Appalling behaviour

I am sending this on behalf of my friend who has been treated in an appalling way from this company.
They are aware she is a vulnerable adult.
She suffered a severe attack in her flat and the police were called.
Her mother is now ill with dementia and is in in a home which she is trying to sort out which is not in the UK so she has had to travel.
They want to know who the occupants are in her flat.
We have told them it's her son who is staying with her for moral support.
They won't accept a phone call rather than a visit and we don't know how long she will be away for.
She tried to take her own life and is receiving psychriatric help from the stress of her attack, mother being ill and now them harrasing her.
The doctors and police advised us to contact the housing association to leave her alone.
They have even contacted the police about her case and want to know the police reference number!
They want to speak her her son at the flat and he does not want to speak to them.
Appalling behaviour for someone to be harrased after going through severe trauma and who already suffers from severe mental illness.

Shameful.

Hello.

I am writing this review as I am in despair with this housing association.
I live in a age restricted bungalow because I have chronic health conditions and disabilities which affects my Day to Day life dramatically.
I moved here from private rented accommodation eight years ago as I was struggling with the stairs.
I should have listened to my intuition when I came to sign the contract as they do not let you view the property beforehand. I can see why!.
The bungalow was in a terrible mess . To cut a long story short it looked like a sqat. Rubble all over the floor where a big hole was in the wall where a gas fire pipe had been . Bits of wallpaper hanging off the walls and the biggest red flag off all was the smell.
The whole bungalow which is only one bedroom reaked so bad off what I can only discsibe as a full bust bin on a hot day. foul smelling drains and a gentleman's urinal.
Even the agent had got the door wide open when i got there.
I had to go ahead with the tenancy as I had given notice to my landlady.
I was devastated to think it was acceptable to rent a property which is supposed to be for the elderly or people with disabilities in a condition like this.

Anyway this is just the beginning of a string of problems I have had which brings me to this reason for my review because I have had enough.

I had a survey done on the loft space which futures organised for energy efficiency certificate.
Apparently they found a leak around the chimney so they arranged for tradesmen to attend to repair it. Straight forward enough you would think.
Two tradesmen arrived and went into the loft space and informed me it wasn't a big Job they needed to go on the roof to fill in the area round the chimney that was leaking.

On the chimney is an old TV aerial that was up there when I moved and had been up there for many years as it looked very old.
The aerial was and always had been since I moved in at a 45 degree angle which looked odd but it was always like that.

They mentioned something about the aerial and informed them it had always been that way.

They were up there a while and when they came down from the roof I went outside and was met with a nasty surprise. The aerial was not attached to the chimney at all and lay horizontal accross the top of the roof. I said it wasn't like that and they quickly pushed back and showed me a photo they took of it on my roof , which doesn't prove anything.

I soon realised that they were going to deny all knowledge of this so they left quickly with me being left in a hazardous dangerous condition of the aerial not being attached by a bracket to the chimney it is swinging by a wire!.

I phoned futures and was again met with defensiveness and a blunt dismissive " we don't attend to aerials.

Well , I have phoned citizens advice and got some information and I also have an appointment on Tuesday with them because there is a health and safety risk.
There are housing association regulations.

The aerial is old, redundant and not been working for many years, it was is a fitting that is on the roof which is the housing associations responsible to keep maintained and safe.

I have never used this aerial never paid much attention to it as I had sky dish installed the day after I moved in , and the old dish ( from previous tenants removed).

Futures housing are saying that this old aerial that was installed by previous tenants is now my responsibility.

If my satellite dish fell off the wall I would not expect futures to come and put it back on the wall. That would be ridiculous. The satellite dish is mine I had it installed.

The old aerial on the roof is not mine, I didn't have it put up there, it is not connected to my TV. It is not my responsibility the roof is the housing associations responsibility. It as installed by previous tenants so it should have been removed before I moved in.

The other issue is the health and safety seriousness of this situation.

The housing association as left a area on which they have been working in a hazardous and dangerous condition.

This could cause serious injury to someone if the wire snaps and it falls as the aerial is not attached to the chimney.

