Complaint - DO NOT USE TOCK

I would like to make a complaint about your webpage and csutomer service.

I made a booking on Saturday 17th January for a table for 2, however due to unforseen circumstances I was not able to attent the restaurant.

There was nowhere to cancel my booking, no options even when I created an account.

Your company will take banking information and store, knowing that £10 is charged for a cancellation or a no show. Basically you are not allowed to cancel and therefore you will take people's money regardless.

This is poor service and needs to be a little more fair.

After making a reservation and inputting all my information I have been receiving non stop scam / spam calls as in 10-15 a day. Ever since then. I usually wouldn't be sure it was one website or data breach or anything like that but in the 3 weeks leading up to getting so many calls this was the only new website or app I put my information into and it started the day after. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR NUMBER THEY WILL JUST SELL IT AND MAKE YOUR LIFE A PAIN!!

Avoid using Tock at all costs

Avoid using Tock for restaurant bookings. I made a genuine mistake (wrongly booked similar named restaurant) but within a minute I attempted to contact Tock. As per other reviews - zero chance of reaching customer service. Further, the policies listed on the Tock booking page also differ to what is stated on the actual restaurant site so I see a battle looming if I am charged $400 (Tock says I can cancel over 24 hours (booking 34 hours away) but the restaurant webpage says 48 hour). Use a simpler and more friendly platform such as OpenTable. Tock is a nightmare and not user friendly and there zero support available.

Scam

Dining Charges on my credit card were not reversed and zero credit given after honoring my commitment to attend restaurant time and date as agreed. No way to reach any Tock representative to help. This is a scam.

I was forced to use this platform for a…

I was forced to use this platform for a reservation at a Sacramento restaurant. It was a disaster, compounded by the almost impossible task of reaching the restaurant by phone.

First it would indicate an open date and time, then close it as I tried to make a booking. After six tries, it finally allowed the reservation. Next it had a confusing message about wine parings. Then it requested a full, immediate billing three weeks BEFORE the reservation date. I had a gift certificate that could not be used. It stated that there were no cancelations and no refunds, ignoring the gift certificate.

I asked my Amex to file a dispute and on my eighth call someone answered. The issue was resolved by Amex and the live person. The billing was canceled and the gift certificate amount will be deducted from our bill and I will pay the remainder.

Regardless of the $526 fixed cost for two and the quality of the food and service, I will never use Tock or return to this restaurant. My advice: go elsewhere and avoid Tock. And, by the way, there is a charge imposed by the app for its use.

Credit card info stolen

Don’t use! My card info was stolen. Used Tock to make reservations for a book club that’s held at a local winery. 4 days later and I received notifications for charges I didn’t make.

Much smaller network of users.

Got talked into signing my restaurant up, but I insisted on keeping my OpenTable system active. We received 1 tock network reservation to every 50 we received from OpenTable and we did not even use the reservation deposit option. After 4-5 months we cancelled Tock.

Trying to modify a reservation and keep…

Trying to modify a reservation and keep getting different error messages. Can not find “timeline” or “service”tab on interface. Can’t cancel the reservation to rebook with correct info. This app is a waste of time and not functional. Restaurants drop them!!!

Reservation Lost

I made a reservation at Salt - Stratford on Avon UK and I received no confirmation via the app or by email so i rang the restaurant and they told me they had no booking but made one for me over the phone. I said their booking system was pants and the guy agreed with me - as he had a lot of trouble with them. Why he hasn't changed it to a system that works is anybody's guess but the meal was superb.

Bandwidth issues

Couldn't handle the requests for when reservations opened to a restaurant, when I finally got through all was booked.

What a terrible idea

What a terrible idea. Not only is squarespace unethical in everything they do, this sets the bar for bad ideas even higher.

You want me to pay to make a reservation? And web reservation system failed (because it's squarespace-quality code), I had to call and make the reservation the old fashioned way.

Tock/Squarespace tried to charge me a fee for this reservation even though all it did was waste my time and turn a 5 minute task into a 30-minute one.

Now, they won't let me delete my account (probably to keep investors from seeing how hated they are) with the excuse of an "upcoming reservation" making deletion impossible. But, there are no reservations! It's just denying me the opportunity to delete.

If you invest in this company, know that their count for active accounts is highly manipulated.

I hate this app and will not go to any restaurant using it. Period.
