Wanted to try foraging for a while. Booked this as a birthday gift then wondered what on earth we'd find in winter!
No need to worry, there was a great variety of plants to try, supported by interesting information and anecdotes.
Jim had prepared other foraged food to accompany what we found on the day and we ended with a tasty snack cooked in the woods.
It's great that this company has events in different locations as we will definitely do another.

Ordered too late to receive for Christmas but they went out of their way to get involved me in time

It started with booking a foraging course and he learnt so much,iv bought the calendar two years running and just got some of the dips and sauces.

We had a fantastic experience with Joel at the reservoir! Even though it was a cold and rainy day, it was beyond enjoyable and full of great knowledge. We learned about so many edible plants in the area.

Joel came fully prepared with more than enough nibbles, tea and equipment for all of us to make use of. We couldn't have asked for a better guide or experience and I do hope we run into Joel in Sheffield again in the future!

A great 3 hour introduction to foraging. Jim was excellent - relaxed, professional and very informative. The session was topped off with a superb outdoor snack, cooked by our host, and containing the mushrooms we'd just gathered.

I hope to repeat the experience during another season next year.

Grace was very welcoming and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot and it was very useful to have an email follow up of all the plants identified. She managed to connect with each of us in the group and was open to all manner of questions about the plants and forest area. And then there was the surprise edible treat at the end which was fabulous! I won't say what and spoil the surprise, but what a treat!

Wonderful Forage & Nibble session with Jim at Holker Hall. The variety of mushrooms we found was amazing and he was so knowledgable and interesting. We even had chance to "taste" a poisonous mushroom, under supervision of course. It was a truly immersive experience and at the end Jim cooked us up 3 different types of wild mushroom served on his home baked sourdough bread with homemade wild garlic pesto and damson ketchup topped with dried wire weed...delicious. Highly recommended, we will be going on further sessions and brilliant gift also.

Just had a fabulous day at Holker Hall foraging with Jim. He is knowledgeable and fun making this a great course for ‘would be’ foragers. We will definitely be signing up for another session very soon.BTW , Holker Hall is well worth a visit if you haven’t been .

I bought my wife a couple of vouchers at Christmas. The first she tried to use was down in Folkestone, an hours drive. No one turned up. The first she knew was when I looked on the website and it said cancelled. Apparently “she should have got an email’, but no email was received. She’s taken tomorrow off work to go to one in Eltham only to be told at 4.55 tonight by email that it’s cancelled tomorrow. She’s livid.
