This would be by far too long a review to explain in full so here are the highlights
1. Stephen first tried to get my house on the market with HH when I was viewing another house he was listing. He had no intention of trying to sell me the house I was viewing
2. He blatantly told me he could get a HR with a higher value on it than the one I had already paid for
3. He made me an offer that if he didn't sell my house for more than £500k I wouldn't have to pay a penny
4. He marked my house under offer and removed from the market when the potential buyer had not even listed their house
5. Various "excuses/reasons/blaming of the buyer" why their house wasn't going under offer
6. Constant storytelling that moving dates would be in place.
7. Eventually the buyer pulled out direct to their solicitor (not communicating to HH - which probably also speaks for itself)
8. New listing - new stories
9. After roughly 9 months, I decided to go back to the original agent I had planned to use. The ones that tailor make moving
10. When communicating that to Stephen, tone of messages changed.
11. As I had not signed a contract and Stephen had said to me, there would be nothing to pay, if he didn't sell my house for over £500k I did not pay the invoice they were charging me.
12. Various rude and threating messages received, his nose was obviously out of place as I'd managed to get another agent to list without him "releasing the HR"
13. He refused to remove their listing from Rightmove and reduced the price on my listing without my consent. I had to speak to their legal team, prove I owned the house and confirm I did not authorise HH to have it listed
14. After TMM sold my property. HH marked on Rightmove that they sold the property, fudging their sales figures
15. I was then forced to pay the invoice after he lodged a claim with the court. Something which I very strongly wanted to fight, but was not able due to potential impact on my job in financial services

The long and short is, if it sounds too good to be true and it was told to you by Hamish Homes, it definitely is!!

I would never use their services to sell a house again and I definitely wouldn't view one being listed by them either

Even before we made direct contact about properties we were interested in viewing, we were very impressed by the Hamish Homes listings on Rightmove, the high quality videos, photographs and detailed descriptions were so informative and really make a fantastic good first impression. Speaking to Stephen Jr about specific properties and arranging the viewings was just as positive. Stephen took time to speak to us about the properties before going to view, as we were travelling almost 200miles to view them. He was very professional and very pleasant in person as well. A couple of questions we had were answered extremely quickly and we were delighted to make an offer on a fantastic property.
All our dealings with Hamish Homes have been excellent and we are happy to recommend them. We have no intention of moving on from this dream forever home, but should we be in that position we would not hesitate to use them.

Our initial experience with HH was great when buying a house. Kellie couldn't have been more helpful. We had an offer accepted on a great house and everything was apparently great. We hadn't sold our house but had a private buyer very interested.
However, when the buyer for our house pulled out and I told Kellie. I told her we had another estate agent lined up to get our house on the market within 2 days and then she phoned me and said (apparently after discussion with her boss Stephen) that unless we sold our home with them, that our accepted offer was no longer valid and effectively tried to blackmail us into selling our house with them.
I have no proof of this, but I'm convinced the seller knew nothing about this and they assumed we'd just put another offer in once we sold ours. That decision has cost their client tens of thousands after the property was reduced in price and id strongly urge anyone buying or selling to give them a wide berth.
Ask people about them before you decide. They'll promise you the highest amount, but then reduce your asking price which means they then get a higher commission.

Kellie at Hamish Homes has been absolutely fantastic.

We were fatigued after fighting in the current market when trying to secure our forever home following the sale of our first home, but we came into contact with Kellie when viewing one of her properties.

We saw she had another property becoming available that suited our needs and ticked all of the forever home boxes. We explained our situation to Kellie and she went well and truly over and above to ensure we got to view the property quickly as we we couldn't make the viewings scheduled for the following week due to work commitments.

We offered at the viewing and had the offer accepted an hour later.

We are absolutely overjoyed and cannot thank Kellie enough for being proactive and taking a genuine care in both us as buyers and getting a good price for her sellers too.

