Took payment of £9.99 for a pedigree kitten. Approved the advert then removed my advert instantly with no contact I contacted them and they are saying they dont allow my health tested pedigree breed then refuse to refund me and blocked me on live chat

Terrible terrible service. I put an ad in 3 times and 3 time it was removed without any reason or explanation as to why. It was for a burgman 125cc and uploaded photos for show. They said an email would be sent to me explaining the reason but nothing was sent. It would make sense if I just banged my head against a brick wall because I would understand why I did it. Even trying to get through to them on live chat is impossible because it’s an automated service. How is that called live chat. Absolutely shocking.

Gumtree tells me ad is in however they took £5 to place it urgent but it’s not even in the site ….poor show wing use again has NaN and a spinning wheel

Used this site with no problem until this week . Cannot get any stat details. Each of my ads have NaN at the side of them and this has gone on for four days now. I have tried uninstalling and re installing but it’s still the same. If it isn’t sorted in next couple of days I may as well close the whole thing and go elsewhere.

GOT SCAMMED OUT OF £35 BY A CON MAN . HAD TO CLAIM MONEY BACK FROM FRAUD TEAM WITH MY BANK. COSTOMER SERVICE AT GUMTREE WAS APPALLING , DIDNT WANT TO KNOW . I REPORTED THE SCAM AND STILL HAVENT HAD A REPLY 1 WEEK ON. DELEATED MY ACCOUNT AND WILL NEVER USE AGAIN

Didn’t think it could be worse than Ebay but it is. Thieves is the only word to describe this company. Took my money for promoting my ad, and didn’t even post my ad. Been through numerous hoops to find out why they removed my ad, but all I get told is it broke policy yet there is no obvious reason for this after reading the policy multiple times. As part of this they are also refusing to refund me. Would avoid at all costs. Who knows if they’ll let you post. One thing for sure is they’ll happily take your money.

It's very Dissapointing, Gumtree never seems to work properly!
I've used it for 11 years, I had to delete my account, lose all my 5 star reviews and hundreds of ads simply because its not user friendly.
I've set up again but since their planned maintenance its 100 times worse!
You're going to lose all the people that use it if you don't sort out all the issues, can't see how many people are viewing the ads, can't amend the user email, it means starting afresh, so many issues!

I like Gumtree. I think a lot of folks writing bad reviews are not bothering to become familiar with the site. Yes, it has limitations compared to other sites you pay for, and does tweak search algorithms etc a bit too often. It is at the mercy of sellers responding to ads they placed and forgot about!
Overall it is free and helpful. If you used a pay option to advertise, you may have a point, but vote with your feet and go elsewhere.

Problems sending messages get through intermittently. Messages still showing unread after opening and reading them . Even tried delaying and reloading app. No joy and emailed customer support .. No response. Used to be a good site

Thursday 29th and still have not got the website fully working!!
Click on "Profile" does not work.

There is no customer service.

Posted an advert, paid to promote it - then my account was locked as a suspected security breach on my account, so changed password logged back in and advert was taken down.

Reposted and it does the same, my account is locked and have to reset password.

Can’t get a response on refund. They have since taken my advert down once again and with no reason.

Pay the money, use eBay.

Make sure you pay for any services via PayPal or similar as I got a refund via them 👍🏻

I was ripped off by a seller on gumtree i reported it to gumtree but they made no action against the seller he is still doing the same today

Worst AD site for massage and they are thief, took your money and remove your AD, no refund, just using excuse you violate their T & C. Consumer council UK should get involved to suit them.

Posted an add warning buyers to avoid listed item that was a blatant scam. Only for it to be removed.

Posted an ad and had 4 responses within a day; ALL OF THEM WERE SCAMMERS.

Not worth the effort

Placed ad paid for listing and 20 min later got email saying it broke guidelines. Never got answer no help and like so many others have lost my money to gumtree. Not a very pleasent experience. They used to be very good.

Gumtree = bunch of cretins and halfwits who have no idea how to run a buying and selling company . They remove ads without telling advertisers why , their faq explains nothing and they also say they will send an email explaining why an ad is removed but never do. Imbecilic useless company that is past it`s sell buy date.

What a set of pratts!
I tried to place an ad for food intolerance testing on two occasions, as I am a qualified nutritionist.
Gumtree removed my ad, and the only information I could obtain was a message reading that the ad violated their policies, which is rubbish!
The message also read that they would email me with the reasons they had removed the ad.
What a set of liars, they never emailed me at all.
Gumtree needs closing down.
