I am booking a trip to Jasper, Canada, and live in the U.S., so I am not familiar with the hotels in Canada. I thought I was booking a room directly on the hotel's website, as when you google the hotel name, the first website that comes up is the name of the hotel, with the word 'hotel' in the middle. I booked a room on the site for 2 nights, and not until I received my email confirmation did things look off. There was verbiage that stated that the actual hotel may charge additional fees when I check in, such as taxes (normally taxes are paid when you book a hotel reservation). I then called the hotel to confirm my reservation, and they did not have it. They suggested that I wait a few hours for the reservation to come through, since apparently it was a 3rd party booking, in this case. I called the hotel the following day, and they still do not have my reservation. They also do not have any of the room type I booked available on the nights I booked. The hotel also gave me what their rate is for the type of room I booked, and they charge 1/2 of what Hotel-Rez charged me. Again, I was unaware that I was booking with a 3rd party, as they make their website appear to be that of the actual hotel. I just thought that was the going rate because it's a very attractive tourist area.

I then called the phone # from the Hotel-Rez email confirmation, and when I told them the hotel does not have my reservation nor do they have that room available the nights I will be in town, they refused to cancel my 'booking', as it was non-refundable, and asked that I give them time to work it out with the hotel. I told them I do not have time to hope they can work this issue out with the hotel, as I have a trip and flights to book. They did not care. My next call was to my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Warning Don't use H-Rez.com

I googled a hotel I have stayed before and it came up on H-re.com. looking quite ligit with all the correct information and photo's of the hotel. I booked the hotel but the reservation never got completed because it kept telling me tick the cancellation policy box (which I already did) which includes agreeing to terms and conditions and privacy. When you want to view the TC and Privacy it shows nothing. I ticked the box anway since I was told I had free cancellation. I repeatedly tried to submit my reservation without success and no confirmation. I also tried using a different credit card, also no success. When I checked my bank account - I had 2 separate charges from H.rez.com each for the amount of my reservation. Also on the 2nd credit card - charged twice but those were refunded. I called the helpdesk who repeatedly wanted to book the room for me over the phone even when I told her several times I don't want to make a new booking I want them te resolve my creditcard charges made without giving me a reservation. I was told I was responsible for repeatedly submitting my reservation - How they can use my credit card details to charge without confirming my reservation!! this company is a definite NO-GO!! Be warned. I'm hoping they will now refund my money in "so many business days" as they told me they would.

Wrong email, hotel and price - Avoid!!

I didn't realise the website I had chosen wasn't the actual hotel's website so called the H-rez phone number as I was told we got a company discount by a colleague. I called H-rez who gave me a price even cheaper than what my colleague had said! I paid then waited 6 hours for an email confirmation....I called up and realised they had written the wrong email address (despite spelling it back to me) then the confirmation came through and things went from bad to worse. The original price he told me which INCLUDED taxes and charges DID NOT ACTUALLY INCLUDE taxes and charges so I have been charged 30USD on top of what he told me the price was. Then I noticed that IT WAS THE WRONG HOTEL..needless to say I asked for a full refund because the 10% discount to fix all of them problems was a joke. Hopefully the refund actually comes through....don't even bother with this company!!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, H-REZ.COM / HOTEL-REZ.COM

This company also runs as hotel-rez.com, and getaroom.com and charges your card as CCi*hotel Hotelrez
They are also part of getaroom.com
it is a US based hotel room booking website that is absolutely disgustiung.
They sold me a room at a Hotel in Cebu for my partner and friend for 2 nights following the cat 5 typhoon, it was from 19th december until 21 december 2021.
When my partner and friend arrived there the hotel was fully booked and no rooms available.
i contacted hotel-rez.com and told them my partner and friend was now on the street all they could say there is nothing they can do and they said i couldnt cancel the room and the money was non refundable.
My partner and friend spent the night literally sleeping on the city street outside some stores it is very dangerous at night there.
The next day i contacted my creditcard company to tell them to get the money back from hotel-rez as they sold me a non existant room. I then found that hotel-rez.com has charged my credit card 5 times for the same booking.
all 5 bills have now been suspended by my credit card company and i have also informed hotel-rez.com that i have had them suspended and i am taking it up with my solicicitors as they are fraudulenty charging my card 5 times and also fraudulently sold me a non existing room.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
