Five Star Properties and Bliss Beach Rentals Avis 

The property is wonderful but is a little sad! The property needs new furniture in both the living and dining areas! The furniture that is there is uncomfortable and very used/unclean!

Beautiful location and an amazing house! We had a wonderful time and the beach access was fantastic! Will definitely go back!

Our family stayed here 5/14-5/21/21. Best deck (huge) with pool and jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. With some TLC this place could be even more spectacular and for the increase in wkly rental price the owners should bite the bullet and invest a little more.

Pros -
*awesome brand new deck
* awesome view and huge deck that overlooks the ocean with fab pool and jacuzzi
* all new furniture in den
* all new table and patio furniture make this easily one of the best rentals for a family.
* The separate guest suite with its own kitchen was fantastic for my daughter, husband and 8 month old (as it had its own refrigerator and they could be close to family but still quite for night time)

Negatives:
* get the outside house painted and fix the stucco like your neighbors have
* fix the outdoor shower head and outside rinse off area (could easily run the water to where you walk up from beach) vs. having to walk across the new deck with all the sandy feet
* throw away all the utensils. The knives are so dull it was hard to cut anything.
* freezer in main fridge doesn’t get cold enough. I would consider a new fridge.
* throw away the toaster. It burns toast on the bottom and doesn’t cook toast at the top
* get a new mesh skimmer for pool. I tried to clean the pool myself after the heavy winds but their was a big hole in the mesh net so I couldn’t clean. No one came out all week, from five star maint, to clean pool during our stay.
* pool digital reader says it is completely out of salt to make chlorine. Someone needs to maintain pool better
*eaves on the outside of house, next to deck, are completely falling off. I could fix myself if you gave me 4 hours. Maint said it would be fixed and no problem just needs to be fixed.

Overall, our family absolutely loved this vacation and this house so don’t let the negatives get in the way. Just a message to five star and owners to pick it up and invest a some more $ into this fabulous property given the weekly prices you now charge.

Really loved the place. Floor plan was perfect for our group. The kitchen was well equipped and all the appliances were convenient and operated with no problems. The pool experience helped dampen the effects of some cloudy and rain during the week. Nice location with easy access to the beach. Enjoyed the access to the bikes. It is pet friendly and well suited for small pets. The only issue was the elevator was not operable when we arrived which made it difficult to get things to the top floor and groceries to the second floor. It wasn't repaired for 2 days. The representatives were easy to contact and responsive. Highly recommend. It would have been a 5 if not for the elevator issue.

The Southern Jewel is an awesome property. It is very roomy! It sleeps 24, but we had 15 adults and it was roomy & comfortable. 24 adults would be too many, but perhaps families with small children would work out well. The outdoor space was the best!! Covered patio with a pool was terrific! The golf cart was a nice amenity. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it to others.

We have rented a house through Five Star Properties for six years now and our experience has always been very memorable in a positive way. The property we've rented has been well maintained and Five Star Properties' customer service before, during and after our stay has always been outstanding. One of the nice touches they do is to reach out to their guests before their stay to see if they have any questions, during the stay to see if they have any issues, and after their stay to get feedback and identify any problems they can resolve for future guests. We've not experienced that level of customer service with any other property management company before. Our family highly recommends renting through Five Star Properties.

We stayed at Sanctuary. The location is great as it is beachfront, but for the price, this house is run down and so, so dirty! The elevator and pool heater were down during our stay. Therefore, no one could use the pool as it was very cold. The washer has black mold inside. We have had to wear socks and shoes in the home as our feet were black. The furniture has not been dusted, and the upholstered bed frames are dirty. The upholstered chairs in both the dining room and living room have stains and visible dirt. The dining room table is comically shoved into too small of a room. The kitchen and living area are way too small for the amount of bedrooms—which are really large. This house has the least amount of utensils I’ve ever seen. There’s only 2 pots and 2 skillets! The electric skillet does not work. The outdoor furniture is old and gross. There is a lot of road noise due to the house being at a 3 way stop. Again, you can’t beat the location, but in my opinion, this is not a nice home (used to be, I’m sure!). We will not return to this home.0

We paid $26,000 for 9 nights and the place was dirty.
We got 2 rolls of TP per bathroom, 2 rolls of paper towels for the kitchen, NO kitchen towels, 4 laundry pods, hotel size dish soap enough for one or two days, enough dishwasher soap for 3 loads and 6 30 gallon kitchen bags. WOW I totally had to stock the entire house during my vacation.
I submitted two request for service and never heard from anyone.
I think with a big houses for a big price tag the care we got was not ok.
When we arrived there was a man in the house he said he was there to look at the railing, he reassured us that it was ok.
Half way thru the trip 3 mental rails came flying down to 2 flights. Very dangerous...
I noticed that they had been previously clued???????
The elevator was fixed twice and we finally decided not to use it at all.
The beach and house, minus what I wrote, was extremely nice.
Kitchen was a good size for us.

