What a disaster.
I have been using Haws watering cans for years. I have had problems before - one started leaking from the base out of nowhere a few years back - but I've always found their customer service to be good. The other day I dropped my current one and it shattered, so I ordered a new can from their website.
When it arrived I was very disappointed with the quality. The seam around the bottom is extremely rough, as is the edge of the rose attachment. There were marks and water spots all over it too. Not what I expected!
I emailed them photos and they agreed it wasn't up to their expected standards, and they immediately arranged to send a replacement. Good result, sorted, right? No.
The replacement arrived today and it was the same. I can't believe that they didn't check the replacement one to make sure it didn't have the same issues! When I pointed this out, they said that their watering cans are already in boxes in their warehouse and can't be checked before despatch. All this does is raise questions about their quality control - they should be checked BEFORE they are packaged and stored in the warehouse! Why place the burden of quality checking on your customers?!
Having lost faith in Haws's ability to deliver decent quality watering cans, I requested a refund, which I have been given. I have also been instructed to complete a fairly detailed returns form and to return the faulty goods. It's bizarre customer service to require the customer to fill out paperwork when it's not a change of mind return. After all of this time and effort, I'll have been left in the same position I was in before - needing a watering can - but out a bunch of time spent emailing about the repeated issues, packaging goods up for return, and queuing at the Post Office. All because they dropped the ball on the original order and the replacement.
What a shame that this is what Haws has become.

Beautiful 2 gallon watering can and roses for both this one and my pre existing half size can. Quality you can just feel. I have had my small can 15 years and it's still looks good and doing the job in the greenhouse.
The 2 gallon is big enough for general garden use. Though will be pretty heavily when full.
Looking forward to getting in the garden later today and transplanting the cabbages.

Superb customer service
I had a small leak in my lovely Haws can but customer service (Tandy) could not have been swifter or more efficient in response to my email and I now have a replacement can.
I have three other Haws cans, one for more than 30 years and am a big fan.

Haws watering can is for life! …
I have a copper Haws indoor watering can that is more than 30 years old. A very small leak appeared before the pouring spout became detached and made it useless. A phone call to the customer service team enabled me to post it back to them for a repair. I was so happy as I had inherited this watering can from my mother and it has sentimental value as well as being a very useful and beautiful object. Instead of being put in landfill it is once again being put to good use in my home. A Haws watering can is for life with a service that helps in this way. I am so grateful to the Team at Haws and cannot recommend them highly enough.

The Warley Fall Galvanised Can
Our much loved 20+ year old Warley Fall Galvanised Can developed a small leak. On contacting Haws for advice, Tandy was extremely helpful and offered options of either a new one at a discounted rate or that the original could be looked at to see if a repair was possible. I accepted both options! Phil was able to repair the original can and it’s now working perfectly and sits alongside our brand new one. I was updated frequently by email throughout our correspondence.
A huge thank you to Tandy and Phil for your guidance, help and support. It’s rare to have such amazing customer service, especially when the product is as old as our lovely original can!

One of the best customer service experiences ever!
My watering can developed a little leak along the spout - clearly from having taken a knock, so I e-mailed Haws, who were prompt, polite and very happy to sort the problem out for me.
I live close enough to their factory that I was able to take the can in. Everyone that I met or interacted with was absolutely wonderful and the repair was completed in super quick time. Not only that, but they've given the can a complete re-spray and polish so that it literally looks a s good as new. Brilliant.
The staff gave the impression that they were proud to work for Haws and that it is a great company. There was a real warmth to the place and the people.

I bought a Warley Fall Green watering…
I bought a Warley Fall Green watering can from Haws in 2021. It is a great product, pours correctly and is nicely balanced when full. It comes with a brass rose too. Roll on 4 years and it developed a fault. I took a video of the fault, I submitted it to their portal and got an email back the next day telling me that a new one had been dispatched and would be there the next day, which it was. I couldn’t be happier with their service.

