SCAMMERS FURIOUS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT
Exactly the same as Jo. Expedia WorldWide are scammers. Me and my partner paid £200 for our flights, i had spoken to someone called "Berry" on the phone, i then exchanged emails with this man about what i had to pay and how. I went to my bank and did a direct transfer of a £50 deposit. This was confirmed that it had gone through to there bank.
A few months later i paid the remaining £150 and on paying this i should've been sent my flight tickets and reference number to check with the airline.
I was told that my money didnt go through and i would not be able to get hold of my tickets. I gave them a ring on 01215825285 and i was told to get my tickets i had to pay an extra £250 on top of the £200 i already had paid (something to do with the airline's tax??) they did not confirm anything about the money i had sent nor my tickets. i told them i wanted a refund and they said it was fine but they want me to send my bank account details over email. Clearly, i didnt do this and i gave them multiple calls, they then said their accounts people had my details anyway and were processing my refund of £200. I received no word from them so i continued to call them (everyday) i was getting various indian men pick up and they were extremmly rude over the phone. I was told every phone call to ring back the next day, so i did, then i was told that none of their staff was in for a whole week (hard to believe), so i called back on the next date they gave me. I was answered to a different indian man and he told me to call back the next day, i was fed up at this point so i demanded my refund on the phone, he told me he doesnt know anything (this was apparently the manager) and to ring the next day. I confronted him and told him his company is a scam and he admitted over the phone that he is a scammer. He called me "baby" and used multiple phrases over the phone of sexual references and told me to be in hospital. He said my moeny is gone and i wont be getting it back, i wont be getting my refund.
Furious is an understatement!!!!!!
Just watch out for these people PLEASE!! They call themselves "Expedia WorldWide" I have an email address of "berry @ expediaworldwide.com" a phone number of 01215825285 (to call you must put 91470 in front (9147001215825285) and names of "Henry and Berry", their so called office is in India.
Scammers and thieves
We paid £200 for deposit for flights. First they told me they had not received my money (which I sent by direct bank transfer). Then the told me they had returned the money, the money they hadn't received???
They then told me they had got the money. I was now suspicious and asked for a receipt and booking reference, which they provided. I spoke to a nan with an Indian accent calling himself 'Alex Smith'.
I checked online at BA and my booking was there but the information was incomplete. I contacted BA who were unhelpful and they said they were sure it was fine.
I then couldn't get hold of Expedia/they didn't answer the phone. 2 days later I checked online again and it said my booking didn't exist. I called BA. They said the booking was cancelled as the agent hadn't paid. BA didn't seem bothered and were unhelpful.
Eventually after emailing a few times Alex Smith finally emailed me back saying "don't worry about that just pay the balance now and I will send your ticket". We told him we wanted our money back and he agreed to refund us - but no refund. We have given them no more money and we won't. I believe these people also use other company names like Joy Travel, Sunlight Travel, Expedia Direct Ltd. They are scammers. We believe they have also scammed other people we know. We have reported them to the police, Action Fraud and Trading Standards. Please do the same if you've been scammed by them. Their 'official' email address isn't even real!