I am afraid to take the rubbish out.

I have looked around the bungalow for the bracket that attached the aerial to the chimney.
If the bracket had failed it should be on the ground or it could be stuck In the guttering.

I took some photos myself and on closer inspection on zooming in the bracket is now at the other end of the pole approximately 3 ft on the end of the antenna!
Gravity pulls downwards, not upward or accross. There is no way the bracket that was holding this aerial in place could have got there unless someone put it there!.

This is how this housing association treats their vulnerable tenants.

At worst someone could get hurt.
And it will likely damage their roof.

Expect an official letter on appointment with Citizens advice.

Disgusting organisation

Unfortunately it wouldn’t allow me to put 0 stars, so had to give 1, what a joke this housing association really is, my dad owns his property and unfortunately it’s above a tenant of future homes, who has been relocated before for noise disturbance and Anti social behaviour, future homes felt the best option was to place them between the elderly and vulnerable, this young couple of babies and are constantly up all night every night, banging shouting screaming, have 3-4 males round every night smoking out window, I report to future homes who have just brushed to away as they don’t want to sort it I now have to go ombudsman which I will, my dads voice will be heard, he is nearly 70 and if this continues they will put him in an early grave, then receive what has come across like a bribe from the council offering my dad £50 as a good will gesture…… for what, putting up with them neighbours or is it take the money and no complaint….. disgusting, lost for words and Vicky the local future homes helper, pointless, she is a busy body and just runs to the flat downstairs and updates them before we have a chance to get complaint going. I will not let this drop, they will take accountability for the tenants they place into homes, the home was adapted for someone in a wheelchair, the current tenant told them her sister is wheelchair bound and lives with them, even had a commode delivered, the sister lives else where, walks and doesn’t even live there, the tenant is playing them like a fiddle and there allowing it. Not any more……

Absolute joke of a landlord

Absolute joke of a landlord, ive lived in the same house for 27, made lots of complaints, but nothing ever comes of it, had a water leak in the property for months now, they came out and anglian water came out both agreed it was futures responsibility, but it still hasn't been rectified all why out water bill is going through the roof, they instructed pj liliies to sort the leak, who lied to futures and said we had refused them entry to the property on 2 occasions which never happened, pj lillies booked in a contractor to come out this morning at 8.30am to find the leak, I had to ring them at 9.20am to see why no 1 had turned up, and was told they weren't coming, they think that's acceptable, and that its ok for people to be able to have time of work at the drop of a hat, so now have no idea still when this leak will be sorted!!!!!

I've had to live with an alarm system…

I've had to live with an alarm system that goes off when it likes. It also goes way over the required decibels permitted. Even after our local MPs get involved, they choose to ignore. Why are businesses like this allowed to act in this manner? this has been going on for years.

DISCRIMINATORY HOUSING ASSOCIATION

Lady on the switch board tonight has sworn at my blind friend who is locked out of their flat block. Who’s been trying to get in for 30 - 40 minutes. I rang their housing association as they have 4% battery. She told me they can sleep on the streets when I said they have no where else to go. They can’t come to mine due to a curfew. She called them a “bastard”on the phone and refuses to get a lock smith out to let them in the flat block. Told to sleep on the streets despite the fact they have a property under them. They now want to move out immediately and I don’t blame them!! As this housing association is apparently more than happy; for a severely blind person to sleep on the streets!! Has even said will take 2-5 working days to call out the locksmith to change the locks till they can be let in.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS HOUSING ASSOCIATION!!! THEY ARE A JOKE AND CLEARLY NOT DISABLED FRIENDLY!!

This lady has DIRECTLY DISCRIMINATED my friend AND DISCRIMINATED THEM ARISING FROM THEIR DISABILITY. She’s being reported to the police whom are disgusted with her attitude. Police have rung the housing association to complain to her. Her managers as well as her CEO will be made aware of this! She also refused to give her name. However since she’s on the switch board for tonight. I’m sure her bosses will know exactly who she is and reprimand her for her actions tonight!!
