GoEast has such a friendly, supportive and motivating culture. I studied from HSK1 to the start of HSK4. The group classes were great, very supportive and great actual practice that mimics the real word. There is quite a lot of work to do before and after the classes, but I guess that explains the quick progress I made. I went of a few trips which were well organised, fun, inclusive and a great cultural experience. I have honestly made friends for life from this school. I literally could not recommend enough. I began taking online classes with GoEast during the pandemic, and from the very start, the experience has been exceptional. The flexibility of their program is another major strength worth highlighting.

A month in China learning Mandarin. I had slowly been learning Mandarin for a few years in the UK but was looking for an opportunity for more concentrated classroom learning in a more immersive environment. GoEast had been recommended to me and I was soon in contact with a Language Consultant and was warmly welcomed by video call. I explained that I wanted to take the GoEast HSK4 equivalent course with 1:1 lessons for 4 hours a day, 4 days a week for 4 weeks. This is so I had more time at weekends to go travelling too. Despite my very specific requirements GoEast would be able to fully accommodate this by assigning me two teachers on alternating days which was great. A learning schedule proposal was sent to me and I chose to take a trial lesson. I really enjoyed the trial lesson and found it was pitched right at my level so signed up for the rest of the classes.

Before I arrived there was guidance offered with arranging visa and accommodation. I already had these sorted and had been to China before so didn't need too much help but knew it was there with a quick response. I also took a few online classes in the UK to familiarise with the GoEast course. This worked really well, there was good flexibility in arranging the time and it was with one of the teachers who was going to teach me in Shanghai.

When I arrived (Xuhui Campus) I had a friendly welcome. I like open plan but cosy office/waiting area at the campus as it has a more inclusive feel and gives an opportunity to chat. Lunchtime was between my classes so I was also always welcome to come and eat my lunch with the staff too which was nice. I was even treated to a milk tea when there was a group order put in :)

The classes themselves were excellent and everything I was hoping for. Both my teachers were qualified and professional and always made it fun. The GoEast HSK4 equivalent course I was following took a more practical approach than the more formal textbook style id been learning before. This helped me to make great progress with my speaking and listening and really expand vocabulary.
The online resources were also very useful to help me review and prepare and I liked that this was included in my learning package. A couple of times I had to adjust my schedule around travel plans and this was accommodated well.

Overall I liked the slightly smaller more personal feel to GoEast. This is what stood out to me when originally researching and comparing against larger companies with multi city schools and my experience definitely met this expectation. Everyone was super friendly, flexible to my schedule, I was made to feel like I belonged there and I would really like to go back. Highly Recommend!

I have completed two online group courses (a little under 1 year) and have purchased a third. I enjoy the classes, the teachers and the language consultants. Everyone is very responsive and attentive to any difficulties or scheduling issues. The teachers are friendly and I have nothing but good things to say about each of them.

The classes can be expensive compared to some other alternatives, but I think it is worth it due to the classes materials, structure, and support provided.

I would happily recommend GoEast to anyone that would ask.

Our online class teacher Lilia is very helpful and enthusiastic about teaching! The course material is very organized with attention to vocabulary, grammar, and real life examples. There are fun games to review vocabulary. The vocabulary is structured to cover the HSK word lists. I highly recommend GoEast to anyone interested in learning Mandarin!

I'm on the first quarter and so far the experience have been great. The pacing feels good with new material every week. The fact that we get to speak a lot in every class is also great practice as we get more comfortable with the language. I would greatly recommend GoEast as a go to to learn Chinese from home.

It's very fruitful tbh, slightly pricey but it is worth it . the class are well managed as well as the student portal . My teacher Teresa and Hannah were both great , very supportive. And Maria made sure to guide me along in the process. I really do enjoy it

My experience with GoEast as a first-time learner has been phenomenal. For context, I receive one-on-one lessons twice a week via Zoom. Maria has always gone above and beyond to make sure everything is going smoothly with my learning. My teacher, Hannah, is incredibly supportive and engaging, and a very talented teacher with a lot of experience teaching westerners. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend GoEast to anyone looking to learn Mandarin or improve their skills.

From the moment I contacted GoEast my experience has been a consistently positive one. Maria always responds super promptly and kindly to all questions. I’ve been having one-on-one classes which proved incredibly helpful to me as a first time learner of Mandarin. Annie, my instructor, is exceptional at creating an interactive and engaging learning experience and has been so generously flexible in working around schedule conflicts. GoEast is a great place to learn Chinese!
I arrived in Shanghai 2 months ago and wanted to start learning Chinese right away.
I contacted GoEast and they assigned me a support person, Yanyan, who helped me find the right course suitable for me.
Yanyan is the nicest person ever and even helped me to find a gym nearby since I was helpless, being fresh of the boat.
I started the beginners course with Teacher Bella and it's lots of fun.
GoEast also organizes events regularly to interact with other students and locals!

I was recommended GoEast from a work colleague as a way to begin to learn Chinese during my visit to Shanghai. Not only was GoEast a great place to go as someone new to China but being able to continue my lessons online has led to me having a great learning experience for almost 2 years now! The teachers and administrators are all very nice, and very flexible to their students needs. I would recommend GoEast to anyone in or out of China who is looking for a great learning experience that is personalized for you at a good price too!

I've been taking 1-on-1 Mandarin classes for a little over 6 months. I think GoEast Mandarin has a well-structured curriculum, fantastic teachers and a very friendly staff. My teacher goes above and beyond to make sure I understand the material and can confidently use it when interacting with locals in day-to-day life.

Altogether, I can definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in learning Mandarin while living in China. Thanks GoEast!

Currently a student at GoEast and my experience has been nothing but great!

Before and after arrival Yanyan really helped with all processes especially the visa process for me coming from Australia.

Along the way if there’s anything I’ve needed I know I can as the staff as everyone has been extremely helpful during my 6 months in Shanghai!

I started HSK 2 level 2 months ago at GoEast. My teacher,Wendy, taught me with all the useful expression and wrote me notes that I wasn’t sure about or got wrong. Online supplementary grammar and video lessons made me understand easier and actors on video are real teachers at GoEast! I will continue learning Chinese definitely here @GE.

I am very satisfied with the classes, in my case business chinese 1 to 1. The contents prepared by the teacher are personalised, and the topics relevant. I feel like learning a lot everytime I go. Moreover, the school location is great, and everyone at the school wants to make sure you are happy with your experience, they care a lot. I would totally reccomend it, already did!
