Fly a Spitfire Avis 

The long Spite Fire flight to Dover along with the chase plan was an unforgettable experience for all four of us. Detailed information provided by the the pilots and team before and during the flight enhanced the experience. Nothing was rushed and the provision of videos of it all means we can "relive" it at leisure. The tour of the hangers was also exceptional and detailed information provided to one of our members made his day. Thank you very much.

Yes it hugely expensive but really a once in a lifetime.

Met some wonderful people including Wayne who did the cockpit and safety procedures – great banter with him.
Laurie who did the hangar tour, very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail, was easy to understand and made it enjoyable and very interesting.
Pete my pilot who was exceptional and his formation flying with the chase plane was positionally perfect.
Flight was perfect, did two victory rolls, two wing overs and two hands on for me in control. What a wonderful airplane, no wonder the WWII pilots revered it so much.
A much treasured entry in my Pilots Flying Log on a truly exceptional day, there are no words to describe the feelings I went through and will be feeling for ever.

This was a fantastic birthday experience. From the time we arrived as a family we were looked after and engaged with by the staff.
The Spitfire flight was piloted in the safe hands of Barry Hughes and was an unbelievable once in a lifetime moment.

Excellent all around experience. Superb.

From arrival to take off to landing and post landing pics and certificate, it was all smooth and guided through with clear and concise instructions.

As a recently retired Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, this was on my bucket list. The 35 min flight was just long enough for me to get some flying in and enjoy the countryside. My partner booked the formation flight (optional extra cost) which allowed her to experience some of it with me. The team were excellent and very accommodating. The hanger tour was outstanding.

Things to note. If you take Uber, use the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar as the destination rather than the address. Uber's maps have the wrong location for the address. I had to convince the Uber driver to drive the extra mile to get to the hanger. Best way back to London is Uber to Orpington Railway Station and train back.

The flight was predictably amazing and the whole experience made even more enjoyable by the enthusiasm, attention and professionalism of all the staff including the brilliant pilot. My family were able to be more involved as well,by taking the chaser flight which they all very much enjoyed. Thank you

I had the most wonderful time! It was always a dream of mine to fly in the iconic Spitfire and the reality didn't disappoint!

The staff I spoke with were all friendly and knowledgeable, and their ability to put you at ease was second to none! The attention to your own personal safety was paramount and they made absolutely sure you fully understood the safety procedures before you flew.

My wonderful pilot Barry, whom I can't praise highly enough, was not only a fantastic flyer but he made the experience extra special as he made me feel like a VIP! Thank you also to Dimitri who looked after me and to Dell for the very interesting hangar tour.

I would definitely recommend a flight in a Spitfire, especially from Biggin Hill, and would like to encourage those who may have doubts about doing so to book the experience as it won't be regretted.

What a fantastic experience. The team look after you really well. Prefilght the pilot describes what is going to happen especially round the chase plane we hired. Note chase plane is well worth it but only stays with the Spitfire for 15 mins. Down to the coast you fly the Spit, Then along the seven sisters and Beachy head , Victory roll and home - brilliant

So, this week I fulfilled a lifetime ambition by flying in a Spitfire.
Flew from the iconic Biggin Hill WWII airfield and out over Beachy Head and the white cliffs. My wife flew in a chase plane alongside for a while and took some amazing videos and in-flight pics.
My pilot, ‘Smithy’ (Ian Smith) is an ex Red Arrow and commanded the BBMF for a number of years, and currently flies Typhoon Eurofighters. The ‘best of the best’!
The flight included three victory rolls over the white cliffs which was sensational! I also got to fly this beautiful machine!
This has been top of my bucket list for years and really thought I’d probably never get the chance until my wonderful wife bought it for me as a birthday present. It really is the most amazing experience. If you ever get the chance and you like old warbirds, do not hesitate….you really won’t regret it.

This is an experience that should not be missed if at all possible. The team at Biggin Hill are very accommodating and friendly and re-arranged my flight as I was able to get there earlier than anticipated. We were shown around their workshops and the collection of planes prior to the flight by a very knowledgeable gentleman who was enthusiastic and friendly. I was shown the safety videos before the flight and fitted out with a flight suit and gloves, then introduced to the pilot. A very experienced and friendly man who you knew you would be safe with. The flight was taken over the full coastal route in perfect weather and was something you will never forget. I was also allowed to take the controls of the Spitfire on a couple of occasions, which showed how sensitive they are and the slightest movement got an instant reaction. To say you’ve ‘flown a Spitfire’ is true, but seems a bit fraudulent when you consider those brave young men in the War! I would encourage anyone who can possibly do this to get it booked as soon as possible. You will be well looked after and in-flight footage from two cameras is provided so you can re-visit the experience time and again. Thanks to all at Biggin Hill and especially my pilot. It was a brilliant experience, no compromise on safety and the pilot , Jeremy and staff were fantastic. Special mention for Simon for a fascinating hangar experience, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. 10/10.

If you are interested in warbirds then this just has to be done! I was lucky that this was my 70th birthday present and the Flyaspitfire team at Biggin Hill could not have been more helpful, considerate and professional in their approach. Great day and experience..... long may the opportunity to fly in these magnificent planes last.

An amazing experience from start to finish for my dad who opted for the White Cliffs of Dover flight .
From the first phone call to book the flight , the welcoming arrival , the flight itself and the hanger tour were all 5* . We really couldn’t fault anything at all ! Thank you to each and everyone of you involved in making the experience so amazing !