My reaction to Haws' further reply to my review. Haws appears to be a pathetic, unprofessional and borderline malicious company.
Perhaps if they looked at the many other critical trustpilot reviews of Haws on here, but with their eyes open, they wouldn't embarrass themselves with such specious claims of going the extra mile for their customers!
Their "Going the extra mile" claim is completely at odds with a mediocre Trustpilot score of 3.6.
Instead of applying some marketing discretion to appease a dissatisfied customer who called them out about a genuinely poorly designed product, and offer to try using their own product for themselves to see that when full, it simply does not balance in your hand, but tips back, making it a needlessly uncomfortable strain on the arm to both carry it without spilling water, and to pour from it.
The design is clearly flawed and places the handle grip off-centre, front to back. TEST IT FOR YOURSELVES, HAWS, YOU FOOLS.
The only extra mile they have gone for this customer is the oh so small-minded attempt to discredit my review and point out that I have also published critical posts of other companies, over the years. How many trustpilot reviewers have only had one problem company to review?
If you, Haws, spent as much time addressing your product deficiencies as you do with your heads in the sand (or more likely: snouts in the profit trough), you might have more positive reviews here!
My original review :
I bought 3 Cradley cascader plastic watering cans in the same order. What a mistake that was!
These are very poorly designed and the rectangular-shaped handle, with finger indentations is uncomfortable and is not positioned to hold the filled can in balance. Instead the handle placement tips the watering can backwards. This is a folly of design but when I wrote to Haws [note that I bought them from a retailer but wrote to Haws about their poor design], they replied that I had made a personal choice. Clearly, they do not understand the concept of mail order. I had not held the product before and only made the choice of Haws based on the evidently flawed basis of believing they made superior products. Not only do they manufacture watering cans of poor design but they operate an abandoning and crass approach to customer service. They will never have my custom , again.

Poor quality
My haws indoor copper watering can which I bought 6 years ago now leaks where the spout joins the can. I had thought I was buying a long lasting quality product.
Two leaking watering cans and one with a wonky spout
I have always understood that you get what you pay for so I didn’t mind paying extra to buy a Haws watering can. I have had 3 water butts installed round the house so I needed watering cans that would fit underneath their taps, without the handle getting in the way and the design of Haws cans work for this purpose. Sadly the two cans I bought last year are leaking where the spout fits in to the body of the can. And the smaller one I bought recently had a wonky spout. I had the receipt for this so it was easy to return but Haws are not keen to honour their guarantee with the other ones because I haven’t kept the receipts. Who keeps receipts for watering cans for goodness sake? One of them has a bar code and price on the bottom. I have offered to return them.
I will not be buying or recommending Haws again and I am very disappointed in the quality of the product and their customer service.
Haws "Long Reach"ist minderwertig, ein Schaden ist programmiert
Ich erwarb nach ca. 15 Jahren eben meine zweite Kunststoff Gießkanne "Haws Long-Reach/the Selly Soak green" 5 Liter, und muss leider sagen, daß sie inzwischen ein minderwertiges Produkt ist.
Grund: die mitgelieferten 2 aufsteckbaren Tüllen/ Ausgiesser passen nicht komplett, wie eigentlich vorgesehen, vorne auf die Kanne, denn sie sind zu eng und dünnwandig gefertigt, so daß sie sicher reißen werden, wenn man es doch versucht. (Das z3eigen bei genauem Hinsehen sogar die Fotos auf der Haws Internetseite, die nicht einmal mit HTTPS abgesichert ist!)
Genau dasselbe problem beschreiben auf Amazon zahlreiche amerikanische Kunden einer roten, größeren Variante dieser Kanne erworben haben. (Diese Kanne ist inzwischen offenbar aus dem Programm genommen). Nicht so aber mein grünes Modell "Long Reach/the Selly Soak green", die ich im mai in Deutschland erwarb.
Der Händlerin war der Mangel übrigens bekannt.
Haws verkauft also hier bewusst mangelhafte Produkte.
Ich hätte übrigens grade fast eine (NP 120€) teure lackierte Blechkanne gebraucht von Haws erworben, bis ich auf den Detailbildern sah: sie war an eigentlich allen Nähten durch Korrosion/Rost aufgequollen und dadurch undicht geworden.
Auch das hat mich sehr verwundert, da doch Haws so stolz ist auf die angeblich tolle Handwewerksqualität....
Damit scheint es aber nicht mehr so weit her zu sein.

I purchased my Haws ( one gallon ,green) some 4 years ago, recently had a problem with it. Haws fixed it straight away at no cost to me.

Misplaced Package and Haws sorted it out in 2 days!!
I ordered a watering can for my girlfriends birthday to which it was delivered without any issues. The issue started when i went to my entrance way to collect said package to find it had been stolen (multiple package thefts that day i found out). I contacted the delivery partner to which they advised i reached out to Haws directly. I emailed Haws and within 2 days Tandy came back to resend the watering can (to a more secure address to avoid any issues). Lovely customer service which has me wanting to order more from them moving forwards. :)

I made an error with the address details so my parcel couldn’t be delivered at first but when I got in touch with Haws Tandy was super helpful and proactive getting everything sorted for me. The house plant mister I ordered is lovely too.
