This is as bad as it gets

This is as bad as it gets. The worst meal out I’ve had in years. The restaurant was dead. Kids were clearly running the place with no idea how to run a restaurant. The starters were barely edible. We sent all the mains back and asked for a refund. How has Gusto gotten this bad? It used to be good!

Poor service gusto heswall

We went to gusto heswall. The waitress who served us was not good at all. I asked for an egg with my burger. She said we don’t do them and walked off. I asked to add gusto points after we had paid and she said I was too
Late and walked off again. It was the opposite of nothing is too much trouble. Everything was too much trouble.

Do not understand the reviews

Do not understand the reviews, we had a great meal on Sat, food was amazing. really enjoyed it. We all had sheered scallops, and we each had different meals... nice feel to the place

Amazed they are still in business

Amazed they are still in business. Telephoned 3 times to book a table for 9 people and no answer. Booked online and no reply. This is the Didsbury restaurant. Assumed the manager wants them to close.

GUSTO OXFORD - DIS'GUSTO'ING !!!

GUSTO - OXFORD - do not go there !!
Visited last night with friends for special dinner
We ordered drinks, NO PROSECCO "- They'd had a big party the night before, their excuse..so why did they not go shopping to re-stock for next day !?
The waitress suggested a Ferrari Brut which was £2 more, for same price but barman refused, then came to table to justify refusal, but all of a sudden a glass appeared, he changed his mind, and after all that it was flat and horrible, obviously from a long opened bottle.

The Crab Fettucini was cold, with hot bit in middle, one dreads to think how that was heated, with a small smear of crap pate on the top, and tiny portion.

We were put on a wobbly table, with chairs in the aisle, The waitress was sweet, but not able to cope in a "Complaints" scenario, we asked her to feed back re the food, but no senior management came out.....

We have so many lovely restaurants in Oxford, so don't need to facilitate this one again.....whole experience was awful and then they wanted to charge us £10.61 service...disgusting...!!

Expensive Hunger at Gusto

I'll start this review with the bottom line. Will be giving Gusto, across the board, a very wide berth after the experience at The Liverpool Albert Dock venue. If you want sustainance from food then stay away from this place.
Have used this venue for many years and never disappointed, apart from the wine prices, but this visit taught us a lesson we've all now learned.

Three of us visited on 7th December for a meal before a concert at the Liverpool Arena. The service and staff were, as always, excellent. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately, the amount, from starter to main meal wouldn't have satisfied a small child who had been pre-loaded and bloated up with sweeties and chocolate.

Virtually no sign of vegetables and the potatoes were akin to the tiny grape sized ones that are normally thrown into the pig farm bins. Tiny portion was an understatement. We had to order extra veg and some fries during the meal in order to bulk it up and gain some energy for the night ahead... All at extra cost, of course.

As for the prices... The only word I can use is astronomical. Gross profiteering, especially on the wine, whilst starving customers is not something one wants when the idea of a meal is to sustain the body.

I would suggest, if people want to pretend they're on some kind of TV food tasting show, have money to burn and eat out to feed their egos then Gusto Albert Dock is the place for them. If your intention is to eat to survive then pick somewhere that isn't having a laugh and filling it's coffers at your expense.

My final note, which is something that really annoys is this habit Gusto has of making a service charge without asking and assuming you actually want to tip for a bad experience. Gusto Albert Dock don't use this one but do take money for charity without asking by adding it to your bill. No matter it's a small amount here... it's the principle of taking without asking that will only serve to increase as people just brush it off. We choose the charities we donate to... We do not like being robbed and the thief call it a donation.

Goodbye Gusto until you've fixed yourself.

Don’t waste your money

Visited Gusto restaurant in Newcastle for my birthday and it was utterly disappointing. The seats were ripped, we moved table and the seats were all ripped on those as well. The table was horrendously sticky, my bag actually stuck to the table top, our server said it was the wash that they use?! Our drinks order was wrong, twice and the food was dry and over cooked- how you get lasagne wrong in an Italian restaurant is a head scratch!

Very Poor food at rip off prices

Visited gusto I Cheadle hulme with my family and have to say the food was not great, my husband had the duck ( 3 slices with a dollop of mash + gravy + one piece of green veg) £21.95 for very small portions. I had a small king prawn bucatatini almost £10. ( 3 prawns ) the pasta was so sweet and was very poor. The warm rosemary focaccia was burnt around the edges, I could go on Our bill was £148 for poor quality food no wine only 3 small beers and we all went Home hungry, needles to say I asked the waiter to remove the service charge ( over £16 ) and he looked extremely annoyed. I will never be re visiting a gusto again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

10/10 - Impressed

Visited the restaurant on George Street, Edinburgh to celebrate our son's special birthday.
The surroundings and décor were lovely.
With a carnivore, vegetarian and vegan in the party we all had so much choice and were all very impressed with the service, drinks and food.
Our son was even given a special treat for his birthday on the house.
Would definitely recommend.
