5 Stars – Exceptional Product, Exceptional People
After extensive research, I chose the Sonra Long Throw Dead Lock from FG Products for one simple reason: they were the only manufacturer on the market offering a long throw gate lock that ticked every one of my boxes.
My requirements were specific — I needed a lock that would accept my own euro-cylinder barrel (my entire home is keyed alike to a single cylinder manufacturer), look smart from the outside, keep the bulk of the mechanism on the interior side of the fence, and be straightforward to install. FG Products delivered on all four counts without compromise.
The lock arrived quickly, and from the moment I opened the box the quality was obvious. The finish is excellent, the build feels premium, and the thoughtful inclusion of the installation tools I needed was exactly the kind of detail that tells you a company genuinely thinks about its customers.
Then came the real test — and this is where FG Products moved from impressive to outstanding.
A few weeks in, I noticed an intermittent jamming issue with the key occasionally sticking in the mechanism. I contacted FG Products half-expecting the usual corporate runaround. What I got instead was the complete opposite. Their team engaged with me immediately, worked through the problem methodically, and even dispatched a replacement lock while we continued to investigate. Together, we eventually identified the root cause: a design quirk specific to my euro-cylinder was triggering the jam.
Rather than pointing fingers, shifting blame, or offering a hollow swap-and-forget solution, FG Products took the time to truly understand the issue and implement a precise fix. The problem was resolved swiftly and completely.
That level of care is rare. Most companies would have closed the ticket long before getting to the real answer. FG Products stuck with it because they clearly take pride in their products, their reputation, and — most importantly — their customers.
If you're looking for gate hardware, look no further. And if anything ever goes wrong, you can trust you'll be in good hands.
Thank you to the whole team at FG Products. Highly, highly recommended.
