Read the ACTUAL Prenup Document before signing. You'll need a Lawyer.
We are still in the middle of the hello prenup process & some of your choices are confusing. It does not make it easy to have the prenup exactly like we want. I thought I could trust that this truly brings up all things that we are not aligned with, so we can discuss & get on the same page. But it does not do that for the full prenup document. Thank God, I read it first & did not blindly trust hello-prenup. If you are doing this, watch out. You may be waiving a lot of your 50/50 Common law rights in CA. So now, both of us have to get lawyers to do some back & forth. I don't trust that it's only going to be $700, each for that. It might be more.

A prenup is designed to clarify or change certain rights you would otherwise have under California law, so reading and understanding every provision before signing is essential. That’s also why we include education throughout the questionnaire to explain what each question covers and help couples understand the choices they’re making.
Our process covers the key financial topics in a prenup and helps identify where partners have selected different terms. Still, every couple is unique, and some goals may require help from an attorney to tailor the agreement further. This is exactly what our optional attorney servies are for.

Waste of time and money, unfortunately
The questionnaire was very easy to navigate, but it was very high level. In contrast, the prenup agreement was quite detailed. As such, there were items added to and missing from the prenup doc that we were unable to change because there was no corresponding question. Very frustrating and made the prenup a complete waste of time.
Seemed like the whole process was a tactic to require us to pay thousands of additional dollars for their attorney to review or assist. That was the only way that they suggested to correct our issues.
I think an easy solution would be to simply have more questions so that the output is based on facts and not assumptions, or hyperlinks in the prenup that link back to the question that is causing the ‘issue’.

Thank you for this thoughtful feedback. We’re glad the questionnaire was easy to navigate, but we hear your frustration when the final agreement included language you didn’t recognize from the questions or couldn’t change directly.
The questionnaire captures the decisions needed to create your prenup, while the agreement also includes the detailed legal language and standard provisions required to put those decisions into effect. Because of that, every paragraph will not always correspond to a single question. When a couple wants custom terms beyond the options available on the platform, an attorney may be needed to provide legal advice and draft that language. Attorney services are not intended to be a required upsell.
Your suggestions for adding more questions and linking provisions back to the answers that generated them are genuinely helpful. Docusign doesn’t work.
The online notary couldn’t help because helloprenup had a “known bug” where we couldn’t sign. Super stressful. We had to print out and get notarized. When asking them to send us the agreement they sent the one that wasn’t signed by my attorney and we didn’t realize until after it got notarized in person. When messaging them they said oh we thought you just wanted any copy. It’s great for a quick prenup in a bind, but still spend 2k - may as well get a lawyer you can see in person.

Great Customer Service
Although we initially had some issues with the notarization process, the company followed up and worked to address my concerns. I really appreciate how responsive and fair they were in handling the situation. The attorney was excellent and incredibly helpful throughout the process. Overall, I’m very impressed with how the company handled everything and truly appreciate the care they showed.

HelloPrenup - super seamless, easy and affordable
HelloPrenup was super seamless and easy process. It only took a couple of weeks to do and finalize and is just as official and thorough as going to your local attorney, it just cost way cheaper.
