Harley Academy Avis 

Disappointing decline in standards and poor management.
I am leaving this review under a pseudonym to protect my privacy as a working professional, but my experiences here—and those of my friends—have been highly disappointing.

This academy has recently rebranded under a new name, and the shift in both staff and standards is noticeable.

When Jess was working in "Skin Viva" which now it has been rebranded, the service was acceptable. However, since her departure and the resignation of various qualified doctors, the environment has changed completely.

The management and booking team, specifically James Ashton (Manager) and Rebecca (Booking Team), lack professional customer service skills (I had a bad experience with them, before they rebranded their aesthetic academy and clinic 18 months ago).
• They refused to take responsibility: When trainee clinicians make mistakes, the academy refuses to take ownership. Instead of correcting errors gracefully, they expect the client to pay out of pocket to amend the mistake.

• Aggressive management: When I raised concerns about a treatment that left me with an uneven result and a visible dent from dermal filler, the manager, James Ashton was incredibly rude, dismissive, and argumentative (I have his email exchange).

A quick look at other recent reviews confirms that this defensive, derogatory manner is a recurring pattern for him.

• Unhelpful booking team: Rebecca S. on the booking team has also been consistently impolite and unhelpful when handling inquiries.

Furthermore, friends of mine who trusted this academy for Botox treatments were also left with uneven results, and the academy completely failed to address or rectify the issue.

What used to be a reputable training environment has declined significantly, possibly that's why they rebranded it.

Between the high staff turnover of qualified professionals and the hostile management style, I can no longer recommend this academy to anyone looking for safe, accountable aesthetic treatments.

A fantastic training team (Victoria and Natalie) and support staff. Extremely thorough, professional environment and informative. I really enjoyed the training and opportunity for hands on experience with close supervision. It has made me look at aesthetics medicine in a different light and consider it as part of a portfolio career.

Trainers, clinic, and online information are great. However, the course is extremely saturated, which does not allow students a realistic opportunity to book observation days, mentoring sessions, or even the theory exam. I have been waiting over a year!!. You can only book at 7 a.m. on the first day of the month, but the platform usually crashes and does not allow access.

I have also tried contacting the support team several times for help, with no success, only being told to “try next time.”

There was an issue with my MEDSU account, and my access to the e-learning platform was paused. Although it was fixed over two weeks ago, my access has still not been restored. As a result, when I tried again today (1st May at 7 a.m.) to book my mentoring session and theory exam, I couldn’t even access the platform, causing yet another month of delay.

I honestly cannot express how frustrating this is. I chose Harley Academy despite the significant financial commitment, expecting excellence and personalised attention. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. While the trainers and their standards are excellent, it does not make up for the administrative issues.

If I had known this beforehand, I would have chosen a different Level 7 provider.

Super helpful and comprehensive foundation training to injectables, trainers are very approachable and friendly, and lunch was lovely! I look forward to finishing my level 7 at Harley

Great training, very well-organized and structural, also great trainers and instructors.

Really informative and not rushed. Felt supported throughout the day, helped with the consultation pre administration and not pressured to get the questions right straight away.
Really helpful with different techniques and dexterity when injecting.

Great first contact with training staff- Emily, Alisha and Sophie. The level of expertise and thoughtful program planning showed through. Really glad I joined the program. Looking forward to future sessions

I am very sorry to say that this was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. The mentoring offering was misleading, and the level of support provided did not align with what was originally communicated. In particular, there have been no available dates to book mentoring sessions for months, making it impossible to access the support that was promised. This lack of availability has resulted in significant frustration and disappointment. I regret that my experience did not meet the expectations that were set, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously for future improvement

Over all I found the training experience with Harley academy to be excellent. The 1:1 mentoring sessions were absolute gold, having the opportunity to have a few hours of practical experience whilst being able to learn from the best. I found the foundation day good but due to covid restrictions ( I completed this years ago) this was not hands on so I did not really rate this.

The quality of the teaching and online resources is excellent and does prepare you well for the exam.

I gave 4:5 as I became very frustrated by the lack of availability of the mentoring sessions. I had to travel to London for several additional sessions in order to get the correct number of cases in my logbook. I also found it unacceptable that patients booking in for polynucleotide treatments were booked into my clinics, I was taught to use these and performed these treatments, yet I was not then ‘trained ‘ to use these and this would require another £600 course to be able to do a treatment that I had already performed. These patients should not be in the clinics unless the Level 7 actually also was inclusive of these treatments.

In the time it took me to complete my training there have been many changes in the industry, and to the course itself. The physical location changed, the online platform changed, the numbers of patients wanting filler has dramatically fallen. If you want to do this course, get on with it and complete it in good time.

I feel thrilled and proud to have now completed my level 7 training . I would highly recommend Harley academy and the team. Just don't mess about like me and get it done efficiently!
