Absolute Garbage!

I used to use Gumtree, with limited success a few years ago.

I recently uploaded an add for collection, but it will not show up in my ads.

Tried listing the item several times over the last 2 weeks and the same outcome, so no point in anyone thinking I might need to wait for the add to show as it would have done so by now!

A pathetic website that doesn't allow us to change an email address that has been compromised.
A site whose rules vary from person to person.
A confusing website that says we sell a nest box goes against their rules.
A website that instead of making people's lives easier does everything that is possible to give us a hard time.

I’ve no idea why people waste time with Gumtree. It’s nigh on impossible to get a response from sellers.
Either the items don’t exist, the sellers ignore messages or don’t even receive the messages in the first place.
Gumtree either needs to get their act together or ditch the idea.
Fleecebay might have rip-off fees but at least you get responses from sellers 99.9% of the time.

Within minutes of opening an account and posting items I received an offer. Very quickly I realised the offer was an attempted fraud. Four days later having immediately told gumtree I have had no feedback from gumtree at all. A waste of time.

You never get a reply!!
Not even a polite "sorry it's already been sold"
It's a terrible platform.
And then there's the scammers!
Totally unsafe market place!!!

I have had a few weirdos message me on Gumtree when I’ve had items up for sale. Can’t even give stuff away on there now. And when you do add items for free. You get people messaging to ask if you will drop it off for them, really?? Not sure it’s as popular anymore. There are much better places to sell used items now.

Gumtree Uk ... Worse than ever not working properly lots of errors and glitching all the time. It’s been going for a while few months now . Their updated version is cheap similar to Facebook Marketplace which is awful, dissatisfied for a lot of other people that are users who use it on regular basis. Saddest thing Not sure if this site will gonna survive for much longer. (Shame that was great market 2 years ago)

After identifying a scammer using gumtree and bringing it to the attention of customer service, they did absolutely nothing.
I wonder if scamming emails are be sent by members of the gumtree staff?
When emails are generated by gumtree advertisers must come to one conclusion GUMTREE are the scammers, advertisers be very careful as nothing good comes from this site.

once again the MUPPETS AT GUMTREE . WON'T ALLOW ME TO PLACE A ADVERT LISTING ON GUMTREE. ITS SAYS ..IN RED BOLD FONT ....... Your advert description cannot contain website links, please use the Website Link field instead.....THERE IS NO LINK. it merely says this is a lap top & NOT a link or app why do muppets & algorisms' rule gumtree. no wonder they are haemorrhaging sellers & users. mother of god... so after over a 1 hour i,ll have to start again and remove the words . this is not a mobile phone link or app. which i have done 3 times already. if that wont work .tomorrow i will give another 1 star rating..

This site is swarming with scammers posting items for sale and then praying on trusting individuals and stealing their hard earned money.
It doesn’t matter how well they come across on their messages, no broken English, polite and well mannered….i was still scammed and I am very upset about it. This is the second time this has happened to me on this site, once almost 10 years ago and I thought it could never happen again as I’m a little older and wiser….nope, happened again because this site is an infested pit of vile scammers.
My account will be closed for good once I have taken all relevant action on the person involved. Please do not put yourself at risk buying on here….its the worst selling and buying site in the UK!

Im a breeder and its first time Im using this website to sell my kittens and probably last. I paid for the ads quite a bit, listed them few times in hope and all I got was time wasters and some kind of bots sending me message 'is this still available' and not writing anything else! And on top of that I got harassed by someone and gumtree did nothing about that.

Awful third rate platform and every single communication you have is with either a scammer, a bot or someone that doesn’t respond or turn up - total waste of online space occupied solely by bottom feeding wasters

Your web page is shocking!!!!!!!!
It’s glitchy,slow and unusable.
I agree with all your other customers,BRING THE OLD WEBSITE BACK.
Your losing a lot of customers with this new web site, it’s so poor.
Listen to your customers.
I wouldn’t recommend this site to others , look at the 1 star feedback and improve from there.
It’s just frustrating as gumtree was a good site for me.NOT ANYMORE.

Put a pet ad on that they immediately took down claiming it was against their rules. Apparently I'm linked to another account that has put 2 pet ads on this year. They charged me £29.99 to NOT put my ad on! Crazy, and there's nothing I can do about it. I'll never use them again and nor should anyone else because they will absolutely rip you off.

An awful app to use. Photos appear in wrong order. Unable to view messages. I had an email enquiring about my item. Clicked on it to reply and gumtree doesn't take me to the message. At the top of the screen there is a green circle on messages but no message appears . Gumtree used to be good and easy to use now it's a disaster . Needless to say I won't be able to sell my item if I can't view the messages and the potential buyer would think I'm ignoring them too. Complete waste of time.

the most bad houses with bad conditions one .....hit room cost more then 2 bedroom flat even there does not have nice flats and they took too much money for nothing I can understand if this will be some apartment or residention but too much price for ....hit houses or flat without conditions for some humanity pp flats cost more then anything first conditions then pay as I have seen is not worthy of prices they put on perdon

Paid £75 for an advert feature, immediately removed my advert.
I complained & eventually it was displayed.
I change my price & add some pictures, they then remove the advert again.
What a flawed selling site. DONT USE IT.

Updated/edited ads with different photos and showing correct photo on My Gumtree part of app but showing different one on website and search result of my ads on the app. Bloody useless. Buyers seeing wrong cover photo which defeats the purpose of choosing the right photo for people to see. Also updated/edited price change not showing on Google search. Ad showing old price despite changing on app days ago.

Also people are much more moronic and rude than in the past but that's a different matter altogether and obviously not an issue with Gumtee but the UK! This country really is full of tools.
