Avoid in Billund airport!!
Avoid if you can!!
Came in to Billund airport to buy foreign currency.
With "flat" exchange rate, I would pay 500 DKK to buy the foreign currency.
I have to pay some fees, ok..
I was charged 689!!
50 DKK airport fee for any amount, ok.
But 139 just for the exchange rate?!?
They're taking over 25% for their service!!
Avoid if you can!!!
Tengan cuidado
Tengan cuidado. No conviene para nada. Realmente se aprovechan.
ESTAFADORES
Scam
Travelling is always stressful, specially with kids.
And this company makes it harder in the airports.
Not once not twice, it happened many times to me and other people I know. The staff working are not honest people, once they realize you are stressed or late for your flight they try to scam you. Yesterday I went to their office, I was late with two kids, the lady didn't want to give me my refund in euro she didn't have any proof but she insist to give me the money in my currency with the rate she wanted, she said with the services removed it's a €1186,29, I accepted and then she gave 8000
Moroccan dirham (while 1€ is 10,85 dhs so normally she should have given me 12870 dhs) when I refused she said Madam you have already accepted I can't do nothing for you. When I said I am not flying today I want my money, she said we are going to count again, I said I payed in euro l want refund in euro she refused and this is a scam!! When she counted again she gave me 10310 dhs instead of 8000 dhs. It's still very low but my kids were crying and I needed to leave.
My question is HOW COME ?? How come the rate changed, they play with it as they want, they scam people and make their life harder, this is theft. Shame on, you take advantage of people's stress to scam them
Global Exchange at Melbourne Airport
At the Melbourne Airport preparing to fly to Fiji we made the big mistake of thinking we needed some Fijian cash to pay for incidentals. For each AUD we got FJD1.08 from Global Exchange. They also took a AUD4.90 fee. Using a Mastercard for purchases in Fiji during the subsequent week, for each AUD we got FJD1.43. Global Exchange is a total rip off.
Horrible rate.

Would ideally give zero or minus if those rankings were available. Can you imagine , they gave us 66.45 euro to 100 USD at Barcelona airport when the rate should have been 92? Almost 40% commission !!!!!
Fraud and scamsters cheating unsuspecting and harried customers at the airport.
Legal scam
Legal scam, avoid at all cost. Took about 45% of The money i needed exchanged , for them self. Most exchanges are a bad deal, this one tho is a clear scam.

I wanted to exchange 1700$ to € and they wanted to change it into Dkr before changing to € and a double transaction fee (5o Dkr) and all together the difference between the 1700$ and the end result in € was 400€ less than the official course - I wonder how this can be legal???
I of course did not change my hard earned money there

If I could give -10 stars I would
If I could give -10 starts I would.
I got completely scammed yesterday at CDG Paris airport by Global Exchange, Terminal 2E.
I came there with 350 GBP to be changed in Japanese Yen, and left with 37000 JPY instead of 64000. They ripped me off by about 200 Eur.
Btw they also told me that they had to convert the GBP in EUR first and then to JPY, which doubled the fees and their exchange margin.
I realised the scam only once I arrived in Japan, too late to complain or ask for refund.
I feel very naive and stupid to not have checked the exchange rate in advance, I knew I would pay a fee but trusted that it would be reasonable. I feel angry and fooled and decided to share my story here hoping that in can help others and reduce this fraudulent company's business.
Avoid ! Don't follow my footprint !
It is not merely a negative feedback. I wonder if it was a fraud or scam, you can make your judgement based on the experience below !
How could you imagine a FX company which looks decent, locating in 2E of CDG is allowed to scam ? Is the France Tourism Department /Police / Airport Management not doing anything ? I will try to contact France Tourism to file a complaint (I have evidence). I don't want to see another victim !
Here is the story :
- I told the lady at the service desk that I wanted to change 200GBP in EURO
- she picked up a calculator and told me an exchange rate was 1.1x, sounded reasonable
- I said okay
- then she said that it will be EUR175.xx and asked me to sign on the screen
- I input my email address and signed as my mind wasn't super clear at that point in time*
- she gave me EUR 170.xx (after EUR 5 transaction fee). I also received an email with the invoice, then I walked away
- then I felt like something was wrong and thought I should should have got more than EUR2xx. To prove, I googled which told me I should get EUR239. Then I walked back
- the lady said that 'EUR' was more expensive than 'GBP' and thus I should get less in EUR
- I showed them my google result. The man sitting next to her said 'No, No, the exchange rate I saw was internet rate which an individual customer will not get'.
- Apparently, the man was trying to confuse me and hoped that I walked away
- I didn't walk away but asked the lady and the man to explain. They ignored me.
- So, the only thing I could do was to ask other customers who were lining up at the service desk to help me prove my own exchange calculations. The lady stopped me from talking to other customers saying that I should not interrupt their business. I told the lady that it was a public area that I had the right to speak to anyone
- I spoke to 2 customers who proved me right
- Then that lady insisted that it was me who didn't understand but because I was not happy, she was going to reverse the transaction and give me back the GBP. The man sitting next to the lady said that I was not going to get a better exchange rate anywhere else and will regret. Apparently, he was still trying to confuse me.
- After waiting for 20 minutes, the lady reversed the transaction and returned GBP200 to me.
* In my transaction, I did not see the conversion of GBP to EUR on the screen while for some of the other customers, they could see such FX conversion on screen. In light of this, I suspect that there was a way in the system that the lady could by-pass some steps and override ! My speculation was supported by fact that the lady picked up a calculator to do some calculations. These days with a computer/system, why would she need to use a calculator ?
Note: The initial invoice I received showed that I pay GBP200, at an exchange rate 1.1396, the exchange value of EUR was 175.49. I believe the lady overrode this number - instead of using GBP200 x 1.1396, she used GBP200 /1.1396. Well, for people who don't have a clear mind especially after a long flight, they would believe everything is alright in such situation but regret when they have already left the airport...
Hm....The company permits an override so that their staff can manipulate ? Really ? Based on other feedback, such things didn't only happen in Paris but 'global', like the name of the company.
If the company responded to this feedback and asked me for an email for contacting the staff at 2E of CDG, there is no point as it was the staff at 2E who did it intentionally. It was not a careless mistake or so.