I rented Not The Norm beach house! The beach house was great, with fantastic views. We rented this house for the weekend of our wedding and it was perfect. There were some minor things that needed attention but it all worked out. A downfall with the house is that we were excited to use the hot tub but there were times where the actual pool was warmer than the hot tub.. The golf cart was very convenient!! The customer service was okay.. there would be sometimes where someone would reply to my email right away, there would be sometimes where it took a few emails for a reply, sometimes where it took weeks to reply, and even sometimes where there would be no reply so I would have to call. We had emailed about an early check in due to getting into Destin earlier and not wanting to carry our luggage around everywhere but never got a response so I called and talked to a few different people and got different answers every time. The first person said they can see there is a check out the day before we would be checking in so most likely would be able to but to call back the Monday of the week we are checking in to double check. I called Monday and the next person had said they aren’t sure of the cleaning crew and their schedule so to call back Thursday (day of check in). I called back Thursday morning and they said they had to get ahold of the supervisor of the house and would give me a call right back... never got a call back, so I decided to call back and see if there’s anyway we could drop our luggage off, talked to the same person and once again, he mentioned that he did get ahold of the supervisor and they had to let the cleaning company in, we drove by the house many times and there was never anyone at the house on Thursday, and I was told I’d be given a call right back and I never did. So we did what we had planned on Thursday and waited until later to check in. Overall, it was a great stay and I would book with Five Star Properties again!

We had several issues;
hot tub did not work for the first five days
refrigerator was not reset after cleaning and did not function adequately for the first four days
disposal broke two times
portion of the front window was broken at the time of arrival
roof leak in pool room only visible with heavy downpour

The property is awesome. This is our second stay and we never want to leave!

The Hypnautic house was amazing! The house is very spacious and close to the beach. The pool and game room was awesome. We highly recommend staying at this property.

5 Star was great to work with. We had a wonderful vacation and the couple of glitches we encountered, 5 Star was quick to help us with. We will definitely rebook again next year.

It is hard to get their Customer Service on the phone. The pedestrian gate code on the app was wrong and they forgot to put the code for the door when our reservation was ready and it took forever to get through to customer service.

5 O'Clock Somewhere is a GREAT house to rent. The pool is spectacular. Having a lake for a backyard versus another house looming over you is exceptional. The location to the beach is easy-as-pie (with added golf cart too) and gives you this fabulous pool/backyard in the process. Inside is a spacious beautiful kitchen, 2 living areas, game room, plenty of luxurious bedroom/bath options with comfy mattresses and linens. And fantastic outdoor spaces abound. Incl's 4 bikes and large golf cart too.

Working with 5 Star Properties was a wonderful experience. It makes all the difference in the world to get, not only a person on the phone, but a local person. Having not been to the area before, I was able to get helpful information whenever I needed it about location, logistics, etc. And all of my requests were followed through on, like making sure the pool heater was turned on in time to be effective on our arrival day (December), that the outside grill was cleaned and that the house was very clean. The reps were always caring, interested and energetic. They stand by their word if there is an issue.

We rented Palazzo Del Mar for our wedding week. We are out of towers so we had a lot of questions. Every single time we called five star properties someone answered the phone, and they were friendly and so helpful. We were provided with a guest service contact that was also fantastic with communication and helping with our Every need throughout the week. I also have to mention that the property was just as incredible in person as it was in the photo's and we were so happy with all of it that we are already planning another trip back! THANK YOU FIVE STAR!

Five Star Reservation and customer when reserving the home was Excellent!! The agent I work with was engaged, knew her job, and responsive. However, the Property Don't Worry Beach Happy is subpar. We've rented several beach properties in the world and is the least favorite thus far.

We arrived on the property to find beach chairs and the location had not been set up. Was advised that we would have to wait until the next day. I called the office. The Male (I have his name) was very nonchalant. In his response, he stated to me "whatever ever" which was very upsetting. I blew a fuse... He had the setup done the same day. He states the young man on the beach was new and didn't know what he was doing.

Again. the property was okay. We were not able to use the elevator as the instructions provided stated to hit the call button. There was not a call button to be found. Outside patio furniture by the pool was old, dry rotted, and needs to be replaced. The grill has NEVER been clean. We could not use it as it was filled to capacity with water and some other foreign objects. Whatever it was it was despicable.

Lastly, at 7:45 am the morning of our departure… some of my guests were leaving as they had earlier flights. A gentleman “vendor” for 5 Star Properties wanted to know if he could come to the back and clean the pool. I asked my guest(s) if they were through with the pool. They stated “no” as we had until 10 am to checkout. Their flight wasn’t leaving until 2 pm. The gentleman then stated that it would only take him 15 mins to clean the pool. He was pushy. I then advised that no, we have the home until 10 am. His response to me, “Fine, I will not be coming back” and he left. Very poor customer service.

At the end of the day... We had a great time with the mishaps.

The house itself was great but there was room for improvement. We were only able to use the pool 1 day. The pool was dirty upon arrival. The pool vendor didn’t come out until the morning of day 3. There was a random swarm of bees around the pool on day 4. Like 100s of bees maintenance came out to spray. It really didn’t help much. Maintenance said they would call pest control. Pest control never came. There was an issue with the air on the 2nd floor. It tripped the breaker twice.

Bedroom didn’t have drapes but was fixed couple of days later
Had a late flight last day but Couldn’t stay on the beach after check out at 10 am and couldn’t rent chairs last day since had to leave property. Had to drive to adjacent park to use the beach last day!
Also couldn’t rent surf board outside the property!
