I started ordering seeds from this company a year ago and although they are expensive all the seeds germinated which i cant say about other seed companies' They also have a great selection of usual seeds and old time seeds which i love.

Costly seeds and a little more info needed
I was pleased that Ferri seeds offered 'Sea Kale' seeds which are not very easy to find. They charge $6.99 for "six large seeds" - not cheap, especially after shipping. My order came to about $20. Shipping was prompt. Only one of the seeds was what I would call 'large'; the other 5 were quite small. They give rather complicated germination instructions on their website but I fortunately found better instruction elsewhere. (cultivariable.com) It is important, for instance to remove the pericarp before germination and Ferri neglects to mention this. Generally satisfied with my experience but feel they could do a little better.

Hi Elise. Sorry you felt the growing instructions were complicated. We put a lot of research into the growing requirements, as it gives the grower the best chance of success. For Sea Kale, in our experience, the pericarp (outer layer) does not need to be removed as softens quickly, and also we don't want to make things more complicated than needed. We hope you enjoy your new seeds, and the plants they become.

I ordered seeds, but provided wrong mailing address. I emailed them back and they re-send me same seeds without extra charge.

rare and hard to…
I ordered four rare and hard to germinate species. All arrived in good time and in good condition. Echium wildpretii germinated (50%) within several weeks; Echinops retro, Eryngiium giganteum and Puya raimondii have not, after several months, germinated yet. It's too soon to declare them non-viable.

Hi Don. Thanks for sharing. Yes, Echium can take a few weeks, or a couple months sometimes. Sometimes having them in bright light or sunlight helps, as they require light for germination. They are all fresh seeds, and if you have any concerns about germination after the allotted time please feel free to reach out.
Ferri Seeds offered a hard to find seed…
Ferri Seeds offered a hard to find seed on their website. I placed the order but had questions about product and delivery. Customer service contacted me right away. My questions were answered right away. I was kept updated on delivery progress. The seeds were exactly what I wanted. My husband is a very serious gardener. I will do more business with Ferri.

Worst germination rates
Worst germination rate of any seed company I ordered from. 95% failed and I’m a decent gardener with decades of experience in growing plants from seeds.
Not to mentioned the smallest portions of any other seed company I have ordered from in the past.
Not recommended.

Online Ferri Seeds seller fraud
I bought 5 seeds of Monkshood, Aconitum carmichelii seeds from Ferri Seeds online store in February 2023 for $20.
I did everything according to the instructions but None of the received seeds sprouted. I ended up with zero germination.
Moreover, the examination of seeds I received and comparison to the botanical picture of the same perennial show that the received seeds look nothing like the actual species seeds.
I consider this a fraud.
