Left school group stranded at airport
If I could give this coach company 0 stars, I would.
They left a school group of 20 ten-year-old children stranded at Gatwick Airport because they simply forgot about the booking. This wasn't a last-minute change or a misunderstanding on our part — the booking had been confirmed, and we had been assured that the flight would be tracked to ensure a timely pickup.
Unfortunately, the exact opposite happened.
After landing, our group was left waiting at the airport with no coach in sight and no clear communication from the company. We had 20 tired children who had just returned from a trip, and the responsibility fell entirely on the teachers to manage the situation. As a result of the delay, staff had to spend £150 of their own money to buy food for the children because they would no longer be home in time for dinner.
What makes this even worse is that when we approached Goldline to request reimbursement for these unavoidable costs, we were ignored. No accountability, no apology, and no effort to put things right.
For a company trusted with transporting children, this level of incompetence is completely unacceptable. Forgetting a school booking is not a minor mistake—it is a serious safeguarding and operational failure.
An utterly embarrassing experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise schools, parents, and anyone organising group travel to look elsewhere. Reliability and communication are essential in this industry, and unfortunately Goldline demonstrated neither.
