Glasgow Taxis Avis 

If I could give minus stars I would. Horrendous. Booked a taxi from my hotel to the Hydro for a concert and another to take me back. Booked a week in advance. Neither taxi turned up. Another hotel guest let me share their taxi to the concert and we made it in with 10 minutes to spare. I had originally allowed an hour. After the concert waited for 25 minutes then got a recorded phone call asking if I still wanted a taxi. Spoke to the operator who basically told me I had no hope that there were no taxis available for booking. Doesn’t matter if you book in advance they are subject to availability! Didn’t care that I was a woman alone. Venue security told me to use Uber and that driver arrived within 2 minutes. Then I got a text from Glasgow Taxis which said ‘ YEAH WE SERVICE THE RANK PER THE COUNCIL / POLICE. ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOK FROM THERE WITH US REALLY. THANKS OK. ‘

Was in taxi 156 brilliant character good customer service and quick drop off definitely recomend

Absolutely appalled by the complete lack of compassion and professionalism shown by Glasgow Taxis.

A wheelchair accessible taxi was pre-booked for 11:30am on 1 July, with clear instructions for the driver to buzz the door of the flat on arrival. These instructions were provided because my father in law is receiving end of life (palliative) care, is extremely frail, and uses a wheelchair. The sole purpose of the request was to prevent him from having to wait outside unnecessarily.

The driver ignored the instructions entirely. No door buzz. No phone call. The taxi simply arrived and left.

What happened next is unacceptable. Terrified that he would miss a close family member’s funeral, my father in law felt he had no choice but to sit outside in his wheelchair, in the rain, for around 30 minutes waiting for another taxi. No one receiving palliative care should ever be put in that position.

The most shocking part, however, was the response from Glasgow Taxis. Rather than apologise or acknowledge the seriousness of what had happened, we were met with an astonishing lack of empathy. We were told they would not expect their drivers to get out of the vehicle because “it’s Maryhill after all” a disgraceful comment that unfairly stereotypes an entire community and was used as an excuse for failing to follow simple, pre-booked instructions.

Not once did anyone offer a genuine apology. Not once did anyone show any compassion for a vulnerable, terminally ill customer.

When a company provides accessible transport, it has a responsibility to understand that many of its passengers rely on those reasonable adjustments. Ignoring them isn’t just poor customer service, it can have serious consequences.

If this is how Glasgow Taxis treats vulnerable passengers and their families at one of the most difficult times of their lives, then people deserve to know before trusting them with their loved ones.

Wish I could give negative stars. We booked a cab four days before for it not to turn up. We were left with two young grandchildren and no means of getting back to hotel

Absolutely appalling company. Pre booked a taxi early afternoon for an 11pm pick, left a lone female waiting an hour and 20 mins for them to cancel it without warning or explanation. Don’t try phoning all you get is an automated service or left on hold in a queue that never gets answered. Disgusted to say the least.

Once again badly let down! Pre-booked and got an automated call 20 minutes AFTER the scheduled collection time. My 91 year old mother was standing on the street outside her home waiting to be collected. I will aim never to use again.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Booked 1 taxi to take us to an event on the same day. Arrived 20 minutes late. Prebooked return taxi to take us from event to hotel at 01.30am. Booked this 4 days before the day of event as knew they would be busy. No show and when called number said no driver had been allocated as yet and they would allocate someone soon. No show and had to walk from event to hotel. Would not recommend and will not be using again as not reliable.

I'm astonished at all the negative comments I only use Glasgow Taxis every month or so they have always responded quickly. Today they were amazing.I booked a taxi for my other half this morning and it was there in 5 minutes and delivered to destination on time Returing home he announced he couldn't find his wallet after 1hr of searching I phoned Glasgow Taxis in case he had left it in the cab The helpful lady tried to contact driver to discover he was at the drop of and had found the wallet and was enquiring if they could contact owner Wallet with considerable amount of cash and cards safely returned Thanks to honest driver and Glasgow Taxis

Used the app for years, all of a sudden with the recent price increase the app refuses to take any available card, literally no way to book a taxi even if willing to pay more. Had to go with a competitor charging 3x the price because literally no other way to get home. Two single women on their own, do better or pack it in. Disgusting way to run a business literally giving people zero option but to go with a rival business like Uber

YCL, near the emirates Glasgow , , she got nervous at traffic lights and stalled her car and you were so aggressive and nasty , what is wrong with your drivers , no wonder nobody uses them !! Vile driver

Waited an hour after calling at 1.20pm on a Sunday afternoon. Initially it said 11 min . After 30 min I called it said none in area . I called numerous times after this and it kept changing with the odd a few min to mainly said none available . At some point I spoke to operator he apologised n said we are trying . 1 hour later it came 😡😡😡 ye never rely on them , esp if you have something booked to go to .

