I had a wonderful experience at Evita Gems and Jewellery in Galle, largely because of the care and attention I received from Rasni.
What I appreciated most was that there was never any pressure to buy. Rasni was friendly, patient and genuinely interested in finding something that suited both my personality and my budget. As Galle was the last stop on my holiday, I wasn’t looking to spend a fortune, and he completely understood that. Instead of pushing me towards more expensive pieces, he took the time to show me jewellery that felt colourful, interesting and a little different.
I eventually chose two rings that I absolutely love. One has a striking grey star sapphire set in silver, which is quite unusual and has so much character. The other is a beautiful topaz with rubies on either side, with the topaz cut in a gorgeous star-like design. It is such a bright and joyful piece and very much my style.
I visited several jewellery shops while I was in Sri Lanka, but my experience with Rasni stood out because it felt so personal. His English is excellent, he communicates very easily, and he made a real effort to understand what I liked rather than simply showing me what he wanted to sell.
I have stayed in contact with Rasni since my visit, and I still remember the whole experience very fondly. I’m delighted with the pieces I bought and very grateful for the kindness and personal service I received.
