Woodbury store, Woodbury MN

Tried returning a teapot that was smashed under the taped down lid. Was told with a smirk that they do not offer refunds under ANY circumstances. Yes, this is the only business that offers no refunds at all, that I know of. They have NO DRESSING ROOMS, they will accept a return for an exchange only, and that within two weeks. They pay no taxes on the profits they make from donations of used goods either. The managers are dedicated to this kind of abuse, many of the employees are abusive and unhappy in my experience. The tone of the store is generally sullen. I myself in many years of shopping at "Goodwill", have only once seen someone disabled on the floor in training, and that was in Wisconsin. How did we get here? How can they continue this way unchallenged?
A separate issue is the quality of merch. At this particular store, I saw a used poly pantsuit for $79.99, and some poly pants for $49.99. The racks are crammed with dusty polyester and rayon, and it's a days' work to cull through that smelly stuff to find a quality item. I won't go there any longer.
One workaround for a return at a "Goodwill" is to find any lightweight, easy to carry item of the exact equal price, return your item and give yourself another two weeks to find something. Then go to another store until this "non-profit" changes its tune for good.

Goodwill in Beckley West Virginia I'm…

Goodwill in Beckley West Virginia I'm glad to have bathrooms. There was a men's bathroom and a women's bathroom. Now the sign is either and or. And men are women can go into both stalls. For a while they had both out of order. At least they're open back up now as of today I see was open. But the toilet paper in the bathroom you have to turn a knob to get a little bit of toilet paper out a little by little turning off. That is just very irritating. The bathroom the toilet paper is really really bad thing. I've never seen toilet paper so hard to try to get out of the holder. That's just absolutely disgusting.

Don’t bother asking about a pickup

I have a queen size upholstered headboard to donate. I called GW in Milford and they referred me to a website saying that a 3rd party company does pickups. When I went to that site?? THEY WANTED $125 to pick it up?? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS??? Seriously??

Overpriced and rude

On July 10, I went to Goodwill on Shiloh in Garland Texas. Everything was so crammed together. You couldn’t even look through it in the prices are ridiculous. 899 for like a plain T-shirt no design no nothing. The prices are outrageous and when you try to drop off if they don’t feel like taking it they just tell you to go somewhere else they’re full, but I didn’t see anything on the patio, they were very rude

Ultimately, Corporate Greed

I doubt that corporate will care about what I write. I have been donating/shopping at Goodwill for decades. Not any more! Their prices are ridiculously high and everything is GIVEN to them! Goodwill stands behind this deception as helping people with disabilities earn a living. Goodwill ought to be ashamed of themselves!

Bad Will. …

Now charging for picking up donated items. This is not a charity; it’s another scam to optimize profit.

Boycott. Don’t give and don’t buy.

The Manager. Heavy set bald man. Wouldn't sell me the $2.00 items I found!!!

I went to the Goodwill at Main Street and Signal Butte. I was there for two hours, buying a lot. I just lost everything in a house fire. I was fortunate and found a lot of yellow tag items I am needed. At 8pm the manager. A very large man, bald. Told me I needed to hurry up. And then stood there staring at me. I asked him how much I had, he said 45 minutes. Then he finally left. With in 10 minutes he was back hurrying me. Then started looking thru my items. He stated there are a lot of yellow tags here. I stated I am very lucky. I really need these pants and shirts. He stated and me. Then left. I was trying to hurry. In another 15 minutes about 8:30 pm. He told me, I had to go to the check register, That I had to much stuff and needed to check out now. So, I did what I was told. There were a lot of customers in there looking around and still shopping. Other customers had there carts full as well. But this man did not harass any other customer but me. I put my items on the counter. The casher stated ringing me up. He came up and just stood there. The register that I was at was the only one open. He did not open a register to check any customers out. He just stood there. He told me, you know we close at 9pm. I said I am sorry. I have to walk and really need these cloths. I am grateful I found them. As the cashier was getting down with each bundle of cloths I put more up. The cashier stated stacking the cloths she had already run up, closer to the ones that were not. I noticed she had rang up one twice. I told her that. She got mad. The man was still there. I told the cashier, it's fine. I will pay the extra. I know he wants to get off work. She stopped ringing my items up. And just stood there with him Staring at me. People were gathering to check out. A long line of forming. I told the cashier, please finishing ringing my purchases up. Then the man stated you do not have to be rude. I told him, I simple said to please continue with my items. He then said, we will just put all these items back. He was very upset that I actually found many yellow tags. And would not sell them to me because of this. I left after I had spent over two hours, Total, looking for the cloths the fire took from me. I still have no cloths. And they were so mean and rude, I left crying. I you wish to take advantage of there special pricing DO NOT GO TO THIS GOODWILL. THEY WILL MAKE YOU FEEL HORRIBLE AND IN THE END WILL NOT SELL YOU THE ITEMS THAT ARE THE $2.00 Special. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS MAN. HE HAD NO RIGHT MAKING ME FEEL SO BAD. OR KEEPING THE ITEMS I FOUND TO PURCHASE. !!!!