Be prepared to be ripped off in Glasgow, whether you are a visitor or a local, you will be driven around that extra roundabout or taken on a deviation over the fly-over. Do not trust any of them. You need to know what your fare as well as your route should be before getting into the cab. Be warned. Just take public transport, if you have the time.

Pre booked a pick up the night before to get to a 6am train from Queen St. Had to phone as App just said ‘assigning driver’. Nothing available in my area. Staff pleasant but unhelpful and blasé. Made me like I was insane to even expect there to be a taxi available in my area. Hint: that’s the reason for booking 12 hours in advance. Reliability is fundamental to a successful taxi business. Badly let down and won’t use again.

Do not use! Booked a taxi in advance from the Hydro (so didn't join the queue at the rank). Booked taxi never came....55 mins later we had to get a taxi from the queue! App just said 'assigning driver'. Extremely poor...esp as many many Glasgow Taxis passed up and picked up at the queue (ie were not heading to a prebooked person!). Very poor

Abysmal pick up time, over priced and extremely unprofessional driver. Glasgow Taxis used to be the go to in reliability and integrity, now it seems the standards of drivers has dropped. The app is incorrect and there is no wonder they are going down the pan.

First time we used them via hotel reception they arrived quickly no issues and good service
However 3 hours later …Awful experience, (booked through app) , booking was accepted , they did not come .

I phoned several times to get an automated awnser ( press 1 if you still want the service , press 0 to talk to a dispatcher who never picked up the call) shocking and disappointing.after several times of this (45 mins after the arranged pick up ) .. Eventually managed to talk to someone after phoning a different number to be told that no driver had been allocated and I quote ‘ no driver has been allocated, we’re not sending any taxis out to your location as it’s buisy and the taxi rank have priority ‘ …however they had taken my payment method and there is a fine for cancellation …about an hour in all of standing in the freezing glasgow wind.

If I had the option to give zero stars, I absolutely would. I want my refund because what they’re doing feels like a straight-up scam.

Here’s what happened:
I booked a ride, they charged me immediately, and then kept showing “finding a driver” for 30 minutes. No one was assigned. I even called their helpline — they recognised my number since I’m registered — and all they said was, “We have not yet assigned a driver for your upcoming ride.” No solution, no help.

So basically they take your money first, make you wait forever, provide no driver, and then if you cancel (even though it’s THEIR fault), they charge you a cancellation fee of almost 33%. Absolutely ridiculous.

After waiting half an hour with zero updates, I had no choice but to cancel — and still got charged.

Glasgow Taxis seriously needs to fix this system. Charging customers without providing a driver is unacceptable. Avoid unless you enjoy paying for nothing.

If you have to be anywhere by a certain time then avoid Glasgow black cabs at all costs they are the most unreliable company in the West of Scotland I use them quite regular and I've got used to the ridiculous weights sometimes up to 90 minutes they have no consideration of people's onwards connections so if you are get the train coach or flight use somebody else because the chances are you will not make your flight but then they will come up with some excuse of why the attack he's not being sent yet they're the biggest company in the West of Scotland

Historically, this may have once been Glasgow's Number 1 Taxi Company, presently -Avoid at All Costs!
A taxi, pre-booked to take a family with children, from the South of Glasgow into Buchanan Street bus station, for the Edinburgh Airport Link bus as they had a flight to catch in Edinburgh.
Taxi did not turn up despite the App saying it was on the way. Difficulty in obtaining a 'human' on the phone after 45 minutes from booked time. When finally contacted to be told "no taxis available".
Unacceptable quality of service and unacceptable communications.
Customers accept the premium cost of a 'black cab' as it would be reasonable to expect reliabilty.
Stick to local private hire or Uber.
I do not need to describe the worry and stress this caused.
