If you are a customer who is missing money or a former employee who was never paid, you need to know who is actually responsible for the collapse of Gizmogrind. The owner, Ahmed Bafagih, abruptly closed the business and walked away, leaving behind a massive trail of unpaid debts, unissued customer refunds, and unpaid employee salaries.

Rather than taking responsibility and paying what he owes to the people who kept his business running, he is now hiding from his obligations. However, he is still actively promoting himself and boasting about his professional successes online.

I highly encourage anyone who has suffered financially because of Gizmogrind to contact the owner directly. You can find him promoting his services on his personal website, as well as on his active LinkedIn profile here.
Do not let him quietly walk away from the financial damage he has caused to his customers and his staff. Hold him accountable. Person is really toxic!

DO NOT send your device to this company, they are a SCAM! Especially MAE YAROSLAV. Between February 13, 2026 to February 21, 2026, she gave me non-answers as to why I hadn’t received payment when my device was received by their facility on February 11, 2026. Fast forward to today, April 5, 2026, I have received absolutely NO communication about the status of my payment despite having sent out numerous emails. Their website is also “down” and cannot be accessed.

WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - perfectly functioning iPhone 15 PM sent Feb 3rd to their Gerrard st partner ProFix (who does have solid reviews). Device passed inspection as it should have in condition I selected. This is where it goes off the rails, Mae Yaroslav (mae @ gizmogrind.com) emails Feb 12th 2026 saying “Your device passed the inspection process and it has been forwarded to our payments team for schedule.” Well the payment never came, after several follow-ups Mae has given excuse after excuse on why etransfer payment is still pending. Offers to return, but given the circumstance I cannot trust that my device with OEM box would be returned in the exact same condition as it was sent.

Ongoing situation and will update this review as the story develops. My advice is to do business elsewhere. At best this company engages in unethical business practices and cannot be trusted, at worst is a complete scam. BEWARE

The process and service is amazing. They offer the best price by leaps and bounds; not look at how much the battery holds its charge.

Never got the money for the phone. I sent my iPhone 11 back in May 2023. it's been almost 2 years and I've gotten no email or acknowledgement at all. I can't even link my PayPal account in the website. It just glitches and re-loads the site every time I try to click to link in.

Online process was super easy and the estimate I got was higher than other places. Shipping was easy. They had my phone for a while before I got paid, and I had to check in twice, but the money eventually came and it was the amount I was quoted, no downgrading after inspection.

I sent in my iPhone 14 Pro 30 days ago and I’ve had some communication but they just make excuses like they’re super busy and promise you’ll get paid on a certain day to no avail and no communication. I’ve been dealing with them for years now and I’ve never had such a bad experience I wouldn’t use them for this anymore I’m starting to doubt they’re legit anymore. Wouldn’t recommend.