Horrible company

Horrible company. Employees and managers are taking all valueble stuff, rest is going on the shelves. So overpriced, you can find for less in actual stores. Old Navy, Gap, Shein and rest- priced more than in these companies. Managers are looking at you like on the dirt, you want to take a bath with bleach after their look. Especially, in 965 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02135. Stopped going there. Kenza, store manager, is making an experience of shopping unbearable.

Goodwill Scam

This organization as a whole can not be trusted. Right down to the employees. Use to shop in stores for years and that went to hell. Tried online which I never thought was a worse experience. No accountability across the board. More lost items, electronics that don't work, or their fall too is abandoned. You are actually better shopping with ebay where as a buyer you are covered in the event of fraud which seems to be common place with this organization. Just look at their Better Business Report where there is 10% resolved issues out of 100%. That pretty much says it all. What is abandoned is any morals anyone must have to work for this place. "Putting people to work" on the backs of others. That should be their moto. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet. Again, as a buyer you are better off using ebay where at least there is buyer protection.

Trick mirrors in fitting rooms!

I like going to Goodwill BUT I don't like the trick mirrors in all their fitting rooms which makes things look better when you're trying them on in the store, then when you get home and put it on, it doesn't look as good in a normal mirror. If that's not bad enough, here's the kicker, a lot of stores are no longer allowing you to return clothing. None of that should be allowed! It's basically robbing people.

Read this if you want to shop or donate to Goodwill

If you want to donate your clothing etc, find somewhere else to do it please. Goodwill is a for profit business that gets free merchandise and then hikes up the price to ridiculous prices. Yes they give people with records jobs and people with disabilities. But why shouldn't they anyway! And don't round up at the register. You're already giving them way too much money! It's a perfect business model. Open a store, call it "Goodwill", have people give you free items feeling they are doing something good and then resell it for a profit. Sure maybe some people that are shopping there are resellers, which is why prices are hiked. But, your average reseller is not getting rich. AND youre getting it free! Otherwise its people that cant afford these prices. It used to be if you couldn't afford store prices you'd go to a thrift store. Now they arent that far off for used items. If the prices were fair I would not be writing this.

Goodwill auctions

Goodwill auctions

Goodwill auctions appear rigged.

This is a short summary. In 9 seconds a fellow bidder was able to determine my actual highest offer (which was not shown) and bid 10 cents higher. An impossible feat unless they had a way to know what my actual high offer was (like from someone at Goodwill).

For Profit!

Snopes, urged people not to donate to several organizations including Goodwill, stating, "CEO and owner Mark Curran profits $2.3 million a year. I'm urging people not to buy from Goodwill!
I visited my Goodwill Neighborhood Store Today. The price on a few small statures was listed $12.99 EACH, and Three-Dollar Tree Candle Holders were $3.99 Each. I learned from the Manager,
The person hired for that job looks at the object and determines how much she/he thinks it's worth. The reflection on the pricing at the Conway store is more for profit than Charity! Who is pricing the items at your neighborhood GoodWill store?

Goodwill sucks you guys don’t know how to treat people if you treat your customers like crap your bathrooms always stink and you raise the prices to where we can’t even afford it. A lot of us come to the Goodwill because we’re on a budget and you took all the dressing rooms out. You expect us to try clothes on at home and come all the way back to your storage or return them at our cost of gas that’s not cool it’s not cool at all it’s getting to the point where I don’t even wanna go to any goodwill ever again because you guys are horrible as far as prices as far as workers, and as far as Hygiene

My daughter was in a abusive relationship and left one night with nothing. She went into her local Goodwill and told them her situation that she had no clothing. They gave her 1 shirt, 1 pair of pants and a pair of shoes. I know people give to them to help others in need, but Goodwill has lost that perspective. Will never step foot in another one.
