Offload less desirable product on online purchase

Bought 8 portions of Black Cod, just under £100 of fish. Everything arrived as expected but when I opened the package I saw that 5 out of the 8 fillets were straight from the collar of the fish. This means you get a triangle piece of fish and not the rectangle I was expecting. This may sound petty but I am presenting a top quality dining experience for my clients, turning the 5 portions into uniform fillets so that Everything looks the same is virtually impossible without massive waste and huge reduction in portion size. Dont offload the less desirable cuts on your online customers, that is a really cheap and sh***y thing to do. One would have been acceptable but 5 of 8 is taking the mick. Will be avoiding this retailer and never sending my business their way again.

You are absolutely correct that this ratio of collar pieces should not be sent to any one customer. I hope that you can believe us when we tell you that this was absolutely not intentional, but certainly a mistake on our part. At present with it being Christmas, the team are fighting significant volumes and I can only imagine this mistake was simply a result of that. Nevertheless, it is still a mistake that we are very sorry has happened, but not a deliberate choice to upset a customer. We are actually an online-only retailer so it is certainly not the case that we were offloading products for online orders as every order is an online order. The collar is still delicious but we do understand that it may cause an issue presentation-wise for larger dining events.

We absolutely understand your frustration. I have allocated you store credit to the value of your entire order in the hope that you can accept our explanation and return to us once more, at no cost to you, to actually experience how our service is supposed to be.

The choice is yours but we would love to have the chance to make this right.

A1 quality fine foods and service

Needed a place to find Kobe beef. Ended up using it again as their products are so amazing! And stellar customer service too, flawless communication! Only problem is everything they do is too tasty! Thanks Emanuel!

Quality

Expensive but well worth it as the saying goes you get what you pay for. The A5 wagyu rib eye steak is the best steak I've ever eaten as is the lumina shoulder of lamb.

We ordered some wagyu steak from Fine…

We ordered some wagyu steak from Fine and Wild for my sons Stag do
It was outstanding!! The taste and quality were amazing and the whole group thoroughly enjoyed it.
In addition to this we had a bit of a delivery mishap that could have ruined everything (our fault) but the customer service was every bit as good as the steak - the problem was sorted out despite the mistake being ours
I cannot rate this company highly enough both for the product they sell and for the way they treat their customers
We are forever grateful for making a very special event very special

Making amends. *****

Update to the below. From 1 star to 5 stars. Not something I have ever done before. Why now? Great customer service. Understanding something went wrong and made every effort to put it right. Thank you Emanuel. Faith restored.

I was hosting an event where only the finest oranges & lemons would do. These being Amalfi lemons & and Saville oranges, I chose Fine & Wild to provide these, and thought I would give them a go, to see for future use. I ordered from their website and selected a delivery date for the next week.

Unfortunately, the lemons were put into a non-breathable envelope as when they arrived, they were moldy and soft (squishy, actually).
I can only imagine the order was filled at point of order days before and put to the side awaiting the day of delivery. I cant believe they were packed like this, hence I suspect they were packed much earlier. The oranges weren't in an envelope and they arrived in the same box and were fine. Unfortunately this left me short and I had to use generic lemons. The difference was palatable and noticed.

I can not recommend in this case. Pity because I thought I had found something special and usable..

Not impressed at all with products this time around

I’ve previously ordered during Covid and the Wagyu steak was incredible. With my current order however both packs of Wagyu mince were missing and sent the following day. Mangos included with my first delivery were overripe and one had been punctured. I did receive a refund for this though. Beetroot was just ok. Once I received my Wagyu mince the next day I made some burgers and added an egg yolk. Not sure why but meat tasted gamey, I’ll try a different approach with my other batch and update if necessary. Not impressed at all this time round. I left a review for their mangos on their website which must have been removed.

We do regret that you were sent 2 jars of Wagyu Fat rather than 2 packs of Wagyu Mince with your initial order. We note that we did gift these jars to you free of charge, which given their higher value, we hoped you would find a satisfactory resolution. We also note the 2 packs of Mince you initially ordered were delivered on an express Saturday delivery to you at 10:30 am the following day.

With regards to the Mangos, we apologise again to you for this. Our mangos are Air-freighted in from Peru at peak ripeness, far superior to mangos that have been picked early, but of course are ripe and ready to eat upon delivery. This does mean that in transit with third-party couriers, ocassionally damage can be caused to them. We offered to replace these mangos for you immediately or to refund in full. In this case, you asked for a refund which we processed immediately for you.

We are a small company that prides itself on bringing outstanding produce to likeminded passionate foodies, and do our absolute best to right any wrongs swiftly and fairly, which we do feel we have done in this case. We regret that you have felt your experience merits a 1-star on this occasion and will take your feedback into account going forward.

Highly recommended company

Highly recommended company with slick ordering system and fantastic quality product - bought the garlic string. First time using them and won't be the last. DPD delivery service was excellent too.

Absolutely superb customer service

Absolutely superb customer service
After a delivery incident which was the fault of the delivery company Jennifer righted the wrong immediately by sending out a replacement order and we received our cepes in perfect condition. The customer service experience was exceptional and caring . Will definitely use again!

Ordered a black truffle, accidentally put the wrong address but took 30 seconds on the phone to get through to someone and sort. Well packaged and well priced.

I paid £76 for a Bresse chicken and it was crap

I paid £76 for a Bresse chicken. It was 10 times the price of a Tesco chicken and it was half as good. The flavour was good, but the meat was tough and the breast was scrawny. I have had some good products from Fine and Wild and the delivery has been excellent, but, I will not ever waste my money on this chicken again.

I ordered white truffles from here and…

I ordered white truffles from here and they can deliver next day. When I called for more details on time of delivery they were responsive and helpful. Delivery was smooth and no issues. And most importantly, the truffles smell delicious!

Amazing Customer Service

The customer service team are extremely helpful with letting me know of changes to delivery. Secondly there was a mishap with my delivery being sent to a wrong address nothing to do with Fine & Wild, but after letting them know about the situation a lovely lady called me explaining that she has got to the bottom of the problem and the delivery service are now redelivering it. Amazing service