We recently bought a house from Hamish Homes and were very happy with their customer service and professionalism. The marketing material, photos and video were accurate and a good representation of the property. Stephen, who showed us round the house, was honest, helpful and very informative. He let us look around for a long time as we were moving up from England and unlikely to be able to come for a second viewing before making an offer. Moving between England and Scotland can be very stressful with different legal systems, and English conveyancing being a long slow process, but communication with Hamish Homes was good, and Stephen was very helpful and reassuring at times during the conveyancing process in finding out what was causing hold-ups. They also left a nice welcome pack in the house for us.

I highly recommend Hamish Homes. I’ve had the pleasure of not only buying from them, but also asking them to sell my flat at the same time.
Tony’s warmth and humour helped to make both processes as stress free as possible. When there were minor glitches (as expected with property sales) his obvious experience and professionalism was evident and problems were sorted swiftly. He stayed in close contact with me and I honestly felt like I had friend guiding me through it all.
The marketing of my flat was wonderful with the videography and drone footage .The descriptions of the property were inviting and less formal than standard estate agent lingo and I think this added to the charm of the marketing. We were looking to advertise our property for sale a little while ago when Hamish Homes were still new to the Highlands, Stephen visited our property and explained all aspects of the process and so we decided to go ahead. Everything associated with the sales process was organised and undertaken very efficiently and within a short period of time. We were updated regularly and knew exactly when the property would go live on the market.
When we received offers on the property, again, they were discussed with ourselves, our thoughts and opinions were always considered by Stephen.He is very experienced and knowledgeable as regards property, and will liase directly with sellers/buyers when it seems impossible to get answers from other agencies involved in the process.
We would not hesitate to contact Hamish Homes again when necessary.

I moved a few times over the last 10 years. I decided to give Hamish a try because they were selling a lot of homes. The initial signing up was ok. Although nearly changed mind as price was very steep and more than other agents. (Cost ended up over 6K). Anyway once ball was rolling Tony Lister did the first viewing it was at 1pm and at 4pm I still hadn't heard anything so rang him and no answer so left a voicemail. Eventually he got back and told me there was 2 more booked in which was fine...I was told this delay is how they do things... didn't make sense to me as you would think they would get back to you straight away while viewing still fresh in their mind! That night I went to move my bin and underneath were my house keys Id given to Tony just sitting there! Near a drain as well! The next viewing I did and the viewer was surprised that I didn't know she had already been to house as Tony showed her round but never mentioned she was coming back. He then didn't update me on another viewing that never happened (I was told he would get back to me - he didn't). Then I noticed white goods weren't mentioned in the advert which should have been asked about. Partly my fault but I'm paying them to do this professionally and they never asked so had to tell viewer myself. There were also mistakes in the listing for example they used the wrong floor plan at first but this was quickly amended. Another thing I didn't know about at the time - the new buyer felt slightly bullied as she was asked to increase her asking price even though I had already accepted her offer!(The increase would have made little to no difference to me as their bill would increase also) Finally before the move day I contacted Hamish about key for the new buyer.. And Hamish said it was with Tony and he was ill so they couldn't get the key from him. Could I give them another?!! I refused and left a 2nd key with my solicitor. Why was the key not in their office as it should have been as this was over a month after viewings were finished! So all in all poorly done...although there was nothing majorly wrong there was a lot of things that add up and chasing I did which I shouldn't have had to! Certainly not for the price I paid!! Not a great experience and not what I would expect from a professional company! IF I moved again I certainly wouldn't be using Hamish!

Was seeking info for moveing house and always see hamish adverts whether it be Facebook, radio, YouTube etc. Very good marketing so made an online enquiry and got a phonecall from kelly that evening. She ran through all they offer and what they can do so went with them. Straight away she organised valuation, home report appointment to get things going. She then organised photos and video and got the flat on the market. She works 7 days a week and does evening views aswell which also helps as most people work 9-5 and can't make viewings. So that was added bonus. Had the place sold very quickly. Any questions I had kelly would reply anytime of the day so always available to help. Overall fantastic service, always available and sorted everything that needs done for an offer to go in and the sale to go through.
