Wasted my time for 4 months and never delivered
I applied to incorporate based on the offer for non-US Startups at the beginning of Jan 2026. On 7 Jan I got an email from Mateus asking if I had an SSN (of course I did not, I am not American) and I replied in the negative. I was then told the following "Unfortunately, due to the recent US government shutdown, our ability to obtain EINs for founders with no SSN from the IRS has been temporarily halted. As a result, we're pausing your application until normal operations resume.
We'll pick up your application and proceed with the incorporation process once the IRS is back online."
Each month I would email and ask for an update and was told the same thing, it is the IRS that is at fault. Today, I get an email to by request that states the following: Unfortunately, applications from international founders without an SSN are still suspended with Every.
Please note that this applies only to our current service offerings and does not reflect your eligibility to incorporate a business in the U.S. You may still pursue your incorporation through other service providers,
So it turns out it wasn't the IRS that was the problem, it was a decision by Every to stop offering this service to customers. What an utter waste of time!
