GEDmatch Avis 70

A very useful site for comparing and finding dna matches. I especially like the Ancestor projects and the comparing two kits tool, as well as the absolutely necessary one-to-one autosomal tool.

Fantastic resource and easy to use. Upload your raw DNA from whichever company you tested with, ie Ancestry, 123.com etc (there are details on all these sites about how to get your raw data) then you'll get a number ie ZK123456. You can then use the free tools on the Gedmatch website to see who you are related to. You compare their number with yours. Massive amount of free resources on the Gedmatch website, highly recommend.

GedMatch incorporates DNA Platforms, such as Ancestry, FamilyTreeDNA, MyHeritage etc., so you are widening the net, when looking for DNA matches. GedMatch Tools are excellent, when you wish to go into detail with DNA matches.

We have been using this tool for around five years. It is CRUCIAL to doing effective genetic genealogy and adds a whole level of forensic analysis for family tree research. It is, simply, a 'MUST HAVE'.

I like that matches from other sites can come to gedmatch and find even more matches for free. Wish there was a field for making notes like there is at Ancestry or MyHeritage as sometimes I look at a name in my matches list and say "I think I remember that name" but unless I find my note at one of the other suppliers I can forget.

This is the perfect tool for comparing related DNA kits where the testing has been done by different companies (= different laboratories).
In my case, I have had my test done in 3 or 4 different laboratories and while each of these individual companies and their websites offer usually excellent comparison features, the music stops if you wish to compare across DNA testing sites.
Here, at GEDMATCH, the music starts again.

You have an important tool which shows common matches for two people. I think it will be very useful if you add another possibility to find out common matches for 3, or may be even for 4 people. That will help a lot.

I have been using Gedmatch for breaking down genealogical brick walls and all the tests offered are superb. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for Gedmatch which offers an amazing array of ways to search for lost ancestors. Anytime I have had help from the Gedmatch team they have been prompt and most helpful. Thank you to everyone who keeps this site working at the highest quality.

Make changes and updates without notice. Have requested and demanded my data gets deleted as a direct consequence of appalling customer service.

I never had to review good companies as I am happy with their service. Your response below serves to underline my bad feeling about gedmatch. You really have no idea how to run your operation and deal with customers properly.

No change. My issue with you is still unresolved and I have told you to delete my data which you still have not done. Been with you for over 6 years too.
