular fashion...So Within the past 7 months, I've experienced two vehicle accidents that were not my fault, the first one way back in September when the other driver's insurance company accepted responsibility and my repairs were speedily completed on my automobile, and yet my adjuster when interviewing me about the incident Rudely gave me the impression...(EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE vibe you want to give your client even when you must remain impartial) that I was the individual at fault. I could not believe it, the thought that ran through my mind was WTH...was I hearing them right or was this a hallucination? ...but nope, I was not, this clown of an adjuster was actually making it sound like I was the party at fault. Now, like I said I try to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a misunderstanding and, maybe it was a one-of... nah, that wouldn't happen again. But Dammit If I didn't have another incident that is currently under investigation and adjudication between insurance auditors. and true to form like this accusing and persecuting vibe is shining through like a HOLY AURA...aaaannnndd again that thought shot through my mind but this time like a bullet at breakneck speed, and the fine hairs on the back, of my neck stood up like ridged quills, in turn making my blood boil!!!!😡🤬 The thought ringing out in my mind "WTH is the matter with this dam company, are their adjusters just taught to be abrasive and just Duck;n rude...I had told my adjuster on the phone as they interviewed me about the incident, at least the last one supplied me with an email address that I could send in pics of my previous accident. I even texted a few days ago and no response, which tells me promptness isn't a high priority, but they sure do complain as they should if a payment is late or missed or delayed...Now as you read this, some may say that this is just an old lady complaining like they always do about if not something else irrelevant, to which I'd reply, it's all fun and games until you get the same treatment. So, I'm simply gonna chalk this up to a teachable moment...and summarily cut off this underperforming and highly disappointing service. Hell, I may even go over to the other insurance company that was used by the other driver from my September incident, at least they treated me with respect and caring consideration and I was the opposing party...Like, what the hell...I've been throwing my hard-earned money to be treated as such...I'm done, and so are you Esurance, especially after reading your latest and greatest of you MFR's raising my premium next month and my accident hasn't been resolved...Wayyyy to instill trust...So... I honestly hope that ALL PERSPECTIVE CLIENTS Catch this post...THEN think DAMN...nah, I'm good I don't need a lackluster company like that, there are waaaaayyyy better ones out there. With that, I'm done, I seriously can't wait to divest myself of your services.

How about not having my car for a year, 7 months of that time it has been in your hands. Family of 7 here and luckily had the means to get another loan for another car, but still paying for a car that’s in your hands. Still dealing with crappy communication. The accident wasn’t our fault (teen driver was cited for distracted driving and had admitted it right away).
Customer service is an absolute joke and there is no communication between departments or customers and you, as the customer, have to hand walk them through talking with each other. 🙄 it’s absolutely insane. NEVER RECOMMEND Esurance.

I have had rhe unfortunate experience…

I have had the unfortunate experience to have this company as my auto insurance. It's because I am not in a position to make a double payment to start with another company
I have no tickets, no accidents, I drive an average of 10k miles a year and garage my car and for full coverage they just raised me to 253 a month. They have me on a payment schedule to pay thr 31st of every month. I pay every 30 days but because it's not aligned to the day they tell me I have to pay it always gets paid late. Not canceled but late and for that they are charging me an extra $30 a month. I am an excellent driver who barely drives a garaged car and these people are ripping me off blind. Take it from me do not do business with this company, do not get locked into one of their policies. This is a cruel heartless company that doesn't care 1 bit for their customers and is so big if they lose customers they do not care. There are other insurance companies out there plus their nighttime customer service is a call center overseas who's phones have the worst connection so its impossible to hear them. The supervisors don't call you back like they are supposed to. I couldn't even imagine putting in a claim with this company. I am going to probably have to change companies tomorrow because they are ridiculously priced.
